CHAPTER 22

**(Freya's POV)**
Ever since our meeting today, I've been feeling uneasy and restless. I don't know what's happening to me, but I feel a strange feeling plaguing me that can't be explained in words.

I was upset and angry, but my heart was also beating very fast. Especially after Ash's statement telling me to marry him again. Did he mean what he said, or did he just want to play games with me?

I couldn't guess what he wanted from me at all, but I had to stay alert whenever I was around him. Whenever I was around him, I felt my energy drain away and I was helpless.

And that always makes me feel uneasy.

I probably should have contacted my lawyer and not agreed to meet Ash. From the start, I shouldn't have spent my time seeing him. After all, he was never going to do what I asked either, to stop interfering with my life and my children. Because his main goal was to destroy me.

Everything was going well before Ash showed up. And now everything is ruined. I don't want my mission to fail just because he keeps bothering me. And I can't use my powers to hurt humans either. So I couldn't do anything whenever Ash tried to bother me.

I touched my lips and my heart started beating very fast again.

Ever since I met Ash again, for some reason I felt my power change to become weak and uncontrollable. I became weak whenever I was around him.

"I should reduce my encounters with Ash," I said, "I'm afraid this will affect my strength even more, but... Why do I keep pounding whenever I'm around him?" I muttered.

I sat on the sofa feeling uneasy. Staring blankly at the television that I wasn't watching at all. I was unfocused and my mind was a mess.

I let out a long sigh before I got up from the sofa and planned to go to my room, but my cell phone rang.

My forehead furrowed as I saw Ash's name appear on my postal screen.

"What else do you want?" I snapped as I received his phone call.

"Where are you right now?" he asked.

"Of course, I'm at my house. What are you asking for?"

"Meet me right now."

"No way! Who do you think you are to tell me what to do?!" I ruffled my feathers. "Fuck off!"

I swore loudly as I ended our phone call. I was still upset with him about his marriage proposal. He thought I'd be happy if he asked me to marry him again while he was being rude to me.

"Fuck!" I cursed loudly as I threw my phone onto the couch.

"M-Mom?"
I glared as I saw Sia and Gia standing there, staring at me with their wide eyeballs. They were holding hands, looking scared and sad at the same time.

"Mom? Are you swearing at us?" asked Gia.

"No, no, no." I ran over and knelt down in front of them. "You guys misunderstood. I'm not angry or swearing at you two."

"Then who is Mommy mad at? There's no one here but the two of us," Gia said.

I am at a loss for words. I was confused when they heard me swearing even though I had always tried to show them good things because I didn't want them to learn bad things around them.

"Oh, no. It was just a mistake. You heard me wrong," I lied. "Why are you still not asleep? Hurry up and change into your pajamas and go to bed," I said, changing the subject.

"Okay, Mom."

"Good girl." I smiled and gently stroked their hair, then kissed them before telling them to go to their rooms. "Hurry back to your rooms." They nodded and ran towards the stairs.

I took back my cell phone and planned to call Daisy. I wanted to ask her opinion about using my lawyer to take care of my problem with Ash.

"Hello, Daisy. Are you still busy?" I asked when she took my call. Today she was on a business trip so she wasn't home. And I felt a little guilty for calling her at this time of the night when she should be resting.

"No, I just finished a meeting with my client. What's wrong?"

"I'm having a hard time. I got a letter from the court that Ash registered the custody of Sia and Gia. I don't want him to take my kids, Daisy. I have to do something," I said in a shaky voice.

"Oh, my... why would he go to that extent when he wasted you in the first place?"

"I don't know. He even proposed to me earlier." I massaged my temples. My head was throbbing from overthinking this matter. "I plan to contact my lawyer to take care of this matter."

"No, don't. It's best not to."

"Then what should I do?"
"In the meantime, you can monitor what he's going to do. And make a plan to counter it," Daisy said.

I let out a long breath. "Okay. Thank you, Daisy. Then I won't bother you anymore."

I sat down with a heavy sigh. Trouble had been coming thick and fast ever since I met Ash, and it was wearing me down. It made me frustrated and anxious all the time.

How could he propose to me so easily after what he did to me in the past? He even has a girlfriend. I couldn't get over it. If he was looking for trouble, why drag me into this vortex of suffering?

I just wanted to finish my mission. Punish the people who killed my parents and return to my planet with my children.

"Freya?" I turned around with shock on my face as Eric walked into my house.

"Eric?" I stood up and looked at him with a furrowed brow. "Why are you coming to my house at this time of night?" I asked.

"Did you forget? I sent you a message that I was coming to get your autograph," he informed me.

I touched my head while chuckling. "Oh, I guess I was too stressed to forget that. Sorry," I said, "sit down. Would you like me to make you a drink?"

"No need. I'll just be a minute." She sat down next to me while placing the file she was carrying on the glass table. "Did something happen? You said you were stressed?"

"Oh, it's just work. I've been really busy at the office the last few days," I lied.

"Are you sure there's nothing else? Because I don't have time to meet you in a few days."

"Why?" I asked.

"Tomorrow I'm already leaving for a business trip for a few days," he replied.

I let out a long sigh. Daisy was leaving and Eric was leaving too. I think I would be lonely if I didn't have those two in my life.

"Why did you look lethargic when I told you that I was going on a business trip?" he asked with a chuckle.

"Well, I'll be a little lonely," I replied.

"I'll be back soon. So, we can exchange messages. Or I'll call you later."

I nodded my head. "Of course."

"And stay careful with your ex-husband," Eric warned. My eyes widened as he looked at me. "He doesn't bother you anymore, does he?"

"No, he doesn't anymore."

"Look, don't hide anything from me. I'll always help you, Freya. If he bothers you again, just let me know."

"I know, thank you, Eric, for caring about us so much." I smiled. I meant it when I thanked him because he had been very good to me.

"And remember to call me my lover in front of him so he doesn't bother you anymore," he said with a chuckle.

I laughed too. "I see."

"Nice, then, I'll come back after you sign all the papers."

"Oh, okay." I immediately took the documents to the table and signed them.

After that Eric excused himself to leave. I walked him to the gate.

"See you later, Eric," I said to him.

"Uhm, see you later." I let him hug me tightly for a while. Until I saw a car pull up right in front of my house.

"A-Ash...."

I immediately let go of my hug and I saw Ash staring at us with his hands clenched into fists. The atmosphere became very tense.
