Chapter 10

**Angela's POV**

I was in for one hell of a sleepless night! My mind wouldn’t stop trying to analyze what just happened with Brad!

God, why did I have to make a big deal out of everything?

*Sigh*

Did I want him? Was I attracted to him?

Hell, even a blind woman would be in longing! Yet, he was an unfaithful bastard! My mind was a constant motion of tug of war. I kept countering each and every thought that would indicate that I felt something for Brad.

I grabbed hold of a pillow and threw it on the floor in frustration. I was losing my mind. That was the only logical explanation.

I closed my eyes and willed myself to sleep, I pushed all the wayward thoughts down and mentally planned what I would do tomorrow.

Thank God he would be at work!

**Brad’s POV**

I leaned back in my chair and fixed my gaze on the man sitting opposite me. I didn’t need to listen to him, I knew it was the same bullshit over again. My mind drifted.

Should I bed Angela or should I not complicate our relationship? These were questions that plagued me. Hell, it was better if she slept with me than with some other guy.

My body tensed. If she ever dared...

“Are you prepared to take the offer?” the man asked after his lengthy explanation. I raised an eyebrow at him, I slowly straightened on my chair and leaned forward to rest my hands on my desk.

“No.” I stared into his eyes and I saw them widen.

“But Sir, with all due respect, this could be a great opportunity for-“

“I don’t like repeating myself. I said, no. This is my company, I know what is beneficial and what isn’t. Don’t step out of your bounds.” I replied slowly ensuring my words sank in.

“Yes Sir.” He answered and I dismissed him.

Maybe it was my sexual frustration but I felt grumpier than usual and it exhausted me. I wanted to be left alone. I sank back into my chair and stared off into the surrounding.

One thought occupying my mind...Angela.

**Angela’s POV**

So another uneventful day. I sighed multiple times while I listening to a podcast on ancient civilization. I think I listened to this one already...

I paid close attention to the upcoming lines and shook my head in disbelief...I definitely heard this before.

I sighed and rolled my eyes at myself I was so clueless sometimes. I immediately began laughing at myself.

I felt my cell vibrate and I pulled it out of my pocket, the number was not a familiar one.

“Hello?” I answered.

“Mrs. Regal?”

“Yes.” I answered the slow speaking woman on the other line, perhaps English was not her first language.

“You were listed as an emergency contact...” She continued and despite my first assumption that English was not her first language was proven by her thick accented voice, I couldn’t help my heart from speeding up.

Emergency contact?

Getting off the phone I immediately grabbed my key and rushed out of the house.

*Brad’s POV*

My phone vibrated and I groaned, who in God’s hell?

I checked the message and saw it was from Angela. My body shook at the mere thought of her. Reading the message I grew worried.

Meet me at the hospital. Something has happened. I am not sure what, but I am on my way now. Hope you can make it also.

What could possibly be the matter? I calmly rang for my assistant. I told her to cancel all my meetings for the rest of the day. I got up, collected my jacket, and walked out of the building. I smirked at the shocked glares I received from my employees.

I never left this early and they all knew it.

I pulled up in front of the hospital and made my way in, I tucked my right hand in the pocket of my trousers and casually made my way to the reception.

“Is an Angela Regal here?” I asked the woman behind the desk. She was dismissive, her eyes holding a glare as she stared at me. Once her eyes fell on mine and then on me her eyes grew wide and I saw that look. The look women gave me as if I was a piece of meat.

I despised it. I hated that sort of attention especially since she was not the woman I wanted to hold captive with my appearance and charisma.

“Well?” My voice a harsh metal and she snapped out her daydream.

“Uh,” She fiddled with some files and then on the computer in front of her.

“Yes, she just arrived.” She answered and gazed on me again.

I sighed. “Where is she?” my eyes piercing holes into her.

“In the waiting room.” She answered quickly and I walked away, my anger flaring and it was not even midday. Some people had the uncanny knack for annoying me.

I saw Angela pacing, she was the only one there and I felt a smile creep up on my lips. God how I wanted to take the anxiety away! I had a sure remedy.

Her eyes fell on me. I swore she was stunned.

“What are you doing here?” She asked her voice full of emotion.

The smile fell from my lips and so did my pride.

“What in the hell are you talking about, you told me to come here.” She looked at me as if I was mental.

*What the fuck?*

“No, I didn’t.” She sounded hysterical.

“You did.” I defended. My voiced low and hard and I saw her flinch at my tone but she recovered sooner than anyone else. Why wasn’t she as affected by me? That would have made our relationship so much easier.

“Why in hell would I text you?” She retorted and I clenched my jaw.

I pulled out my cell and held it out to her; she rolled her eyes and took the phone from my hands. The gentleness of her touch sending rivets throughout my body.

Yes if she was affected by me like all else then seduction would be easier and then I wouldn’t be in this deprived state.

I saw her eyes darkened and she gave attention to me.

“Now are you ready to be civil and stop acting like an idiot?” I asked. The question in no way to be answered.

She clenched her jaw at my comment. “That wasn’t meant for you.”

Not for me?

“Then who in hell was it meant for?” I drew closer to her, my eyes the most intense.

“Excuse me, is this the-“

Both Angela and I spun around at the first indication of someone’s appearance. The doctor stood shell shocked, he stopped midway and his eyes traveled across Angela.

If he didn’t close his mouth, I was tempted to do it for him...permanently.

“Angela?” Her name escaped his lips my hand twitched from being clenched to tightly.

“Paul.” Her voice was a clear whisper; I turned my gaze upon her.

Did she know him?
