Chapter 63: Rescue

The Flesh Giant was a mutation of humans. After the Great Catastrophe, many inexplicable changes occurred in human genes. Most of these changes were harmless, but some genes, once triggered by certain factors, could lead to catastrophic consequences. For example, a person who seemed perfectly normal one day could, after a night's sleep, turn into a mindless, rampaging Flesh Giant.

In the hunter's circle, there was an unwritten consensus that the larger the monster, the more difficult it was to deal with among the same level.

This was not a 100% guaranteed rule; there were many special cases, so it couldn't be generalized. However, small monsters weren't necessarily weak, and large monsters were definitely not weak. Usually, applying this rule wouldn't go wrong.

Bendray recounted an experience he had with Li Wei, Qian Long, and Cai Yutong. They had followed a six-person team, three of whom were highly skilled unlocked Evolutionists, to besiege a monster mutated from a barber. The battle was extremely tough, and in the end, only Bendray, the Extreme-level individual, survived, while the other powerful Evolutionists were heavily injured.

The Flesh Giant was indeed not a likable monster. Moreover, unlike the huge half-mechanical radiated centipede Li Wei and Cai Yutong had encountered before, which was obviously a failed modification product with fatal flaws after modification, though it looked scary, it could be handled more cautiously with a high chance of being able to eliminate it.

There must also be Evolutionists who have unlocked their gene locks; otherwise, that half-mechanical Flesh Giant would have broken through long ago."

"Can we try to contact our people?" Li Wei asked.

"I'll try!" Cai Yutong volunteered and took out a palm-sized iron box from her waist pouch, opened it, revealing a mini communication device.

After manipulating it for a while, a crackling sound came from the loudspeaker inside the iron box.

"Calling, calling! This is the support team of the Clover Guild, calling the hunters in the Minggao neighborhood, can anyone hear me?"

There was no response, but Cai Yutong didn't give up. She continued to adjust the frequency of the mini communication device to try to contact their people.
