Chapter 28

SIX: Friends
I am now sitting in the frontseat of Riguel"s car. I don"t know how they allowed me as long as I knew I agreed. I can't let my boredom roam around in that place. I can not do it.
In the backseat are Jax, Jizan, Ryl, and Selestine. Selestine is the cousin of Ryl and Riguel, she is full blooded german, because Riguel's family is said to be of German descent, on their mother's side. That makes Riguel and Ryl half german, well that explains their looks. She looks like so soft, she looks very modest and her aura is kind. I don't see any harm in her at all.
"You know what Evie, you're going to love this night spot! You're the first woman we don't have in our family to come here." Smiling Riguel said, I tried to smile at him. And looked around.
It's all trees and a road with only one lane.
"Yeah right! We always come here if there's an event we don't like." I heard Jax said at the back. I looked at him in the mirror and I could clearly see his smile.
I leaned your head on the headrest of Riguel's car seat. I always hear only bullies, I can't participate because I don't know what to say.
"You're going to love this place, Evie. Especially at night, there are a lot of events there every night." I nodded at Selestine's statement. I don"t know what I should say.
"Do you always go around every anniversary?" Jax asked.
"Nah, I usually spend time in Dad's vault. Because OS was always the venue back then." I said.
"Vault? You mean the vault where he hid all his weapons?" Selestine asked this time.
I immediately shook. "No, the vault where he stays when he stays in OS it's like a condominium."
They were shocked by what I said and couldn't believe it.
"Oh, I see. I haven't been to OS before, so I don't know anything about vaults." Selestine said simply. Selestine is really pretty, because of her german blood. Besides, it's surprising that he's good at Filipino, even though he grew up here.
"You should visit sometimes, have fun there." I suggested.
"Nah, you shouldn't." Jizan laughed. I turned to him, because of what he said. There's a playful smirk playing on his lips so I just turned around.
"What? Why Kuya Jizan?" I heard Selestine's soft voice became more softer. Tsk, she likes Jizan?
"I've been trained there, and it was a disaster. Only monsters can survive that place." I raised an eyebrow at what Jizan said, oh. So he's been there already? He's been trained? I wonder if he graduated.
"Is it dangerous there?" I don't know if Selestine is just acting innocent or she is really had no idea about what the OS is.
"Yes, super." That was Jizan's only response, I looked at him again and I saw he was just looking at me. I was startled at first but recovered immediately and threw him a death glare. Jerk.
"Did you train there too?" I heard Riguel ask, I looked at him and he was seriously looking at the road.
"Uhm, nope. I didn't. I am not planning to take over Dad's position." I noticed he was surprised by what I said.
"What? You won't?" Jax asked in the back, I looked at them again.
"But why? You're the one expected to take over your Daddy's position." Jax added. Me? Expected as a heir?
"Nah, no. The son gets the throne, we daughters gets the money, properties and all." I said. They couldn't seem to believe what I said.
"Woah. I can't believe this, everybody in the organization expects you to take over the position of your father." Riguel said.
"Why?"
"Bceause you are the first child?" Jax's question answered me.
"Yeah, but the son gets the position. That's how it works in our family." I just said. Since childhood, I really liked Dad's position in the organization, but now that I'm older I realize I can't do that.
That I can't be a mafia, because that's a huge responsibility. Plus, Dad's position is so high. And Dad thinks that I can't handle it. So to Soren that goes, I respect Dad's opinion and I am setting my own dreams now. And I think there are things that really aren"t really for me.
"Woah, your family's weird. We're the oldest to take over that means Jizan will take over Zoldyck's" Jax said, that's really not the point here because they're both men so there's no problem.
Plus, Tito Manzo's position is far. So maybe not too busy.
"Ours too, I'll be taking over the Traspe's soon." I heard Riguel say.
"Awesome, I am in a car with two future mafia bosses. Cool." Comment, they just laughed at my statement.
"But being in the same car of the mayor's daughter is cooler." I stopped at what Riguel said, I stared at him and he turned to me.
He just flashed his innocent smile. He didn't mention about me being the daughter of the First Mafia Boss, this is the first time hanging out with someone who doesn't generalize the thick line between us. Everything seemed casual as if I was just a normal person.
And this feels good. Riguel was the first person not to be afraid of my parent"s position. He is the first.
"Oh, Rigo. You forgot about her being the daughter of the first mafia boss ㅡ"
"Nah, let's just drop everything related to the organization. What matters here is our friendship." Friendship ... friends? Me, having friends? This is not so me.
I don't remember being friends with anyone aside from our relatives. I've never been a friend, it's just me and Avie now and then. And having friends who are not from our family is refreshing.
"We're all friends here, right?" I heard Riguel ask again.
I looked at him and I was surprised to see that he was also looking at me. Is he asking me that question?
His eyebrows rose again as if waiting for my answer.
"Right, Evie?" He asked again and looked back at the road.
"Yeah, right." I whispered softly.
A smile immediately flashed on Riguel's lips because of my answer.
Friends.

