Chapter13

"Tch, damn! Why is she getting prettier?" Henry thought. He felt annoyed every time he remembered what Ruby said yesterday.

The coffee in the cup hadn't even been touched and was still intact. In front of and beside him, Jacob and Pierre looked at him confused.

"Never mind, forget it! I don't think he meant that!" Said Jacob, who was the person who couldn't forget yesterday's incident.

Pierre laughed amusedly, he had to admit that what happened yesterday was really surprising and made it hard for him to believe it. The woman they saw felt very different from the girl they used to know as Ruby who was fierce like a mother hen. Yes, there were so many nicknames they used to give him.

"I think maybe we should slowly try to forget the past. I think Ruby has changed a lot. There's no harm in us-" before Jacob had finished speaking. Henry immediately interrupted irritably.

"To forgive him, is that it? Hey, he always defends that bastard and turns on me even though I've apologized many times!"

"You're hurt because he rejected you, right?"

"Bastard! Who doesn't have a grudge against him? Even if he dies, I won't forgive him!"

"Then try telling the person directly!" Jacob said while glancing behind Henry.

Henry immediately looked back, right in front of the door, they saw Ruby coming in carrying a brown envelope. He stepped nervously over to the cashier's desk and handed over the brown envelope.

"What is he doing?"

They watched Ruby's movements and they could guess a little. Ruby sat on a chair and seemed to be waiting for something. However, what caught their attention was that her appearance and body language were very beautiful and graceful.

She let her long hair down and wore a mini dress above her knees which made her look very beautiful.

About five minutes into waiting, a middle-aged man approached him and asked him to enter one of the rooms in this cafe. It made them curious about what Ruby was actually doing in this place.

"What is he doing?" Jacob asked.

"I think he needs a job!" Henry said.

"Is it true?"

"That brown envelope must be a job application letter! Of course, he came back to this city to get a job!"

"Was there no job at his previous place that was suitable for him?"

"What job is suitable for a girl like her? No, wait a minute! I have an idea!" Henry smiled sarcastically as if he had found a brilliant idea.

Pierre and Jacob had a not-so-good feeling about this as if they already knew what was inside this man's head.

"Henry, I ask you to stop all the dirty plans in your head before it's too late!" Pierre said.

"Hey Pierre, come on! Can you not be prejudiced against me for now? I just thought that if he really needed a job, I thought I could help him."

They continued to observe the door where Ruby entered with the middle-aged man who smiled disgustingly at her 15 minutes ago. For some reason that made them a little worried about what Ruby was actually doing in there.

"Damn, what took you so long? What was he actually doing?" Said Henry, who was starting to get impatient waiting. Even though it looks like they don't care about her, they are actually quite curious about Ruby and what their former gang leader did when they were little.

Henry tapped his fingers on the table. He hates waiting the most, especially having to wait for someone he really hates. It felt like his intentions for revenge had simply faded away just from waiting.

Two minutes later, the door opened. Ruby came out with the perverted-faced middle-aged man with an attitude that for some reason made them immediately think dirty thoughts.

Ruby, who was initially wearing a cardigan, suddenly took off her cardigan and carried it in her hands, which again made the shape of her breasts quite clearly visible.

She smiled and was still talking to the man who kept looking at her chest. Henry felt annoyed and increasingly thought of Ruby as nothing more than a temptress. He didn't seem too bothered and was quite happy observing Ruby's curves from a distance. Meanwhile, Pierre and Jacob are two good men who don't want to be prejudiced because they don't know what really happened.

"You saw that, I told you that she deliberately exposed her body in front of men. Does she really want to be recognized as a woman that much?" Henry returns with his ramblings which are actually only based on his past grudges which are still not resolved.

"I don't think it's what you think! What if it's like what you said before?  Ruby needs a job that's why she came here to apply for a job?" Pierre, who can always think logically and hold back his bad prejudices, tries to wake Henry up from all his negative thoughts.

Jacob nodded in agreement, he felt that Ruby was not as bad as Henry thought. Just because he was bad to them in the past, doesn't mean he will do the same.

"But why would she take off her cardigan all over in that room with that middle-aged man with a perverted face?" Pierre pretended to ask just to provoke Henry into remaining strong with his prejudices. Seeing Pierre's behavior, Jacob immediately looked at him.

"What? Why? I was wrong again, weren't I?" He said while holding back laughter.

"That's right! Applying for a job in clothes like that is not normal. She should wear a shirt and skirt or trousers. Why does it have to be a mini dress with a cardigan? Not to mention that her big breasts are constantly diverting focus. What does that mean?" Henry said so innocently that he didn't realize that he had just shown his weakness.

"So you also focused on her breasts, right?"
