Chapter 49
I had suspected it the moment I noticed how different Keylef's personality was from the man I had met at the nightclub. It was clearly César—the imposing gaze in the darkness, the way he made me feel both excited and scared. I looked away, not wanting to face it, but César took my chin, forcing me to look at him.
"Look at me…"
"No, this isn’t right… Mr. César, I’m not interested in you that way. What’s the point of continuing?" I said, placing my hands on his chest to create some space, but his sweet cologne intoxicated me.
"Why…? Did you dislike the kiss I gave you so much? You didn’t seem to want to push me away."
"It’s not that…"
"Oh, no? Then what’s the excuse you’ll give this time?" he said, stroking my hair, causing my entire body to shiver. What was happening to me? And why couldn’t I stop thinking about his lips? His hand slid from my cheek down to my lips, making me part them slightly.
"If you don’t like it, say so…" He leaned in closer, brushing his lips against mine. When he pulled back, he looked at me intently and asked,
"Do you want me to continue?" Unsure of what to say or even what I wanted, I saw the concerned look on his face. He sighed in frustration and got up, leaving me there.
"Forget it… I’m not going to force you to do something you don’t want to." He said, clearly disappointed, as he adjusted his tie. I bit my lip, feeling a strange sensation vibrating through my body. What was this…? It wasn’t more intense than what I felt every time I saw Mr. Keylef, but something stirred within me from the moment we met. I couldn’t stay with this feeling; I had to find out. I leaned toward him, placing my hand on his shoulder, and with newfound courage, I turned his face and leaned in to kiss him.

She kissed me on her own. It was a delicate kiss, inexperienced and awkward, but she did it herself. I wasn’t the only one who was struggling, feeling like a madman. I placed my hand on the back of her neck, deepening the kiss. I closed my eyes, following her clumsy rhythm. It seemed like just a kiss… but it was the epitome of the release I had been searching for.
"Belle, stick out your tongue." Panting quickly, I looked at her slightly flushed face. She shyly stuck out her tongue, making me smile slightly.
"Good girl." I ran my tongue over hers as she tried to follow my maddening movement. "You’re doing well… good job," I whispered against her lips, hooking onto her mouth like an addict to a drug, unable to stop.

This wasn’t right, but then why did it feel so good? Why didn’t it disgust me, despite knowing who he was and everything he had said? Something forbidden drew me to him… ever since that night at the club. I would surely regret this tomorrow, but the moment I saw his eyes full of frustration and disappointment, I couldn’t resist trying what I should never have desired.
"Let’s go." He took my hand, pulling me out of the car, leading me into a spiral from which there was no way out.
