Chapter Twenty-One
Zion’s pov
The dinning room was set for a formal event. I wore a long black spaghetti strap dress with feathers lining the the neckline, I had short backless heels with matching feathers at the top near the toes. My mates suits matched mine dress they wore black on black. Everyone who sat at the long dining table was dressed just as nicely, my brother looking handsome in his first suit, the tailor did a great job on it.
Everyone stood as we walked into the room showing their respect. My dad nudged Leo motioning for him to stand before he stammered to his feet. He didn’t know any better and wasn’t yet accustomed to our ways.
I caught a glimpse of Eli sitting between Loufy and Elijah. He stood up slower than the others wincing as he got to he feet. He could’ve stayed seated for all I cared. I wouldn’t have taken offense we all knew he was still recovering.
We quickly took our seats and the others bowed before taking their seats. Leo again missing the beat as he sat down only after noticing the others.
“Tonight we celebrate, and welcome three new members to Bloodmoon pack. We have sustained many casualties, but in the end we prevailed. I want to honor their sacrifice with a toast. For our fallen.” Iliam spoke raising his glass of champagne and everyone followed suit.
“For our fallen.” They all said in unison before we all sipped from our glasses.
Ethar stood up heading to the chair that sat in the middle of the dining hall.
“Before we feast, Nigel, Quazzi, Leo please come forward.” Ethar called out. My family walked towards where he sat and stood shoulder to shoulder in front of him. Iliam and I stood up and took our place on each side of Ethar.
“If it pleases the pack and the Goddess Treaty, the Calhoun family has agreed to denounce the Hunter Legion and pledge themselves to Bloodmoon Pack if anyone has any objections, please say so now.” Ethar spoke out to the leaders in the room.
I glanced around the room, Alpha Aya , Count Loufy, Captain Tali, Johaness, Sebastian, Gresham, Toto and Francis all nodded in agreement. A sign for the Alpha to proceed.
One of the pack elders walked over with a chalice and handed it to Ethar along with a jeweled dagger. Ethar cut the palm of his hand squeezing his blood into the chalice before handing the dagger to Iliam. Iliam did the same and leant over squeezing his blood into the chalice and handing the dagger to me. I mimicked their actions and did the same hissing at the pain before squeezing mine into the chalice as well.
I took the chalice from Ethar and walked it over to my father before returning to Ethar’s side.
“Let the Goddess bare witness that I denounce the Hunter Legion and willingly relinquish my magic. I Beta Nigel Calhoun pledge my self to Alpha Ethar, Alpha Iliam, and Luna Zion of Bloodmoon pack.” My father spoke before drinking from the chalice. He nearly fell to his knees as the pledge took affect. I turned away from the sight of my father in pain. But as quickly as the pain began it faded and my father stood straight up before kneeling in front of us voluntarily.
My mother recited the same words and kneeled in front of me and my mates.
Leo followed suit, but did not denounce his magic. Instead just pledging himself to bloodmoon pack. After each pledge I felt the pack link expand to my family as they were accepted into my new found family and pack.
I began to head back to my seat, but Ethar grabbed my hand and held me back. I glanced at him in confusion before he stood and spoke.
“I am naming Leo Magnar Calhoun Beta of Bloodmoon pack if you would accept.” He spoke his eyes meeting my brother as he voiced his decision to the crowd.
“I… I accept. It would be an honor.” My brother spoke and for a second the grace of his words didn’t have a glimmer of doubt in them. Even though he was new to all this I had hope he would learn quickly. He bowed before heading back to the table. The whole room erupted in howls of celebration as the pack was beginning to feel whole again.
All I could do was smile with pride. I had even more reason to help Leo learn to shift now. My little brother would be the youngest in history to hold the Beta title. I watched as my dad hugged him and everyone at the table gave their congratulations.
The howls subsided and turned to hungry growls as the feast commenced.
The next morning was humming with excitement, the pack was all but dancing in the streets after an eventful evening, and the victory of the battle before.
