Chapter 54
**Brad’s POV**
I was beyond relieved that circumstances dictated that we stayed closer to Dixon’s house. I was less happy however when the rest of the men decided on golfing. Scott eyed me in annoyance and I returned the sentiment. We both despised gulf.
“I am in desperate need of a drink.” He growled and my lips quirked sardonically. Even I could use one, the numbness would be better than playing this sport. I eyed my wrist watch and internally groaned. We still had a couple more hours to go.
“Dad!” Both Scott and I turned to see Harvey racing towards us and it was the first time since this sport started that we felt any liveliness. He ran to our sides.
“You-you...” he swallowed trying to catch his breath.
I rested a hand on his shoulder. “Calm down.” I soothed but he shrugged my hand off and shook his head vigorously.
“You need to help her. NOW!” He half-shouted through breaths. I furrowed my brows and tried to make sense of it.
“Who? What’s going on?” I questioned, studying him attentively.
“Mom. She is in the furthest part of the house, you need to help her.” He begged, his hands clasping onto my shirt in a plea. I couldn’t think but I felt the adrenaline pumping through my veins. I stepped out of his grasp and dashed towards the house.
I noticed Harvey about to run after me when Scott held him back and questioned him. That was all I noticed until my mind wandered to Angela.
**Angela’s POV**
He began walking towards me and I stepped back until my back hit the wall. He lounged at me but I jumped out of the way before he could grasp me. He was now at the wall and I had nothing in my path. I lost no time heading for the door, just as my fingers closed over the knob I was yanked forcefully back by my hair. I screamed at the pain and struggled.
I didn’t know how it happened but my hand moved across his face violently, my nails scratching pathways down his cheek. He roared and I drew blood and the back of his hand connected with my face.
I gasped. The throbbing was so intense as if a hundred different sized needles were poking around the area. I opened my eyes and only then realized I was on the floor. I watched as the blood spilled from my lips, the taste sickening. I tried to crawl away. The only option my mind was giving me but I was worse off than when I was running. He grabbed me by the hair and pulled me on my feet. I slammed painfully into a wall.
“Let me go!” I screamed, but the sound was muffled as he grabbed hold of my flaying arms and spun me around, and pushed me face-first into the wall. I felt him press against me and I pushed back, trying to get away but he applied more pressure with his body and I was unable to move.
“Just let me go.” I hadn’t the strength to scream anymore and I could feel my cheeks wet with tears.
His hands held mine against the wall and his face was nudging a way to my neck. “I love that you struggle.” He whispered that the back of my neck.
He ran a hand along the length of my body and I struggled again. “Stop it!” I half commanded and half begged.
He spun me around to face him, my hands held above my head with one arm, his lower body trapping me. I pulled and tugged my arms but his grip was absolute. His face leaned closer to mine but I turned away just before his lips touched mine. He grabbed my face with his free hand and squeezed me into submission as his lips touched mine. He pulled away and released my face roughly.
This hand gliding over my stomach and moving up to my chest. “Don’t...” I begged but he paid no attention to me.
His hand reached to the neckline of my dress where he tugged the fabric causing it to rip against my skin. I felt the tears overwhelm me now. The fabric huddled around my waist and I pushed forcefully against him. “Let me go!” I sobbed.
His hand glided over to my breasts where he cupped and squeezed painfully. I screamed at the contact. He lowered his face to my bare shoulder and I felt his fangs biting into my flesh. His hand circling around my neck in a stifling grip. My eyes clouded over from the pain and my head whirled. I felt my legs turn boneless as the pain cascaded it me and the lack of oxygen causing my eyes to close.
Evans pulled away and I slumped to the floor.
