CHAPTER 16

"D-did something happen to us?"
What?
Because of Ken's question to the man who was standing next to his bed and was not wearing a top, Alec's face immediately turned red.
He knew what the man was thinking, who seemed to be confused by what was happening, wonderingly looking at him and his body without wearing anything. Because of the thought, Alec bowed his own head and his shoulders almost shook because of the excessive laughter that wanted to come out of his mouth.
Ken was restless thinking why he was in bed and why he was next to the bed without a top cover. Even though he looks like he doesn't know about things, he probably knows when there are two people in the same room, and seeing Alpha Alec without clothes, he already knows the reason.
But it's just a wonder why he doesn't feel any pain if something really happened to the two of them? Why does he feel so light contrary to what other people say that it hurts at first?
But the last one... why does he think it hurts? Which one hurts?
Until he noticed Alec standing next to his bed as if shaking. He was holding his own head and the man was almost bent down so he couldn't see his face. It's just surprising because his shoulders are shaking, a sign that he's laughing or crying?
"Alpha? Is it true? Did something happen to us?" The tone of his voice was normal but in spite of that, he could feel the trepidation that maybe his prediction was true or maybe he was just delusional about it.
When Alec suddenly stopped laughing quietly, he looked Ken in the eyes. And because of that, the smile etched on his lips slowly disappeared as he noticed the nervousness and fear he saw on Ken's face.
Because of that, he quickly took clothes from the cabinet that was in front of him just now, put on the clothes and immediately faced the idiot Ken.
He smiled first to let him know that he was going to answer his question that he had mentioned twice before.
"As for your question if something... happened to us? Nothing. Nothing happen between us." Alec answered and smiled at the man in front of him.
Ken just stared at him and didn't even move his lips to inquire or ask. He waited for him to speak before he moved to where he stood, he also didn't want to plant in Ken's mind that something had happened between the two of them even though there really wasn't.
Ken is precious to him. He doesn't want him to think about things that don't matter.
"Really?" at that time he heard his voice.
He nodded again to indicate to the other that he was telling the truth.
"But... how did I end up here?" Ken asked in surprise, so he was the one who suddenly frowned.
Maybe he doesn't remember what happened before he passed out in his arms. Who wouldn't faint if that girl left a pungent smell where Ken was still around?
So instead of answering his question, he walked closer to his bed, pressed his palm to Ken's forehead and felt the normal warmth of his body.
Earlier this precious guy was shaking and his skin was cold, a sign that he was not well. Now, he was trying to find out if his temperature was still normal or not, but when he felt that it was normal, he removed his own hand from his forehead.
Ken looked at him in surprise, he could read his gaze so he started to speak.
He took a deep breath before answering the question he could see in his eyes. "You couldn't breathe earlier because of Nina's scent, I know your sensitive to those smells so I let you smell my scent, just in case. And it's a relief that you calm down and you finally rest." Alec explained in front of Ken.
But what he expected to reply to him did not happen when he saw how his face reddened and his beautiful blue eyes widened.
He immediately felt worried that he might have said something wrong or that he might not have said the right words.
"Wait? D-did I say something wrong, Ken?" he asked here and he did not expect what he answered him.
"Y-you... let me smell you?"
Swallowing, he nodded, "Yes. I did that. Why? Is that bad?" Even though Alec was an Alpha, he couldn't help but feel scared or nervous right now.
What if that is not possible for people like Ken? What if he made a mistake because he abused Ken's condition while this guy is in his arms?
But Alec has one word. His own father wouldn't trust him without any reason, would he?
The other person shook his head and closed his mouth before speaking again, "N-no... I'm just surprised that someone like you would do that for me. Though... I just can't imagine that you would do that to someone like me, so thank you, Alpha Alec." Ken bowed a little to show the Alpha in front of him his sincere as a thank you.
Alec took a deep breath and smiled gently. "You don't need to thank me, Ken. It's my responsibility because you're here in my home. And I've accepted you as a citizen of my territory, so don't thank me anymore."
Ken was not able to answer immediately because of what he heard from Alec. It was surprising because, that was the first time someone had accepted him, which is Alpha Alec.