I opened my eyes and watched Ethar darting back and forth across the room getting ready for the day. Iliam’s snoring let me know he had no intention of waking up anytime soon.
With everything going on the past week or so, I found myself missing my mate. Ethar was under so much pressure, and always put responsibility of the pack first, leaving little time for us to enjoy each other’s company.
“Good morning gorgeous.” He said noticing that I was up. I reached my hand out for him to come back and cuddle.
He chuckled at the sight, but continued to run about the room. I swung my legs off the bed standing in front of him to stop him in his tracks.
He looked down at me as my glare met his beautiful deep dark blue eyes. I placed my hands on his chest and he wrapped his arms around my waist, I stood on my tippy toes reaching for a kiss. He didn’t leave me hanging and met me half way. Everything about him had my core throbbing with need. When his lips touched mine an involuntary moan escaped them.
“Don’t do that.” He whispered against my mouth.
“Do what” I questioned before pulling back to look at him.
“Your so responsive to my touch. I can’t walk out of here and face the Treaty with a raging hard on.” He said moving his head to the crook of my neck inhaling my sent. When his lips reached his mark on my neck, I let out a much louder moan, just to get him going as I felt tingles radiate through my body making a pool of arousal in my panties.
“Fuck!” He breathed against my neck, and I felt his erection pulsing against my stomach.
“Then don’t walk out.” I tell him. I felt him smile against my ear before he nipped it. Making me hiss before his tongue soothe the area.
His scent , his voice, his tongue overloaded my scenes, at this point there was no way I was letting him leave the room until we both got what I knew we needed.
I pulled from his embrace and pushed him down into the chair across from the bed. He didn’t even fight me, and that let me know he needed me just as bad as I needed him. He pulled me down onto his lap with such dominant force, I could’ve exploded right then when I felt his length press against my throbbing clit.
One of his hands slid into my hair, he took a large fist of it in his hand and pulled me down crashing my lips to his. His other hand reached underneath my night gown finding my nipples that were standing at attention for him. He rubbed one in between his thumb and his finger, pinching it softly before moving to the other.
“Ethar.” I moaned, my breath was panting as he swallowed each moan. I reached down between us undoing his buckle, he sat up letting me pull his pants down slightly before his bulging erection sprung free. I rotated my hips to create friction as his cock rubbed against the thin layer of fabric between it and the dripping wet channel that was yearning to be filled.
“Tell me what you need baby.” He ordered. His voice panting as he broke the kiss and peered into my eyes. His eyes flickered from bright blue to their regular shade as he waited for my answer. I looked him dead in the eyes, grabbed his head with both my hands.
“Make love to me Ethar.” I ordered back and with one fluid motion, he ripped my panties off and slid inside me. He pulled me down on him to the hilt and I gasped at the sudden intrusion. He held my gaze as he sat me up almost pulling out, pausing for a second before slamming me back down on his length. I became undone in the matter of seconds as I held his lustful glare. My hips moved with his powerful rhythm as I met each thrust. I squeezed my thighs together as I felt my climax brimming. He ripped my night gown off before taking one of my swollen buds into his mouth still holding my gaze. I broke the eye contact as my eyes fluttered when the ocean of my orgasm spilled from me coating his cock. My moans and his grunts echoed around the room as I rode out the climax and he found his release shortly after. He grabbed my chin pulling me down placing a gently kiss on my lips.
If it wasn’t for his low growl, I wouldn’t have noticed Iliam was in the bed awake and erect. I jumped off Ethar’s lap and ran into the bathroom and cut on the shower. Just as I expected Iliam followed.
“Not so fast.” He growled pulling me against him as I tried to step into the shower.
“Absolutely not, you sleep in every morning letting Ethar handle Pack duties for the both of you. Since your awake get dressed and go with him. No more slacking Alphaaa..” I tell him dragging out the last “A”, tapping his nose like a toddler before breaking his embrace.
He growled in defeat. Starring in disbelief as I stepped into the shower.
“Your gonna leave me like this after that little display.” He whined stroking his throbbing erection.
