Chapter 35
He released his grip around me but I instantly wrapped my arms around his neck, ensuring he didn’t move away. His hands slid to remove his boxers. He pushed them away and pushed me harder against the wall. His hand coming up to cup my waist and pull me up onto him. He wrapped my legs around his waist.
His lips came to mine once more, he pulled my arms from around his neck and pinned them above my head, against the wall. His lips came to my ear, the heat of his breath tickling me and sending shivers of pleasure rushing through me to pool...down there.
“Say you’ll move into my room.” He commanded, his voice soft and mesmerizing.
I shook my head negatively, at the same time his lips were at my neck and I could feel him smile against my skin.
Then he entered me, a cry escaping my lips. He moved out, continuing a slow sensual rhythm. I felt shook after shook course through me and I was suddenly lost.
“Agree to share my bed.” He growled and I assumed he was fighting for control. His voice equally rough as gravel and it did weird things to me. My heart stopped at the way he sounded. More importantly at the way he sounded with me.
“Okay.” I breathed as I spiralled up into territory until last night was unknown to me. My gaze hazed over and blurred as I felt myself go limp in Brad’s arms as a satisfied cry escaped my lips. Brad stilled and he too found his release. He slumped against me. Our chests heaving as he buried his face into my neck.
“I am satisfied that you agreed.” He voiced between breaths.
He allowed my body to slide down his and I shuddered. He looked at me. “Are you alright?” he asked.
“Yes. Just a bit sore.” I lowered my gaze. His fingers reached up and lifted my chin so that my eyes met his. Our breaths mingling.
“I know. I am sorry. I hadn’t planned to sleep with you for a bit until the soreness was gone. But—“he sucked in a breath, leaving the sentence incomplete.
“I have a business trip, I will be gone until Wednesday. I hope you stick to your word and move into my room, I will find some comfort knowing you're occupying my bed while I am gone.”
I smiled up at him, unsure how to respond. This wasn’t unusual, Brad often went on Business trips but this one was ill timed!
“I will leave the number of the hotel where you can reach me. If you need anything, call.” He confided.
“I doubt I will be so lost with the lack of your presence that I would need to call you. It’s three days.” I responded and saw him frown. Did he want me to miss him? Would he miss me?
“You might not be affected but I can assure you I will be.” His gaze narrowed on my lips and my breath hitched.
“W-when are you leaving?” I asked.
“In a couple of hours, but I can think of a couple of things we can do before that time.” He replied huskily and I was surprised at his growing erection pressing against my stomach. Even more so, I was stunned that I was equally as ready.
Brad was gone and I felt odd. I was always happy when he left for business but of course that was before we decided to sleep together. Harvey and I had a quiet day after Brad took his leave of both of us. I tried to persuade Harvey to go out with me but he insisted that he had tons of homework. I decided not to push after a half hour of trying to convince him. He was growing more accustomed to living with us, of that I am sure. He moved around the house with more ease and I found him spending time in our library. Brad had it installed as a wedding present to me. It wasn’t a gesture out of love just for show. But I adored it! Brad had his study and I had my library. It wasn’t huge but it was well equipped. I was content with Harvey’s growing comfort, with time he would come to think of this house as his home.
That night, Harvey was plagued by his dreams once more. This never eased my pain I felt for him. Maybe one day he would gain some closure, some peace. I spent the night in his room, sitting across his bed on a rocking chair. I was almost asleep when the house phone reverberated throughout the house. I quickly ran for it, hoping the sound hadn’t disturbed Harvey.
“Hello?” I breathed softly, making my way back up to Harvey’s room. I stood by the door and listened attentively, feeling a bit annoyed. Who in their right mind would be calling at such an hour!
“Still awake?” an amused voice came across the line and my heart fluttered.
I should have known! Brad. And somehow my annoyance dissipated as if it was never there.
“Is everything alright? Why are you calling at this hour?” I asked, waiting anxiously for his reply.
“Everything’s fine. I am surrounded by idiots here, but it fine.” He responded his voice growing a bit deeper at his mention of his associates. I couldn’t help but smile.
“I don’t think Scott would appreciate being called an idiot.” I responded lightly and a long pause followed, tension causing the air to crackle.
When he responded his voice was rougher, “No, I don’t suppose he would.” His voice ending on a growl.
What?
“Bra-“
“I just called to hear your voice.” He added quickly. “How’s Harvey?” he changed the subject.
“He’s good, I think. He was having night terrors a few hours ago.” My voice softened.
“I wish I could have been there to help you deal with it.” he offered and I did a double take.
“You would want to help?” I questioned, completely stunned.
“Of course. He is as much your kid as mine.” His voice low and intimate and I tried to swallow over the lump in my throat.
“I-I”
“I am sorry Angela, I have to go. Meetings about to start. Give Harvey my best and don’t forget when I am back I expect to see you moved in to my room.” The phone clicked and he was gone.
Just like him to bypass the formality of saying ‘good bye’. I stood outside Harvey’s room and steadied my breath. I walked back into the room and sat by the chair until sleep dragged me down into fantasies with a dark haired angel.
