I am deep in my thoughts when a call comes to my cell phone. I look at the screen and roll my eyes. What now? I can't believe it. I answered almost immediately.

"Alpha, Mason."Her sweet voice comes through my phone. Wait sweet? What is happening to me to even mention that she has a sweet voice? I am so f*uck up.

"Yes. What can I do to you?"I answer and try to play it cool. She takes deep breaths but doesn't say anything for a while.

"I know you gave me 24 hours but it looks like it is not enough. I need more time to arrange everything."She finally says after hesitating for a while.

"Why? Is it something about your boyfriend? What happened?"I ask but I feel knives pierce through my chest when I think about her with her boyfriend in bed. Am I jealous of him? I am not sure. Maybe I am just attracted to her because we will have a baby together and it creates a thread between us. Ryder growls in my head but doesn't say anything. Who knows what is in a wolf's mind? Even if I live with him 24/7 I don't know everything about him.

"No. My boyfriend is not okay with the idea either but my problem is my workplace."She says very calmly and I do not doubt that she is telling the truth.

"Of course, she is telling the truth. She is a nice woman and carries my pup. I like her."Ryder suddenly speaks up and his words surprise me.

"Oh yes, she is nice and might be telling the truth too. Please don't start that b*ullshit that we should try a relationship with her."I argue with him because I don't want to repeat myself and tell the same thing I did with Dario.

"Fine. We will see when she will be here. Jerk."Ryder softly growls at me and shuts me out completely. Nice. I have enough problems and now I have an annoying wolf. Let's focus on Chloe after I am finally alone with my thoughts.

"I see. I understand him a little. So tell me more about your workplace."I speak with her in a nice tone because I don't want to scare her.

"I work at Lionel Group. My boss is Mr. Lionel but he is absent because he went to a business meeting. His son Brandon is on duty but he said I have to give them my termination letter and when my notice period is over I can go. I have to also train my replacement. He said it must be a month-long but no shorter."She tells me every detail of her job and I listen to her attentively. That Brandon sounds strange to me at first but maybe just my intuition is not right.

"Look Chloe, I will fix this. Don't worry about it. Pack up everything and be ready to leave at six pm. I will send you a car to pick you up."I tell her with a calm voice. Hope that she does not make a problem.

"But…''She starts but before she can say another word I end the call.

"Beta Dario, find everything for me in an hour about the Lionel group and Brandon Lionel."I mind-link with Dario and he must hear the hurry in my voice as well.

"Yes, Alpha. I am on it."He answers with his serious tone immediately and I cut off our mind link. When he uses this tone he is totally in Beta mode and has no time for jokes.

Before the one hour is gone a folder lands on my desk suddenly. Dario sits down on his usual seat and puts his legs on my coffee table. A smug grin on his face for sure and he doesn't even say a word. I open the folder and read it attentively.

"Are you sure about this?"I ask him immediately while he plays on his phone. He does not even take his eyes off the screen.

"Yes. One of our pack members heard him when he was looking for someone to do an illegal thing."

"I see. You can come with me and have some fun."I say when I stand up from my chair. I pick up my car keys and head to the garage. I hear Dario's footsteps follow me so I am not worried he will stay home.

I hop in my car behind the steering wheel and Dario sits in the passenger seat. I ignite the engine and step on the accelerator. We arrive at our destination very quickly. The receptionist looks at me with a question on her face but I think she quickly recognizes me when her mouth opens from the shock. I just wink at her and continue my way. I and Dario enter the elevator and I push the top floor button. We are looking for his office but luckily his nameplate shows the way. I listen through his door for any movement and luckily I hear him speak on the phone with someone. I push the door open and walk into it without knocking on the door. The door lands against the wall and it almost breaks.

"What the f*uck? You can't come here without an appointment or knock on my door."He immediately stands up from his seat and shouts at us. Dario closes the door behind us because he knows it won't be good for a public show.

"I don't give a f*uck. I have every right to come here even without an appointment."I shout at him. After everything I know about him, it makes me angrier. He is not a good person and he is still outside and freely doing whatever he wants.

"You look familiar. Did we meet before? Who are you?"He asks question after question and it makes me annoyed.

"We did, but everybody only knows me as Mason Russell, the CEO of Skyland Builder Company."His mouth opens when I tell him who I am. His eyes widened from the shock. The color drains from his face when the realization hits him. Dario just chuckles behind me. He is always the funny guy. Luckily he doesn't say anything to make this scene more embarrassing.

"Tell me what do you want?"He sits down in his seat and I feel with my wolf senses that he is afraid of me. I like this effect on others when they know who they face. He is still pale and doesn't dare to look into my eyes.

"I know everything you did with Chloe Smith. If you don't want to end up behind bars just let her go."I can see fear and regret on his face but he quickly puts back his natural face.

"What are you talking about? I didn't know anything I did with Chloe. She is just my father's secretary."He tries to play innocent but I know what kind of man he is and I don't want him around my pup. I clench my fist on both sides. I have to control my anger and not let my wolf take control over me or we will be in big trouble.

"Do I have to remind you that you kidnapped her and sexually harassed her? She won't come to work here from today. Make sure to keep this in your mind, you need a new secretary for your father."I raise an eyebrow to dare him to doubt my words. His face becomes whiter even though it is possible.

"Sure, Mr. Russell. I will inform him and look after another secretary. Please don't tell Chloe anything about what I did."He put his hands together on top of his desk. Fear shows on his face and his eyes become watery as well. He is such a coward. He is only hiding behind daddy's back but when he is alone he is just a piece of s*hit. He prays for me to show him some mercy. They call me ruthless but I give him one more chance to make things right.

"Fine. This is your last chance if I catch you again doing something against Chloe or anybody else I will put you behind bars for a long time. I will also let your father know everything. You will regret it if you betray your own promise."I point at him while threatening him and he hopefully understands it.

"I understand Mr.Russell and thanks for giving me this chance. I will prove that I can change."He suddenly stands up from his seat and kneels in front of me. It surprises me and also that he doesn't piss into his trousers. He almost touches me but I take a step back.

"Goodbye, Mr. Lionel. I hope I won't hear anything wrong about you."I say and turn around and leave. I don't even look back at him to tell him how serious I was. A message comes to my phone that the guest room is cleaned and ready for the arrival of our guest. I smile spread on my face while I walk back to my car. Dario's footsteps follow me close by but he doesn't say anything. I send a message to Chloe that her work problem is solved and to get ready to leave at six pm when a car will pick her up. I step on the accelerator and drive to my next destination. Dario's eyes widened when he saw where I parked.

"Are you kidding me? That store is not for me."He protests even without thinking twice.

"I want a gift for Chloe. You will understand when your pup will be on the way."I try to explain to him about his future.

"I don't think that will happen. I didn't find my mate and I don't think I will in the future."He shakes his head and tries to convince himself that he tells the truth. He tries to speak up again but I don't stay in the car to continue arguing with him. I step into the store and tell the seller what I am looking for. Dario stays in the car and I can imagine the conversion he does himself. I finally found the perfect one and asked them to wrap it for me after paying for it. I quickly return to the car and Dario's curious eyes peek at what is in my bag. He is like a big kid, always curious about everything even though he says he isn't nosey. Luckily he can't see what is inside and it makes me chuckle. I drive back to the pack house and check if everything is ready for Chloe's arrival.