SEVEN: Happiness
Only laughter I hear around me. So this is the night spot they are saying, it's like a secret place, the surroundings are surrounded by trees. This place has falls, it amazed me so much because of the crystal clear water. There is also a gazebo on the side, and also I can see fireflies flickering everywhere.
This is so beautiful, plus the moon is brightly shining above us. I have not been informed that there is such beauty in our area. And Riguel seemed to be very ready for this event because they actually brought swimwear, but I didn't bring anything so I could do nothing but watch them.
"Jizan! Get the food ready!" Riguel shouted, Jizan immediately came up from the water and I could clearly see how his wet tshirt stuck to his body. He has a great body shape, he is not too muscular nor too thin.
He walked closer to where I was, so I immediately adjusted my seat.
"Hi there, Evie. You should swim, cold water feels good." She said with a smile as she arranged the dishes on the gazebo table.
"Uhm, I don't even have swim wear. Besides, it might be a bad idea swimming because my makeup will be erased and my hair style will be changed, Mommy might find out." I explained. He nodded at what I said. I immediately picked up the throw pillow and hugged it, getting cold from the depth of the night.
He took a glance at me and seemed to notice that I was getting cold so he immediately took his coat and presented it to me. I looked at him for what he did.
"What are you doing?" I'm confused question.
"Wear this, the night will be even colder later. It might harden." I accepted his offer because I don't have the right to act anymore because it's already cold. I wore his coat and I smiled at the heat I felt.
"Aren't you going back there? Have fun first." I said while watching him wiping his body with a towel.
"Nah, I'll be fine here. I'll just go with you, you might get bored of no one talking here, so I'll just go with you." He said. My eyes widened when he suddenly took off his tshirt so I immediately looked away.
"B-but you still go there, they can be your friends. They might be angry with you because you're here and I'm with me ㅡ"
I stopped talking when he suddenly shot me. I know isaw because Avie told me that it was delicious.
I grabbed the end of the stick and immediately glared at him, he just smiled at me because of my reaction. Besides, I just now realized that Jizan is handsome. He has a slick back chiselled hair, a very defined jaw, shaped brows, a high bridged nose and a narrowed eyes ㅡ wait. is he thin? I have not noticed.
"I like it here, there's nothing that can be done." He said and sat down next to me, I recoiled a little because of the heat of his body. Only a towel was wrapped around her upper body, so I was still a little confused.
"You know what? You really grew fast. When I saw you before, you were just a cute little baby." He said suddenly while chewing. I ate the chicken intestine that he gave me and listened to what he had to say.
"When you were 5 months old I watched over you when you were at home. Your cheeks are so fluffy and you look cute." He laughs at the promise.
"Wait, you've known me for a long time?" I couldn"t believe what he said while looking at her. He nodded at me.
"Obviously, our Dad's are some sort of bestfriends I can still remember Tito Saint's nervous face while Tita Sabrina is giving birth to you." Jizan's promise was laughable. Oh well, I heard Dad's nervous face back then from Aunt Savienna, and I find it so funny.
I laughed at what Jizan said. "Yeah your right! That was really so funny!" I said with a laugh.
I looked at Jizan and saw that he was just staring at me. It was as if he had seen a ghost.
I snapped my fingers at him. "Hey, what the fuck happened to you?" She blinked because of what I did.
"I just find it so mesmerizing seeing you smile and laugh. It seems incredible." I winced because of what Jizan said.
"You're overreacting. What do you think I'm always in a bad mood for?" I asked her.
"Yes, you always frown, and you always frown." He was now laughing and he tried to mimick my usual facial expression.
I couldn"t help it and I laughed out loud because of what he did. The hell! He looks so stupid for he is abnormal!
"Woah, this is unbelievable. I thought you weren't laughing." Jizan couldn't believe it, I just fell in love with him because of what he said.
"I laugh, sometimes." I said.
"Yeah, I know. You seldom smile, and you're cold too." Cold. Me? Cold? Is that true?
"Cold?" I repeated.
"Yeah, I didn't expect you to be our friend. You seem so unreachable, and distant towards everyone." Am I like that? I didn't realize that's how they thought of me.
"I didn't expect to be rude, I just don't like triggering my patience and I always end up shouting at everybody." I said apologetically.
"Nah, it's fine. Just be yourself, I am fine with that. I am not forcing you to associate yourself with others though." I looked away because of what he said. I never thought Jizan was like this, he is so warm to be with. I feel calm when I talk to him.
Our first interaction was a disaster. And I thought he is just some jerk in society who will be pestering me. But, looking and realizing about his attitude. He isn't that bad.
"Am I rude?" I couldn't help but ask her.
"Nope, I don't find you rude at all. It's just everyone pisses you off, and I know you're good to people whom you treasures the most. You are not rude Katriel, your attitude depends on the people you meet. And I understand that a lot. " Did he just call me on my second name?
"Katriel?" I repeat what he called me. I looked at him, and I saw how startled he is.
"Uhm, sorry, I didn't meant to call you by your second name. You can just erase that to your mind ㅡ"
"Nah, it's okay." I said and immediately averted my gaze. Katriel ... he is the first one to call me that. And I think it's not bad to listen.
"Really?" He couldn't believe the question.
I nodded.
"Yup, we're friends afterall."
