33 - Death
Half Filipino, half Irish. She used to live in the Philippines, but when she went missing and was never found a few years later, her entire family fled to America to forget what had happened. They have five brothers and sisters. She is the princess's fourth and final child.
"Child, Amara..." She took a seat next to her.
According to them, her real name is Ailidh, not Amara. They accepted her name wholeheartedly out of respect and gratitude for her life and health.
"Ma!"
"It's been three years, Amara. I believe it is time for us to return to the Philippines and personally thank the family who raised you."
When she thought of her Daddy and Mommy, she became sad. Conscience devoured her. She didn't say goodbye, only that she didn't like the marriage they had arranged for her with Theon. And then she flees, only to return when everything is fine. That was the only reason that came to her mind that day. When she has a severe headache, she drinks condensed milk!
"Not first, Ma; I'll go home and tell them. They have no idea yet. I am the only one who is aware that I am not their biological child."
She stroked her hair and smiled affectionately. It granted her request. She didn't even bother Berkham when she got home; they were like glue to each other after discovering they were brothers. They quickly reconciled, and when they saw the outcome, they cried like fools. Life is indeed full of shit. She'd be gnawing to this day if she hadn't acted.
She went straight to the Legrand mansion, and her Mommy's slippers almost chased her when she saw her. It cried as if it had died.
"My goodness, I'm still alive."
"You're a nuisance, kid!" she pinched her in the groin, but when she saw her grinning and moaning, she laughed and sobbed. "What do you have on? I almost die because of you!"
Her heart seemed to be pounding. She had not anticipated the way it would react to her loss.
She couldn't sleep that night. Her mother and father also gave her a ten-kilometer sermon, but in the end, she hugged her and begged her not to make her run away again. If only they had known. She'd just find a way to tell them everything. She knew her Mommy and Daddy would be hurt, but she knew it was for the best.
"Wife!"
When she saw Theon visit the mansion the next day, her face lit up. She was outside with Celestine, watering a plant. She forgot to mention that she also abandoned his husband. She hugged it tightly and apologized.
"I understand... I understand it's against your will. But I'm not a bad person, Amara; we can divorce our marriage so that you can—"
"So you've arrived." Azael, smirks.
She escaped Theon's clutches. She noticed Azael and Penelope standing. her heart began to pound, and her entire system nearly collapsed. Azael might have melted at Theon's stare if she hadn't put her arm around her.
But her eyes widened when she caught a glimpse of the woman next to her. Did she believe it fled? Why did it return so quickly? The look was still repulsive, like a turtle. Monsters of the sea. She had no idea they were cousins of this despised.
"Amara! Oh, Amara! We're glad you're back," she said, hugging her. “Bitch! Why don't you die?" She whispered.
The taste of its eyes pierced her. "Don't worry, I'll kill you first," she replied.
It then went inside first, followed by Theon outside. They first discussed an incident in her life, and she avoided bringing up the subject of divorce. Not right now. This isn't the real reason they don't love each other.
She said her goodbyes and went to her room after they had family lunch that day. She pretended to have a headache and said she needed to rest. her mother immediately agreed.
She took Celestine and forced her to sit on the Queen size bed in her room, which she should have owned.
"Will you ask me to do something, Ma'am Amara?"
She smiled while crying. Its entire life has robbed it of its true value as a Legrand. Amara would have been here now. When she sat down next to it and extended her hand, she burst into tears.
"Thank you, Celestine."
When she cried, she was taken aback. "W-why?" it asks innocently. She pondered what to do with the tears that had previously fallen in her eyes.
"Thank you for being there for Mommy and Daddy while I'm away. You're the one who made up for my years away. Because you're here, Mommy won't miss me too much."
She bowed, her face flushed. She appears to be guilty of what she said. "I didn't do it to take your place, Ma'am Amara. That is correct!"
She gripped her hand. If it only knew how much fun and guilt it had ingrained in her personality. She was happy because she saw the real family, but she was also guilty because their Mommy still didn't know Celestine was its true unica hija and she wasn't. But she was determined; she would tell the woman the truth, and then tell everything to the first woman she recognized as her mother. Who has a greater right to know the truth here in the mansion than Celestine?
"I'm glad because I'm not the real Legrand. You are the true child of this family, Celestine, and I am not."
"W-what exactly are you saying—"
"Amara ?!"
"Mom!"
When she saw her mother at the door, her eyes widened, and she was taken aback by what she said. It grabbed her heart, and what happened next was that she and Celestine yelled and dashed towards it.
Azael did not respond to his sleeping mother's gaze. He felt a variety of emotions, but he remained calm despite the fact that it was true, no. A lot happened when Amara went missing for three years, and he only managed to track it down secretly and far away during that year.
He also knew she'd been to the Philippines three times and had been spying on their mother for three years. He knew all of its moves and could only follow them even the day he saw it when she was with Vraiellah as she fled for a while to Cuhen.
If it only knew how hard he was trying not to pull it and run away. But, because he loved her, he let her go even though it was against her will.
Amara despised him, but because he loves her, he can bear it for a few more years. Having Penelope in his life was possibly the worst decision he ever made. He knew it was a bad idea, but he persisted because he thought he could get Amara's attention, but he didn't, and that really fucks him.
When his phone rang, he saw that Cuhen was on the other end of the line. He hung up the phone, and it was Amara's turn to walk in. He was startled for a moment, then quietly approached their mother's side — her mother's side.
They are not related. He'd known for a long time, but he'd chosen to remain silent. He waited for the opportunity to speak. her eyes were red and swollen as she extended her hand to the lady. She could hear the word "sorry" on its lips.
"You did this because you left without saying goodbye."
Amara did not respond. She simply remained silent while gently brushing her mother's hair. He could see how much she missed their parents for the first time. As he watched the woman, her heart seemed to pound. Nothing has changed his heart to this day.
Then Celestine burst in, sparingly smiling and looking down when she saw her.
"Celestine, first and foremost, stay here. Amara and I should talk." When she said that, Amara turned to face him, his eyes questioning. "Come with me." And she was the first to leave that room.
His feet walked across the rooftop. He waited a few moments before detecting Amara's presence.
"How are you doing?" That was the first thing that popped into his head.
"I'm fine," Amara responded.
He faced and mumbled without emotion. He stared at it, but it didn't return his gaze. He couldn't tell what was going on in its head right now. He wanted to ask how much she loved Theon so much that she agreed to marry her right away, but he couldn't because he was afraid he would hurt her even more.
"I was ten years old at the time I saw you. I spent the entire year in America with our grandparents when you entered our lives. I had no idea Mom had hired a surrogate mother to bear their child. As a result, when I arrived at the mansion, I was overjoyed because I had a sister for the first time. I treated you like my younger sister at first. Until I gradually developed feelings for 'you' and fell in love. Yes, Amara, I've loved you since we were kids. I don't want to, but my heart won't let me. I was able to hide my feelings from everyone," he paused and took a deep breath, "but destiny can play, I dug into our family history. Her surrogate mother kidnapped Celestine. It does not wish to give the child after birth. Our parents were completely unaware that you were the one who replaced Celestine. You were kidnapped to hide Celestine, my true sister. They abruptly vanished with Celestine after giving you to our family and handing you two million dollars in compensation... "
"Are you sure you know everything?"
"When you vanished... Yes." she couldn't respond because she saw its stiffness on the stand. I can only say one thing right now: we are not siblings. I also tracked down the person who stole from you as a baby. They are already imprisoned on human trafficking and kidnapping charges. They didn't say who told you to steal, but I can tell you one thing: they'll rot to death."
"Azael ..."
