GOODBYE WILDER
"How did you really get that scar?" I don't believe the sleep walking story and idiots are ones that will believes the saving some kid in middle school story.
"I told a girl I didn't want to date her, I guess she didn't take my confession really well." He put his index finger on his forehead.
"Now that's sounds like a truth I can believe." I fell back on the mat.
Silence filled the place for a while before I spoke again.
"Do you ever want to have kids?" I am going to ask all the question I want before he decides he doesn't want to answer any more questions.
"Yeah, I imagined my kids with Loren. I have always wanted a family with her. Now she has a family but I am not in it and that's okay. She deserves the best."
I hated my childhood, I hated my dad for leaving my mum for a girl half his age. Cole and I are going to be better than my parents, we are going to do better. I don't want my marriage to end up like my parents.
"What if Cole choice by the end of the night doesn't favor you?" Wilder whispered, his question made me think he can read minds.
I haven't given it much thought because I know my husband, I know Cole.
"It's impossible." I answered, sitting up again.
"What if?" I closed my eyes when his hands made contact with my face, his fingers buried in my hair. He shifted closer as we were both sinfully close to each other. I could feel his breath on my lips, just one movement and I could capture his lips with mine and savor the feel of being that close to him.
"Are you going to think about what you deserve?" His hot breath fans my lips, my heat beating out of control. My body wants him, every part of body craved him but my brain is telling me how wrong it was.
Fucking hell.
It took all in me to turn the other way as his hands slipped off my face. I want to put it back, feel his embrace but it won't be fair to Cole.
It would be hypocritical of me.
"It won't happen." I ended the conversation.
"Why did you cheat?" This question had been hitting me up ever since he told me about his ex fiancée. Wilder is many things but I don't picture him as a cheat.
"I don't know." That was not the reply that I was expecting, but is there perfect answer to that question?
"So you didn't have your eyes on her best friend before hand?"
"Never, I don't know how and why it happened." Wilder whispers but it was loud enough for me to hear. "We had a fight so she didn't come for my game, the team won and has usual we went to celebrate but this time without her by my side. I drank and drank, I don't even recall talking to her best friend, didn't notice she was there. The next morning, I was woken up by Loren's scream as she saw her best friend naked in my arms."
I placed my hands on his face, staring right into his eyes. "Hey, you were drunk." I know there is no convincing him, he has already made up his mind.
"Doesn't make it justifiable."
Everywhere became silent except from the sounds of birds, we just stared at each other for what felt like hours. I want to kiss him so bad but I just maintained my position, I don't want to complicate things.
"Hmmm, so do you like anyone? I mean it will makes my work easier I try to find you a woman, as promised. So anyone?" I changed the topic to a more interesting one.
"I think you have exhausted your questions." He looked away.
"Come on." I whined.
~~~~~
"It's good music." I argued as I turned the volume up.
"My ears bleed." Wilder tries to change the music but I smacked his hands.
"Focus on the road, don't get us killed." I warned.
"Yes Mum." He laughed. The smile on his face makes me smile, it's so beautiful.
"You should smile more, not smirking, smiling. It's hot." I complimented awkwardly.
"I hardly have a reason to." I probably shouldn't have said anything because the smile that was there a minute ago disappeared.
Way to go Ivy.
"Find a reason to." I looked out the window, hypnotized by the city lights.
"I think I have." He whispered but I heard.
"Good." I whispered too.
The car ride was silent until we got to the hotel premises.
"We are here." I turned to him as he turns off the engine.
"I can see that." I let out a low laugh.
"Wilder," I called for his attention."Thanks for today, I really needed it." I smiled, placing my hands on his.
"It's nothing."
"No really, thanks." I muttered.
I don't know what entered me but I did what I really wanted to do through out the day. I leaned in and placed my lips on his, my eyes closed to savor the moment that might be our last. I placed my hands in his hair, bringing him closer as our tongues danced together.
He let's out a low groan which vibrates in my mouth as his hands were in no place in particular like he's being careful not touch me. I removed my left hand from his hair and guides his let hands to my waist.
Just then I heard a knock on the window of the car, my heart skipped a beat as Wilder and I let go of each other.
I turned to see Cole figure from the tinted glass, he knocks on the glass again.
"Shit." I muttered under my breath, as I placed my hands on the handle, opening the door.
"What the fuck is he doing?" I heard Wilder say before I got down.
Cole shifted as I opened the car door, giving me space to get down. He looked pissed, really pissed, his hands fist balled and his eyes planted on Wilder.
"Babe is everything okay?" I tried to hold him but he shifted, moving his eyes from Wilder to me.
"Uncle Wilder seriously?" Cole yelled.
Fucking shit.
Kitty must have called Cole and mentioned Wilder being there. I broke the number one rule and I get why he is mad. We are supposed to keep Kitty out of this, she is not meant to meet Wilder nor the Gym bitch.
"If you just let me explai...." Cole cut me off before I could finish my sentence.
"How is my daughter talking to this asshole?" His voice louder this time, I took a step back.
I think I prefer drunk Cole better.
"Why don't you reduce your voice man." Wilder called out, slamming the door of his car.
I don't need Wilder talking right now, he is just going to make things worse.
"Why don't you stay away from my family?" Cole moved past me but I held on to his arm, prevent him from moving towards Wilder.
"Oh, so now you want to fight for your family? How convenient." Wilder retorted.
"Please stop." I pleaded with both of them.
I am really tired and I can't handle this right now.
"You would have a family if you keep it in your pants, but you can't, can you?" Cole taunted, trying to get Wilder to come at him since I am holding him down.
"You won't have a family for long, if you continue being a weakling."
"Stay away from my family or you are going to regret it." I dragged Cole back as he tried to lung at Wilder the second time.
"Stop, Cole please let's go." I whispered to Cole trying to bring him to his senses.
"Oh, I am so scared." Wilder mocked. I glared at Wilder, don't know if he actually noticed that I am mad at him but he stopped.
"Please, let's just go." I dragged Cole who just kept on staring at Wilder as he balled his fist.
After seconds of hateful glares at each other, Cole finally turned and started following me inside the hotel.
"Goodbye Wilder." I whispered.