Alec stayed in Ken's room for the meantime, talking about things they both liked. One of them is the passion for playing the guitar. It's amazing because it's not obvious but they both like playing the guitar.
"Really? So, you can sing?" Ken asked him with a smile.
He scratched the back of his neck and was embarrassed to look at the other person. "No. My voice is ugly so---"
The two stopped talking because of three knocks they heard outside the room. Alec immediately stood up to open the door, when he saw what was outside he raised his eyebrows.
"Shiena, what are you doing here?"
His eyebrows rose as he looked at her, "Well? I'm the one who should be asking that, right? Why are you in Ken's room?"
Alec was about to answer this but he was shocked because Shiena immediately pushed the door in and saw Ken sitting on the bed, wrapped in a blanket and obviously just waking up.
"Doctor Shiena, it's you." The young man answered politely which made Shiena smile.
Shiena really likes the kindness of this man, and she already knows why Alec is inside his room, Ken's smell is inside this four corner room.
Well... it's not wrong either.
"Hi, Ken! How are you? Are you still dizzy?" Shiena asked directly after sitting on the edge of Ken's bed.
Alec closed the door and walked to where he was sitting, only to be stopped because Shiena sat there. And the woman just smiled at him, like she's innocent.
He just walked to the side of the window and leaned there, folded his arms while looking and listening to the conversation of the two people with him in the room.
"Ah, I'm not dizzy anymore. Actually, I feel fine. I just don't know what the reason is why I feel so light and... good." answered the young man to the woman in front of him.
"Hmm? But I didn't give you anything to drink earlier before we took you here to your room?"
Alec frowned, he didn't give or say anything to Shiena earlier either. The only thing he knew Ken was holding was the...
He stopped in his thoughts when he spotted the black thing covered by the blanket next to Ken. Because of that, Alec eyeing Shiena and the woman already felt his gaze, it's like they're using their eyes to make a conversation.
Alec's eyes moved to the black thing that was hiding next to Ken, fortunately Shiena quickly understood what he was saying while holding onto his own clothes. The woman quickly stood up from her seat and walked over to Ken, taking the black thing next to him, it was Alec's shirt.
He gave it to the young man earlier because he could see how he gradually calmed down because of the smell of that shirt.
Shiena sat down again and showed Ken the black shirt she was holding. "This? Do you remember this?" She stared intently at the young man in front of her.
His blue eyes were staring at the shirt she was holding until she and Alec saw how Ken took it from her hand. He brought it to his nose and looked at her again.
"I... remember this. Is this mine? I don't remember having clothes---" Ken stopped because of what he said.
Yes, he remembered. He didn't have this kind of clothes, nor did his clothes smell like this. A shirt like this calms his inside so he can't let go, is this the reason he feels so good? It also smells very different from the usual scent of what he wears. So... whose is that shirt from?
Because of the question that entered Ken's mind, he immediately turned to where Alec was leaning. When their eyes met and he stared at the clothes of the Alpha was wearing, he turned to the clothes he was holding.
That's when he got the idea that maybe that shirt was from Alpha?
He swallowed and slowly asked the Alpha.
"Alpha...?"
"Hmm? What is it?"
Hesitantly, his hands lifted the black shirt and looked at Alec again. "Tell me the truth. Is this... yours?"
Alec and Shiena froze, wondering if they should tell him the truth.
But there is no secret that cannot be revealed, and it is only a small matter that he borrows hid clothes.
Alec nodded, not expecting Ken and Shiena.
Shiena thought that he was going to say no, but, he answered him right away.
"Yes. That shirt is mine."
"W-what?"
"What do you mean by asking me that, what?"
"Why... would you give this to me?"
"Because I thought it'll help you?"
"No! You're wrong!"
Ken's shout made the three of them stop inside the room. But... it's too late to regret.
"I'm sorry. But you shouldn't have done that, Alpha!"
"And why not? I want to help you---"
"But you will put yourself in harm's way! Don't let someone borrow everything from you if you don't know what will happen next!"
"Then explain it to me. So that I can understand and I'll think through it. And I am the Alpha, it's my responsibility to help you."
Ken stared at the man who was also staring at him, before uttering the last words... "Because I'm going to look for your scent and it's already imprinted on me. That's one of the mistakes you made, Alpha Alec. I'm sorry."
