Chapter 18

I remembered there was a time I was out for a few months, that is what I was told by my father, I was out for business trips, maybe that was the period all these happened and maybe it could be Layla who was diagnosed with cancer, but why would it be kept a secret from me? My head was spun, there was something I still couldn't get well.

On the same days that it was known, I was out for some business trips, they are the same days I lost my memory, and I couldn't remember which kind of business I had gone out for, I couldn't even remember which country was that!

"When was that?" I suspiciously asked. D galped saliva heavily and widened his eyes, "a few months ago!" He assured. Now I could understand, it was clear the fact-filled my eyes, and my upper eyebrows became heavy. It was a debt, yes a debt someone was paying off to the mother witch, and now his. sons betrayed him with a kidnap or something of sought. I felt it from inside me, it could be something else, but not love.

Nevertheless, D just mentioned something, The mother witch was in need of something from the girl, and not her love, she didn't love her at all. Things became doom to my eyes, I couldn't think anymore. I had heard enough of his tales, and it was time to go home. No more stories. "I need to go, take me home! I Would love to go, I have a job to do, and I have a life to live-"

I cried helplessly. Then I remembered the piece of paper, that I had read, it had something to do with a debt, I seized for a second, trying to interpret it fully. "Debt? Why would the person drop that paper over here, what person thinking exactly was the debt about? No, I had to ask him " I whispered slowly as I stretched my right hand towards his shoulder. No! I wasn't ready to tell him!

D, looked back raised his eyebrows, and stared at me, he had a sense that I was about to touch him.

"Is everything alright?" "Yes, but please take me home!" I quickly responded and cut him as he tried to say something. "Okay, no problem!" He raised his face to look up into the sky and gazed. "It is safe now!" He whispered as he continued to stare at the clear skies that stared back at him.

The person at the gas station continuously looked and stared at us, without withdrawing his eyes from
us, he seemed to have been amazed at how we behaved the entire hours we spent at the station."I need to make another call!" I said as he walked away to make another call. I was never bothered by his words as I
continued to look at the person at the gas station.

I fished into my pocket and had a cigarette between my fingers, - a puff and another until his return.

He held my shoulder slowly and whispered into my ear, "You also do cigarettes? I had quit, but I got one from the mall today!" I raised my voice back. Of course, I had to do some bigger, with the kind of situation we were in or rather was in, I did not necessarily need any permission to use nicotine. Without waiting any longer, a red car appeared at the gas station and drove nearer us, "is this my car?" I curiously asked as I looked back at

D's dark eyes. "I told you not to be worried much about all these, everything was under my control!"

D bragged back as he moved close to the car and opened the driver's door to let the person out of the car. Things happened so fast, that I Couldn't get a chance to see the person who brought in the car, and with little time he had vanished into the thin air, I thought that I was still in my own world of fantasy and Imagination.

Things have been so hard on me, that I couldn't understand them anymore, I just needed to go home, take a shower, a nap, and get back to work, I had no time at all to re-think of such cults that were all around me.

I would rather leave them for D, he was the only one who knew what exactly was happening. I raised my right arm to check my injury," it isn't that much bad. not going to turn into a coven soon!" D said with a smirk as he held the door for me. "Who brought the car?" I curiously asked as I sat behind the staring. "One of my good friends" "You also have friends?" I stupidly asked, wanting to know if he also had such good friends who could do anything at his command.

All these hours I had known him, he had been looking so mean to himself and more Or less of the demons I had met last night. No friends, no work, and no nothing.

I wasn't convinced yet, that it was his friend who brought in the car, and if it was really his friend, why would he leave so fast? Why would he even not have greeted his friend? And why would the friend not come to his rescue when he needed him the most? When we were being attacked by the vampires? Why would he just come at this time when everything seemed not so bad?

That was insane of him. I still couldn't find it easy to trust his words anymore. But I had no time to argue with him anymore, I had a few hours to get back to work and rescue my job. I had a chance to take over the company when the new manager retired, my father wanted me to take over as a new manager, he had just waited for these days when I would have grown up and I had the capabilities to handle things on my own.
