15 - Morning Conflict

*What the hell is going on in here? – Gator*
The sun was just starting to peek over the horizon and through the windows of the New Orleans clubhouse when Darkness became aware of people moving around him. Vaguely he remembered coming in late last night, or early this morning, and both of their rooms had been commandeered. Neither wanted to chase either couple out, and they certainly did not want to sleep on sheets that were covered in some strangers’ jizz.
They had settled in together on the couch with Tink on the floor. Currently, they were stretched out on the couch with Camille laying half on top of him and half against the back of the couch. He tried to move away from Camille to get up, but two things stopped him.
Every time he moved her, she returned back to her position and tightened her hold on him.
Tink gave a warning growl as one of the local brothers walked into the room. Opossum was a few years older than Camille and had made it abundantly clear that he was interested in her. She had made it just as abundantly clear that she was not interested.
“Aren’t you two adorable?” Opossum chuckled as he snapped a picture.
“Damn straight I am.” Darkness replied. “I’ve got to piss.”
“So just move her.” Opossum said, reaching for Camille. Tink gave his warning growl and Darkness and the other brothers from Baton Rouge tried to tell him to leave her alone.
“You don’t want to do that.” Darkness said quietly.
“No, seriously,” Peanut agreed, “you don’t want to piss off that dog.”
The instant Opossum’s hand touched Camille’s arm, Tink attacked. He popped to his feet as he snarled and snapped in a final warning.
“Tinkerbelle.” Camille whispered.
“What the hell?” the scared man asked her as he looked at a very angry Doberman.
“Take your hand off me and hold both hands up.” She said softly and he followed her instructions. “Slowly, step away. Don’t make any sudden movements.”
Tink kept his eyes on the new man as he moved away from Camille. The deep warning growl continued to emanate from the back of his throat.
“Tinkerbelle.” She said again in warning as Opossum made a move that the dog did not like. Just as the dog lunged, both Darkness and Camille grabbed the handle on his vest.
She spoke in German for a moment and the dog began to calm down.
“You got him?” Darkness asked.
“Yeah.” She said as began to praise Tink and tell he was a good boy.
Darkness gave him a scratch on the head before standing up and walking towards the bathroom. “Good boy, Tink.”
“You want me to get him a good boy treat?” Swamp Thang asked, and Camile nodded.
“A good boy?” Opossum asked angrily. “He tried to kill me!”
“His job is to keep me safe. And that includes protecting me when I’m asleep.” Camille told him as she scratched Tink on his neck and behind his ears. Swamp Thang handed over a bag of beef jerky style dog treats. “Thanks.”
“Stupid dog. Keep that thing away from me, or else.” Opossum warned angrily.
“Seriously?” Gator demanded as he walked into the room. “Did you just threaten her?”
“That damned dog!” Opossum argued.
The two men yelled back and forth and then the local president and Zydeco got into the argument. The brothers from Baton Rouge defended Tink and his actions while the ones from New Orleans condemned the dog. The whole time, Camille ignored the argument, keeping Tink’s attention on her and the treats and not the man that looked like a Doberman chew toy.
It all stopped when Darkness stormed back into the room and lifted Opossum up by his throat. The younger man’s face turned red, and he clawed at the large hand cutting off his air. Not even Zydeco or Gator would get in the middle of that. As far as they were concerned, there was about to be a body that needed to be dropped off in the local alligator infested swamp.
A small pale hand rested on the large dark muscular forearm. Her other hand touched his cheek.
“Darkness.” Camille whispered calmly. “Let him go.”
“No.” he said tightening his grip.
“Yes,” she said quietly. “Amos. Let him go. If he threatens me again, I’ll call Dom.”
“She’s too far away. I’m here.”
“And the last man that touched me without my consent has never been found. I can call Dom now, tell her that he touched me and threatened the dog that she got me.”
His eyes flicked to her face for a brief second.
“She’s already headed down with Taz. By the time she gets here, he’ll be feeling safe and secure. And she’ll be so fucking excited to play in his blood, she’ll practically be coming as she walks.”
His grip lessened slightly. Dark haunted eyes focused on the young woman standing between him and the man that touched what was his. Even if there was no patch, everyone knew that Camile belonged to Darkness.
“He touched you.”
“And nothing more. It’s nothing to lose his life over. He’s learned his lesson.”
Darkness looked at her and the man slipped from his grasp. A dark hand caressed her pale cheek and she smiled. Tink gave a warning growl and Camille made a soft hissing noise. After a quick command in German, the dog grew quiet and lay down. His body was pressed against her ankles and his head rested on her feet.
Opossum gasped for breath behind her. Angry eyes moved back and forth between the dog and the large man.
“Let’s go change and we’ll take Tink for a run.” She suggested and Darkness nodded.
With a warning glare at the younger man, Darkness turned and went to his assigned room. Camille wrapped her arms around herself and closed her eyes. She took several cleansing breaths as she pushed down her panic attack.
“Cher.” Gator said gently caressing her cheek. “What the fuck is going on between you two?”
She chuckled and looked at him. “Nothing, daddy.”
Gator smirked at her response. She had taken to calling his Daddy whenever he started acting way too protective. And according to her, more protective than her own father. “Are you sure, Cher?”
“Yes, daddy, I’m sure. But when you’re the only two people who don’t sleep, you spend a lot of time together.”
“Take them both for a run. Don’t bring them back until the urge to murder the idiot has passed.”
Camille hugged the president around his neck and then kissed his cheek, “Aye, aye, Captain.”
