Chapter 20

Ron Pov.
I couldn't get anything done last night until I went over to Amanda's house to check on her. Not finding her at home only made me more stressed.
If only I knew where that guy was so I could go look for him... But I didn't even know his name, so I had to wait until morning, tossing and turning in bed trying to fall asleep.
Of course I ended up hitting the punching bag to calm my mind.
In the morning, I took a shower and changed my clothes, then I went to the Faculty where Amanda studies.
The moment I see her, I swear I...I don't know what I'm doing to her.
I ask the secretary to let the teacher know that I'm looking for her, and after she makes a phone call, her Literature teacher shows up in five minutes.
- Good morning, Mr. Stallion. How can I help you? The old man asks me with the same warm smile I've seen so many times.
The teachers know me quite well because this is not the first time I have come here. I was present at all of Amanda's successes, since her mother was away.
-I'd like to talk to Miss Clark for a bit, if I may.
The teacher checks his tablet, then adjusts his glasses better on his nose.
-I am sorry. Miss Clark is not in class. I thought you knew.
I try not to react negatively to receiving the news that Amanda is not present and say "goodbye" to the teacher.
Ok...It's none of my business what Amanda does. It's not my business anymore since she came of age. But one thing I know for sure about her... She wouldn't neglect her classes because of a man. No matter how good he is.
I get to the car and stop for a moment looking left and right wondering where to look for her since her phone is still off.
The last time I saw her and was with her was at the beach. I think I will go there again.
I get in the car and drive to the beach, clutching the steering wheel quite hard.
If she decided to stay on the beach and I find her making love to that guy…I don't think I want to know that scenario.
Amanda is not like that.
I get out of the car and decide to take a walk on the beach. Maybe I'll see her somewhere.
After a few minutes of walking, I still don't see Amanda anywhere but I do see that former high school classmate of hers running on the beach.
Just the person I wanted to see.
-Excuse me... You are Amanda's former high school classmate, right? I'm just asking because I don't want to scare him.
And if I took it hard, Amanda would find out and she wouldn't be too happy that I couldn't control myself.
- Yes, I'm Roger. He says as if too proud of himself.
Of course you are…
-Roger...Do you happen to know where Amanda is?
He shakes his head and I'm ready to explode.
God damn it...
-Excuse me, but who are you?
I don't have time for discussions right now.
- Stallion. Ron Stallion. I say quickly and call Amanda one more time.
- Ok... Stallion. What is your relationship with Amanda?
Is this man for real?!
-Does it matter? I can't find Amanda.
- Maybe she’s in class.
Okay, Sherlock…
- She is not in class. I already looked for it there. She doesn't answer the phone.
Why the hell am I still talking to him?
- I'll help you look for it.
-Why would you do that, please?
-Amanda...she was my friend in high school. In fact, to put it simply, it was the only one that didn't fall at my feet.
Exactly as I know Amanda.
-You were with her last night. Did she tell you if he was going somewhere?
Roger takes it in stride and I follow him wanting to hear his reply.
-It was late when we left the beach and I told her she could sleep at my place for the night, but she refused. Probably, she thought I wanted to go to her.

-And you wanted to? Go for it?
If he says "yes" I will curse him on the spot.
- No, I already have a girlfriend.
Ok...I calmed down a bit.
After walking for some time, we stop in front of a villa and Roger enters it.
I don't get it in because I'm busy calling and texting Amanda.
Give a sign, please. Any sign... To at least know you're okay.
- Okay. Let's go to the police. Said Roger leaving the villa changed into other clothes.
-It will take forever for them to find her. I say nervously.
Is that his plan? Shall we make her disappear? The police will not look for her until twenty-four hours have passed since she has been missing.
-It will not last long. My girlfriend's father is a policeman. We will talk to him directly.
Ok...I'm starting to like the guy. It is clear that he is not interested in Amanda on a romantic level, and on top of that, he offered to help me. Who does this?
-My car is on the beach. I answer thinking about how much time I will lose to get back to the car.
- We'll take my car. Then, a driver of mine will take your car to your address.Qq
I quickly nod, not wanting to waste another second, and follow him to the car.
I don't know why I'm not surprised that he has a sports car.
I hate sports cars. They don't seem practical at all. But I'm not here to criticize his car choices. I just want to find Amanda.
Roger starts the car as soon as I get in and I feel like I should buckle up because I don't know him at all and I have no idea how fast he's going to drive.
I will feel safer with the belt. The last thing I want is to die in a car accident before I find Amanda.
As I had a hunch, Roger almost flies the car as soon as we hit the road.
I will never let Amanda ride with him.
