Chapter Twenty-Six

Unknown pov

“You have done well, now we wait , any efforts to deny me what was promised it’s up to you to make sure they don’t succeed.” Hella said to me.

“And why did u let Iliam come back? I could’ve been found out. I put myself at great risk killing him just for you to bring him back anyway.” I questioned, annoyed at the fact the whole deed seemed to be for nothing.

“It all had to happen the way it did. She needed to feel hopeless and had given into Despair, she wouldn’t have agreed any other way.” Hella answered

“I see, now that the children are born they will do all they can to protect them, I won’t be able to do much and keep my identity a secret at the same time.” I explained

“Don’t worry about that , you don’t have to do anything until I tell you, right now just play your role, have fun with your little mate, when I call on you again rest assured vengeance will be yours.” Hella chuckled out a devious smile on her face as we watched the happy family from the underworld.

They were so blind to not have figured it out yet. I had been right in front of their faces the whole time.

Iliam’s pov

“Your kidding.” I blurted out in shock at the information I was receiving. My grip on the phone tightened almost crushing it in my hands.

“Afraid not, they told me as soon as they arrived home. Your daughter Gia is indeed their mate.” Loufy explained referring to the vampire bastard twin nephews.

“No fucking way! Nope! Why didn’t they bring this to the Alphas, and her fathers when they were here.” I demanded the answer, but given the reaction I was having I could guess..

Smart little fuckers.

“Well they felt it was best to tell me first.” He answered and I could basically hear his grin through the phone.

“*Right.* Tell the the clever bastards it’s not me they have to worry about!” I warned before slamming the phone on the desk finally shattering the poor thing.

‘Gia apparently has a mate.’ I mindlink Zi and Ethar who were busy getting it on god knows where.

The sudden shock whipping through the bond made me smile knowing I had broken up their little rendezvous. If I had to be furious they had to be too.

‘Well Mates, as in more than one.’ I corrected.

Right on cue A half naked Ethar busted through the door of the office.

“She’s 1!” He exclaimed.

“How can she have a mate. Who is he? Or They? Them?…” He rambled on with confusion walking toward me like he wanted to send me back to the goddess himself.

“Don’t shoot the messenger.” I said throwing my hands up in surrender.

I quickly noticed the poor choice of words since a few months ago I had actually been shot and died. Ethar’s face fell for a second before being brought back to reality.

“Eli and Elijah.” I explained who the suitors were.

“Why didn’t they say anything.” He asked and I rolled my eyes and he shook his head also not needing an answer to the question. It was obvious.

“Well isn’t that just wonderful.” Zi said walking in trying to tame her bed head which was from anything but a bed, but from whatever wall, tree, couch, closet, or table they had decided to fuck on.

“Umm honey.. please don’t be upset by me asking, but are you well? Because only someone straight out the looney bin would say such a thing.” I tell her looking into her eyes making sure the darkness hadn’t turned her completely mad.

“You guys are such prudes. Gia is a Tribrid did you not think she would have a mate, or two for that matter, am I not walking proof that it’s possible.” She explained swatting my hands away from her face before finding the couch and taking a seat.

What she said was making sense, but it did nothing to calm me or Raziel for that matter.

‘Don’t worry, we can just murder them both. Problem solved’ he growled.

And I huffed in satisfaction of his idea.

“You will do no such thing. The twins are strong respectable young men, they are the Epitome of good manners and elegance. I don’t see a better match.” Zion defended. And I rolled my eyes and dropped into the seat next to her heavily.

“If you like em so much marry em then.” It was a weak childish rebuttal, but a rebuttal nonetheless. She was right though, Gia would be well looked after with those two by her side.

“We do not tell Gia what we know, and we order the twins to do the same. Fated or not she will choose who she wants to be with. When she turns 16 if her wolf recognizes them also then so be it.” Ethar demanded and both my mate and I nodded in agreement.

“Since we are all hear I need to bring something to your attention.” Ethar informed sternly. Whatever it was had to be serious. We both watched him intently as he took a seat in his chair.

“As you both know the shooter from the coupling event was never found. The only lead we were able to recover was from Seb, she was able time find an unfamiliar trace a shelter magic used to conceal one’s presence sort of like what the brigade uses to stay hidden, but this had more of a sinister aura.” He explained.

“I’m sure we all guessed by now Hella had something to do with it, but whoever the shooter was didn’t trip any of our border alarms, even concealed they would have set them off. With this new information I can only gather that the attack came from inside the pack.” His last words shocked me.

The pack? My Pack? Murdered me? What the actual fuck was going on? I stood up but didn’t speak as I took in everything. So many emotions ran through me but the one that made the surface was hurt. These people were my family. Or so I thought.

“First we need to look at anyone who was not present during the games. Albizi is putting together a list. Iliam whoever is responsible will be dealt with.” He continued, him addressing me directly drew my attention from my thoughts.

Back in my surroundings I finally noticed Zi about to break down. It was a touchy subject for all of us it seemed. I sat back down next to her and draped my arm around her shoulder. I had to toughen up for her sake.
‘Thank you.’ Ethar mind linked obviously he had noticed the same thing I did. I gave him a quick nod. After a few seconds in my arms her mood calmed.

“Seb is on her way with the girls, I’m going to meet her.” No quicker than she said it she was out the door. When the door shut, I didn’t even get a chance to respond before Ethar kept on.

“Whoever they are, they’re probably new to the pack.” He said a thoughtful look on his face.

‘Leo?’ Raziel questions as we both pondered.

‘Can’t be, he was right next to us.’ I assured him the culprit couldn’t be our brother-in-law.

“I thought the same thing at first Raziel, but He is right , Leo was right next to us the whole time. We will just have to wait for Albizi’s findings and go from there.” Ethar said.

I knew it would not stop me from racking my brain about who the traitor could be. Had they always been a traitor, could one of our own really turn on us.
