Chapter 16

A very busy day, Ruby didn't expect her first day of work to be as busy as this. She knew that this cafe had long been known to be very busy because of its delicious coffee. When she was little, she and Leo often passed by this cafe to see adults gathering and drinking coffee together. Even though it's delicious, the coffee here is known to be expensive for them.

When they were in high school, she drank coffee here several times and Henry was always the treat. Her pocket money was so large that any child would feel jealous.

"When I think back on it, I just get even more annoyed. Why does someone have to be born rich like him? Life isn't fair!" She muttered. This social gap is what made her beat Henry more often than the others. That's because she felt jealous.

"Hey waiter, bring the menu!"

Ruby shuddered, she heard that annoying voice again. Her eyes slowly turned to the source of the sound right at the same table as yesterday. Three men with handsome faces and athletic bodies sat down and gave her meaningful smiles.

All the women in this cafe will probably be immediately fascinated to see four attractive men sitting at the same table. Witnessing Lila being addressed with a smile like that, the women immediately felt jealous of her and thought that she was exactly like the heroines in telenovelas and also in romantic novels.

"I don't feel good! Why have they come again? And since when have they been there? Why didn't I notice?" She thought. She felt annoyed because her friends came again today. She didn't know that they hung out at this cafe quite often.

"Okay...!" With a heavy heart, she approached them carrying a menu and a small notebook to record orders.

As she stood in front of their table with a striking appearance, they could only stare at her from head to toe. Henry couldn't even hide his smile, until this moment, he still couldn't believe that the girl in front of him is Ruby.

"Why are you guys glaring at me like that?"

"Who's glaring at you? We just want to order coffee, please note!" Henry said.

"How was your first day at work? Was it fun?" Pierre asked.

"It was quite fun before until you guys came!"

"What do you mean?" Jacob asked.

"No, it's nothing! What do you want to order?"

"Americano two and Capuccino one!"

"Okay, I've noted it! Anything else to add?"

"So, how is the old man? He's still teasing you?" Pierre asked, still curious about the middle-aged man who was the manager of this cafe.

"Who do you mean? Manager?"

"Tsk, how many old men are there in this cafe? But you seem quite happy to be teased by him. Is that an advantage of being a beautiful woman, hmm?" Henry smiled disdainfully. He deliberately provoked Ruby's emotions to scold her in this place. Henry's tactics could be read clearly by her.

"You seem to admit that I am beautiful. Isn't that right, Mr. Henry? Ah, I mean, Young Master Henry Ferdinand Walter?" Ruby tried to remain patient and endure so that she wouldn't have to get into trouble just for responding to Henry's ramblings.

Ruby's answer actually made Henry even more excited. Honestly, right now in Henry's eyes, he looks very sexy, especially his brave attitude and rebellious side that has not disappeared from him.

Jacob sipped his coffee, in his heart he agreed with Ruby's words that they had to admit that she was a very beautiful woman. But she didn't want to act childish like Henry.

"You have a lot of confidence, huh? If you accepted my offer to work at one of my companies, I would definitely pay you a high salary. Besides, you don't have to get tired of standing and walking around all day!"

"Thank you for the offer, if it was Jake or Pierre's company, maybe I would consider it. But unfortunately, I don't want to deal with someone like you! So please just offer it to someone else who needs it more!" She said as she walked away.

Hearing Ruby's frontal rejection, Pierre and Jacob laughed. They had to admit that Ruby was really cool. Meanwhile, Henry had to hold back his irritation because until the end he still couldn't shut Ruby's mouth.

"Damn it! You arrogant woman!"

"Hahaha...that's because you started it first!" Pierre said.

"You'd better stop before your relationship gets worse!" Jacob said.

"Since when has our relationship been good? I don't care at all! Damn it, I just want to see him miserable for once! That way I-"

"Hi Miss, can I have your phone number?" Henry's words stopped when they heard a man sitting not far from where they were trying to tease Ruby who was taking down her order and two of her friends. Their eyes immediately turned towards Ruby and the man.

"Sorry, I'm working! Can you tell me your order?" Ruby tried to be patient and ignore the man's advances.

"How about you just write down my cell phone number? Don't forget to call me when you finish work! Or how about I pick you up? What time are you coming home?"

"Thank you for your offer, sir! I will consider it! Now, could you tell me the order?"
