Chapter 113 "Begged"
Avery P.O.V.
Once Math class was over and I started grabbing my stuff. I looked over from my side of the table. I didn t see Emilia or the girls. I guess they are ready to go out the door. I sigh and I threw my bag over my shoulder, and I started walking towards the door.
That was when I heard the bell rang. I saw bodies walking passing me and I felt someone knocked into my shoulder, ouch! I hold on to my shoulder that when I saw Joseph Houser staring right at me. I felt my breath leave my body. I am scared and my body is shaking. I can feel my heart beating too fast and I need to flee before he tries to grab me and hurt me. Before I started to move away. I felt someone behind me and grabbed me. I gasp and I jumped away from the person who grabbed me.
"Hey, sweetheart. Hi," I heard Jake speak in my ear. Because he is the one who touched my shoulder.
"Shh... It s okay." It's only me." Jake said and kissed my cheek.
"Don t forget about me Jake," Andrew said.
"And me," Matthew says. I heard him too.
I look behind me and I saw all three of them, staring at me with a concerned look on their face. I gave them a shy smile. I didn t want them to see I am scared and uncomfortable. Oh no, speaking uncomfortable, I turn back around, and I see an empty space, Joseph was gone. But I felt the guys being nice to me and trying to make me laugh and wrapping me in their arms. I was trying to talk to them and smile. But I was trying to figure out where did he go. I hope gone and leave me alone. I don t want to be alone or in a crowd with him ever again. Joseph scares me and his danger. I can t tell the guys what he said. I don t know what is his probably. I never did anything to anyone in my life.
"Oh, Avery, he just a big jerk, just stay out of his way." I heard Angelstar inside my mind.
Yeah, be careful, we need to not be alone anymore," I heard Angelica says inside my mind too.
Girls, it s okay. I will be fine; I try to tell them with confidence in my voice. But I knew they can tell I am full of shit. But I have to try not to let them know I am lying.
Avery, sweetheart?" I heard Jake I jumped out of my mind and went back to the present again. I looked over by my side. I see Jake on my left side, and I look over on my right side I see Andrew he had a worry and a serious look on his face.
Then Matthew was staying behind me because I felt his hand on my shoulders, I tensed up a little. But I hope he didn t feel it. But I was wrong.
"Avery, what s up? You re so tense" I heard Matthew say in a curious voice.
I need to tell them it s fine and don t give it away Avery, I told myself. So, pretend everything is okay.
That was when we started to walk away from the other student s bodies. Once I was walking and I had three most popular guys surround me, but then I had a thought.
I stop and then the guys stop.
Avery, what s wrong, why did you stop?" I heard Jake say.
So, I asked them.
"Where is he? Did you see him?" I asked them. I was asking them where Elijah is, last time I saw him was in the art class in a room where they were... I didn t want to finish it because I can feel my cheeks turning red.
"Who sweetheart?" Andrew asked me.
"Elijah, I said with a mumble under my breathe.
"Oh, I don t know princess," I heard Jake reply to the question I asked them.
Oh, okay. But before I told them I looked to the front I gasp and stopped in my tracks.
That was where I saw two sets of heated eyes standing in the middle of the other side of the hallway. He wasn t very far from us. I licked my lips. I wanted to go to him or him to come towards me. We stared at each other for a while. The guys didn t see what was happening yet. They were talking to each other. They didn t see me staring over at the tense man ten feet away from me. So, I begged him in my eyes to come for me. But then I felt this pain in my heart. I know something is wrong with him. One minute he is showing me, love, in his eyes. But then he starts to pull away from me.
Please, I am begging you? I am telling him with my eyes. At first, I wonder if he can understand what they saying to him. But then his hard expression came back, and the tense look in his eyes.
I need you, please. I licked my lips again. That was when I felt the tears falling down my cheeks. Before anyone saw them. I wiped them off my cheeks with my sleeve.
Why didn t he come with them? Why is he staying away from me?
What did I do wrong for him to look at me with anger and a tense face? But then still didn t move. But I thought I saw shame and concern in his eyes. But when I look closer, I saw he wasn t angry at me. He was angry at something else. But what? I am still trying to understand because I am confused.
Why is he giving me that anger and tense stare look then?

Why don t you go see him huh? I heard her say. I rolled my eyes at her.
That was when he stops looked away and started to turn away from me.
