DO YOU THINK I AM A GOOD GUY NOW?

"You are perfect." He whispered into my ears convincingly, like that's what he really thought of me.

I am far from perfect, that I know.

"I feel like punching the hell out of Cole for making you feel less." I don't know why but I let out a chuckle. It is amusing seeing Wilder like this, almost weird even.

I like this Wilder.

"You can't punch my husband, he has this really cute face and I don't want any damages...." Wilder cuts me off.

"Shut up." He lets out a low laugh, cupping my cheeks, getting me to look into his eyes. "I am going to help you make your husband wish he never used the words open marriage, all you just have to do is play along."

"Why are you helping me? This is way past your compensation rate." I whispered staring down at his lips then back to his eyes.

"I guess you have to find new ways to compensate me." I moved my face, closing up space between us as I placed my lips on his soft lips, just then we heard a knock on his door.

"Get it," I muttered, pulling away.

"Damn it." He said as he walked to get the door, the door reveals the waitress from this morning holding a cake. I could tell she had planned on coming inside but when she saw me, she stepped back.

"On behalf of the staff, we say happy birthday." Wait a minute, It's Wilder's birthday.

"Thank you and thank your colleagues as well." Wilder collected the cake from her. She hesitated for a while shooting daggers at my frame.

"Happy Birthday again, Sir" With that she finally leaves.

"What the hell Wild? It's your birthday and you didn't say anything?" I yelled at the guy dropping the chocolate cake on the table. "You let me bug you with my matters all morning." I feel so bad and inconsiderate. He probably walked out of the restaurant this morning to get away from my whining, and I roped him back in.

"Believe it or not, it's fun to watch you mad at someone that is not me." He gave that is an annoying one-sided smile. I looked around, the fact that it is his birthday and this place is empty doesn't feel right.

It's Wilder fucking Stone.

Back in high school and what I have observed now, he is the life of the fucking party, this place should be swimming with people already or he should be out in the beach with women all around him.

"Where is everyone?" I asked. "Where is Casey?" At least his best bud should be there.

"I have no idea. He has been acting all strange." Everyone is acting all strange in this place, Meghan, My husband and now Casey.

"Everyone is acting all strange, maybe just a little more time here, you might fall in love." I teased but Wilder froze staring at me.

"I am joking," I announced laughing but he didn't join in. It was a really good joke; after all, he is that last person that can ever fall in love.

He is proudly a man-whore; he wears it like a motherfucking badge.

"Well, since I am the only one with you, it's my duty to ensure you have a great birthday." I smiled. I am not going to leave him here to celebrate alone.

You can help him call the waitress back, she looked like she wanted more than to say happy birthday.

Nah, I will just stay.

"Oh, what do you have in mind?" He dragged me closer to him, his strong arms wrapped around my waist, his face on my neck releasing hot air on it. I let out a low moan before snapping out of it.

"I am not talking about sex." I pushed him away but his arms still firm around my waist.

Fuck those strong arms.

"That's the most unsexy you have ever said." Wilder groans, I laughed on his chest.

Raising my head up, "You have met me and you think that's the unsexiest thing to come out of my mouth?"

"I take that back." He shook his head.

"I am talking about dinner, maybe a ride into the city, getting stupidly drunk at a bar," I suggested.

"You don't have to do this, I am okay here with a bottle of vodka and a chocolate cake, sitting reflecting on how far I have come."

"I want to, you are a friend." I can't believe I said that.

"You can't take it back." I hate and love that annoying smile, that smile makes me want to kiss him.

"Don't make me regret it." I bought up my warning finger, as he released me from our position.

"So we are friends with timed benefits?" I knew he was going to make me chew up my words.

"Shut up and pick one thing you want to do for your birthday." He drops on his couch.

"None actually, since you are here, we could watch a movie and munch on this cake." He picked up his glass of wine and sat more comfortably.

"Okay, I will choose the movies. I don't want to be watching porn." I sat beside him.

"You know me too well." He winked.

~~~
"No, It just plain stupid. She has no superpowers, how the hell is she supposed to know he likes her?" I and the birthday boy have different opinions about the movie we just finished watching.
"With all he did? Come on now." Wilder throws his hands up.
"As I said, she is not a mind reader. You like someone, you tell them. It is that simple." I argued back.
"It is not."
"It is that simple," I replied.
"You really do still like arguing with me." He laughed, facing me.
"I like winning augments against you," I smirked. We stared at each other for a while before I broke it with a question.
"Can I ask you something?" I asked.
"If it's how I look this young at my age. Its sex, lots of it."
"Eww, I don't need a reminder." I cringed.
"So what?"
"Don't you like ever want to have a family of your own, get married, fall in love? You cannot seriously live your life like this. It is going to get lonely." I could see the change in his expressions, that simile wasn't there anymore.
"In spite of what I say, I think you are a good person and you deserve all that," I muttered.
"I was once engaged and I have fallen in love twice." Okay, those words are shocking.
"E-engaged?" I asked.
"Beautiful, strong, smart..." He paused, the smile he had when describing her turned into a frown.
O my God, did she die?
"I am so sorry," I muttered, regretting bringing the topic up.
"No, she's no dead. In fact, she is married with twins." He laughed but she laughs didn't meet his eyes.
"I cheated on her with her best friend. The day she found out, she was coming to tell me that I was going to be a dad but I screwed shit up like I always do. She got into the car..." I sat shocked, listening to he speaks. "The baby didn't make it." He stopped and then turned to me, our eyes locked.
"So tell me now Ivy, do you think I am a good guy now?" My lips pressed in a thin line because, for the first time, I didn't know what to say to Wilder.
