Chapter 26

"Hahahaha...how does it feel? It really hurts, doesn't it? You idiot! How strong do you think your legs are?"

"Henry, I said stop it!" Said a woman who suddenly got out of the passenger seat and immediately approached Ruby who was sitting in pain.

"Oh my, are you okay? It really hurts, doesn't it?" The woman gently looked at Ruby's leg, which was red and looked like it would swell if not treated immediately.

"Aunt Tatiana, I'm fine! It's okay!" He said spontaneously when he saw the face of this blonde woman who he still knew very well.

Realizing that the young woman in front of him knew her name made him immediately observe Ruby carefully for 10 seconds before he finally looked confused.

"Sorry, do I know you?"

"She's Ruby, Mom!" Henry said.

"Ruby?"

"That crazy girl who used to fight with me when I was little!"

"Ruby? You mean Ruby Cohen? Your first close friend?"

"He doesn't consider me a friend at all!"

"Oh my God, are you really Ruby?" Henry's mother looked very surprised and could hardly believe that this beautiful young woman near her was the girl who many people used to think was a boy.

Lila who was at a loss for words could only smile awkwardly. And now, it seems she has to get involved with Henry even though she really doesn't want to.

"How are you, Auntie?" He said confusedly. Henry chuckled at her reaction.

"Never mind, no need to make small talk! My mother doesn't need to be questioned by someone like you!"

"Oh my, Henry. What's wrong with you? Why are you suddenly talking so much like this? I've been asking you questions ever since, you always answered briefly. OK, get Camila into the car! I'll treat her leg!"

"N-no need, Auntie! I'll go home and-"

"What is this, Mother? Just let him go home! He's fine! His legs are stronger than those of an elephant. So, there's nothing to worry about!"

"No! Quickly get Camila into the car!" Mistress Tatiana is as scary as ever. If you have said something, it cannot be denied.

Lila and Henry looked at each other in hatred, this was not an easy situation for them to face without Pierre, Jacob and Aiden who would usually intervene if an argument broke out between them. But they had no choice but to go with the flow.

"When are you coming back to Brisbane?" Mrs. Tatiana Walter asked while wrapping Lila's leg with a bandage that had been treated with antiseptic medicine.

"Auntie, let me do it-" Lila, who felt reluctant because her leg was being held, tried to take over the task of bandaging this leg.

"It's okay! Let me do it. Besides, you were hurt because of Henry's actions, so I can't let my son do something so irresponsible like that."

"What? Why was it my fault? He was the one who ran like a wild boar and kicked my car! Where did I go wrong?" Henry, who did not accept being blamed, immediately protested.

"Never mind, shut your mouth! If you hadn't made fun of him earlier, he wouldn't have done that!"

"What? When did I make fun of him?"

"Never mind, Auntie! Henry is right, it's my fault. Auntie should ask for compensation because I kicked the car, so-"

"Well, that's it! Exactly! My car was scratched by your tornado kick and now the car has to be taken to a repair shop. You have to pay the compensation costs!" Henry said enthusiastically, cornering Lila, who immediately stuttered and felt stupid for bringing up the issue of compensation, even though he wasn't serious about saying it.

Lila glanced at Henry who was smiling broadly and it seemed like his smile couldn't be any wider. Lila froze, she felt the cold wind blowing on her neck. His eyes turned around the main living room of this house which was very spacious with dozens of paintings and luxurious displays displayed on the walls.

Lila swallowed hard, she used to often go in and out of this house and even though she knew that this house was very big and luxurious, she didn't really know the true value of that luxury. Now that he knew how difficult it was to earn money, he wanted to cry every time he saw the luxurious paintings and displays that seemed impossible for a cafe waiter like him to have.

"Oh my, stop joking! You two are not children anymore! Camila, you haven't answered Auntie's question just now. When are you coming back to Brisbane? Didn't you and your family move a few years ago?"

"I returned to this city about ten days ago. My father, mother and older sister are still in Indonesia."

"Is that so? So, what is your purpose in returning to this city? Vacation? Or meeting your old friends?"

"Uhm... I came here to change the atmosphere and also miss my hometown."

"Is that so? How long have you been gone? Eight years? Ten years?"

"Ten years, I haven't been to this city for ten years."

"So, have you met your other friends? Pierre, Aiden, Jacob?"

"I met them at the school reunion, Auntie."

"Thank goodness! Well Henry, what now? Are you happy to see Camila again?" Mrs. Tatiana said, trying to tease her son with a question which made Henry's face immediately turn red.

"What are you talking about? Why should I be happy to see him again? I don't care at all whether he wants to come back to this city or not!" He said with fake annoyance.

Mrs. Tatiana chuckled at her son's predictable behavior. He knew exactly how Henry was when Lila suddenly left without saying anything to him and his other friends.

"Hahaha...Is that so? So, who was the one who had a fever for a week when he found out Lila was moving?"