I ignored him as I began washing up.
Ethar’s Laughter erupted from the bedroom. As Iliam left the bathroom defeated.
Iliam’s pov
My mood was fucked up for most of the day after the sexy siren left me hanging. I was irritated to say the least.
The day seemed to drag on slowly. I followed Ethar around as we went to meetings. We met with the families of our fallen. I watched as he reconstructed the scout rotation. I even went with him to the fucking bank. Why did he need me with him to do something as simple as make a cash deposit. I followed him around all damn day like a lost puppy. I never asked to be an Alpha, I was made one by the moon goddess. It’s not like I was gonna question her blessing in the moment but damn, being Alpha was a job I hadn’t signed up for. My sexual frustration didn’t make it any better. I did as I was ordered and stayed with the asshole all day to please the minx and hoped she would reward me later.
“She is right you know.” Ethar said pulling me from my pouting. As he read my emotions.
“I’ve been letting you slide Iliam. Taking the blunt of the responsibility of being Alpha alone, I understood you didn’t sign up for any of this.” He said without even glancing in my direction.
A grim look crept up on his face before he sighed and looked at me watching him.
“If anything ever happens to me , I need to know not just our mate, but the pack is in good hands.” He said before returning his attention to the paperwork on his desk.
His statement was unsettling. What was up with his pessimistic attitude. His words made bile rise to my throat.
“I will not listen to you contemplate, no, prepare for your own death. What the fuck is that Ethar?” I snapped at him for even letting the thought of him leaving us even cross his mind.
He stood up and sighed. He ran his fingers through his hair and for the first time I could see his exhaustion written all over him.
“Listen I’m not counting myself out or anything like that, but we have been hit left and right with little reprieve or time to recuperate. I don’t know what the future holds. After losing Roy I think it’s a necessity to at the very least prepare for the worst.” He explained.
I couldn’t even look him in the face as I took in his heavy words. He walked over and sat beside me on the couch.
I began to flashback to the time when he first found me. I was 23 years old. It was a simpler time. Spain 1918, the Spanish flu rocked the population. I grew up as an orphan, I met Ethar when his search for the Calhouns led him to the country. They were said to be hiding out in a convent near by. Even though people were already dropping like flies as the flu turned to a pandemic, I was already sick but I was on a mission. I made a vow to myself and a few of my brothers who grew up with me to bring the man who fostered us and took advantage of young boys like us to justice. With my last few days I wanted to make them count and find the sick fucker and make him pay. I sat at a bar in town where the Alpha sat and listened to my liquor fueled confession of my plans to murder the man who was responsible for the anger and the resentment I held against humanity. The Alpha walked a very intoxicated me to the inn where I had my humble bed waiting for me.
He didn’t leave my side as I shivered through the night as the fever took over me. I almost thought I was a dreaming when I saw his canines protrude from his gums in my drunken fevered haze. He leant down and whispered in my ear.
“I’m offering you life and chance to fulfill your vow. In return you will stand beside me, and I promise to stand beside you against any foe you may face. I can hear your heart struggling to beat. You will not make it through the night. If you accept, you will have a family, a pack. A brotherhood.” He whispered
I stared into the eyes of a beast before I closing my eyes and noding. I didn’t even question it. All I ever wanted was a real family. If what he was promising was true I wanted in. I was dying anyway.
“This is gonna hurt like a bitch. Turning instead of being born is pure agony but I’ll be with you until it ends.” Were his last words, Before his bite pierced my skin. Ethar marked me a long time ago. Not as mates mark each other, but it formed a bond nonetheless. He was tied to me and I him forever.
I was pulled from my recollection of events when he placed his arm around my shoulder as he felt my emotions going haywire.
“I will not lose you Ethar, don’t even think about it. I would give my life before I let anyone take you away from me.” I turned to face him so he could see the seriousness in my eyes.
“As would I Brother.” He responded smirking.
“Then how about we stay alive. If we died Zion would bring us back to life and kill us both.” I joked trying to lighten the mood.
“Deal.” He nodded.
