Chapter 25

It is cool and calm this evening, the type of atmosphere I really love. Douglas is by this time in our room, the room he woke up in which is my bedroom, he had later tried to make me speak out what we discussed at the library. He was so eager to know but I wouldn't tell him neither any of my ladies-in-waiting. He still persisted in me calling him his majesty or Prince Douglas to which I firmly opposed. I felt bad at this, the first opposition I encountered was from the person I came to save. I feel so bad at this even till now.

The book in my hand is a constant encouragement to me. The major character in the book is an eighteen year old girl who has no one to call her own, her mother died at a tender age. She was raised by her father, when she was eight, her father remarried and the stepmother came into their family with her three children. She was treated as a stranger in her own house, her step brothers and sister treated her like trash, an object of humiliation in the house where she naturally came from. She suffered humiliations, starvation, physical and emotional abuse till she finished high school, by then she was eighteen years old.

After this, she could no longer bear the punishments any longer, her stepmother coaxed her father who was once loving and caring to her to act cruel, inconsiderate and indifferent towards her. A voice kept speaking in her heart, a voice which she comes to address as her heartsong just like Mattie Stepanek, the late child philosopher.

"You need to rise up, leave your family and start a new life!" This voice kept disturbing her that she knew no rest until the day she packed and told her stepmom she was going away. Her father was out on a journey which would take long before he returned and she couldn't wait till he returned.

"Tell him I'm out on a journey to start a new life. I want to be a model and I dream that one day I'll be a great star." Her stepmother replied with a smirk while her step siblings broke out into a loud laughter and mockery.

"What do you think you're doing," she said with mockery, holding a disgusting look at her. "You're nothing and you'd be nothing. Without us, you can't achieve anything. No one would help you."

By this, she was trying to say that her stepdaughter would never be anything in life especially as she had no one, they had refused to make her life standard, she believed that the young girl would therefore not get anything out of life.

It's quite nice that she didn't mind her stemom nor let these discouragements weaken her nor cool the fire in her heart. She went to the city, did manual jobs, worked as a domestic maid among many other things. This young lady, my favorite character, suffered a lot as her stepmom repeatedly mocked her on the phone for disobeying her and leaving home. She didn't let this discourage her still, she fought through all odds even the very ones from her violent boyfriend till she became a Miss World Winner and a super-successful model.

I really drawed encouragement from this novel, I was experiencing a similar ordeal here. Douglas is the very individual that starts the opposition to my mission but I'll not let this deter me. If I can get him into a contract marriage with me, I'll be more than happy. I just want to bear that name as his luna from which I'll be able to have the license to enforce what I'm sent to enforce.

"Where are you going?" Douglas asks as I pick my car key from the bed and head towards the door without even paying much attention to him.

"I'm going out with my friends," I said in a cool voice void of emotions.

"You're not going anyway, you're trying to plan some evil against me with them."

I'm astonished. What would give him the authority to speak to me this way, even to give me orders in my own house. I couldn't just keep quiet and watch him say this. I have to challenge him to let the insult stop, even though it doesn't, at least I have to show him I'm not a woman that takes shit.

I stare at him with furious eyes, "What makes you think you can give me orders in my house?" I'm so furious that I find it really hard to control my emotions. I shake my head furiously with my eyes staring to him in terror.

"Whatever you are, I don't care where you come from, you must surrender to my authority as the prince! You do what I say!"

"You're no prince to me but to others, I'm superior to you and never make that mistake to talk to me disrespectfully again. I'm going, I have no time for your distractions." I remembered what Eva told me during the day.

"Let's see who will submit at last. We shall see." I stopped right in my tracks when he said this, I was gonna suffer when it's time to get him to enter into a contract marriage with him. My heart tells me it will be very uneasy for me but I would not let this stop me or make me submissive to him either. I'm the type of woman that is respectful but never submissive, I walk according to the law but never try to cage me to do what you want, I'd never accept.

I walked down the stairs, Eva and Zoey were waiting outside for me. I peer into my watch and it's 5:45 PM. I chose this time when the sun is down and the weather is calm and chilly, the park sure is gonna be lonely and I'll really love this. I need an atmosphere where I can reflect on my life and make great decisions.

The distraction Douglas was exhibiting I feel is a great trap which I must avoid. I can't imagine how a wolf prince would challenge a celestial missionary who is far greater than him in rank and much more powerful. Not even the queen, Pandora challenged Cassandra this way when she confronted him. Even if she did, it would not have been worse like this as the wolf queen and luna queen are equals except for the fact that one was of celestial origin.

"Are we ready?" I said to Eva and Zoey. They nodded. We got into the car, gifted to me by the Shifter Trust Fund. It was a gold sports car, one of my favorites. I reversed the car and zoomed off.
