Chapter 34

“I hear it. Everyone stay at alert. We don't know whether it's friendly or not. We must be careful”,Oliver said and they activated their powers. Oliver unsheathed the Celestial sword and they moved forward. The growling is now clearly heard.
Then he saw it. At first glance, Oliver thought it was a horse, except for the curling horns at the sides of its head. The beast's chest was smooth and pitch black. If it was a horse, it was the tallest one he had ever seen.

It had unnaturally long, thin legs with six fingers, and each finger had a long claw-like spike instead of hooves. The beast moved with an eerie elegance despite its usual-looking size and legs.

However, the beast's face is what made Oliver crawl in fear and also gave him a hint of what the beast might be. It has huge fangs protruding out of its mouth, so sharp and bloodstained. Its eyes were an empty, soulless crimson that glowed, yet it never blinked. Dead bodies of creatures surrounded it. Some bodies still have blood on it and it looks fresh while some are already Bones and they have dried blood on them.
Eventually, Oliver's brain flashes the name of the beast in his head. It's a deadly creature that terrorized France around the years 1764 and 1767. It's Bête du Gévaudan. He can still remember how their history teacher was describing it on that day.
The Beast of Gévaudan is the name given to an animal in France between 1764 and 1767. It used to live in the Margeride Mountains in the south-central part of France. It is a deadly man eating animal who kills its victim by having their throat ripped out.
The beast growled again. Instead of getting paralyzed by the beast's snarling and growling, the fear heightened his senses and made him feel more alive. It gave him tunnel vision and allowed him to focus supremely on the creature before him—on its position, width, breath, strength, and the power the beast might use as it came toward him.

Not only that, the fear allowed Oliver to focus on his own body, position, and skills he might use to defeat the creature. He's a tribrid,the son of a demon prince,He couldn't shy away from fighting.

Rapidly, he burst into action. He charged forward, flipping between a split pole that was standing between him and the creature. Seeing that Oliver was charging at him, the creature roared, his breath so hot that Oliver could feel it from a distance.
The sound raised every hair on Oliver's neck and made him want to turn around and run. However, he forced himself to remain still;the world is depending on him,if he runs now,then all will be destroyed. Can he accept that?. No!. He'll rather stay and fight instead of running away like a coward.
He raised his sword high and leapt up, plunging his sharp blade into the beast's rib, aiming for his heart. The creature shrieked in agony, its hot blood pouring into Oliver's hand as he plunged his sword deeper into the creature's heart.
To his greatest surprise, the creature did not die.The creature seems invisible.
Without missing a beat, The creature swung around and swiped Oliver on his chest. It was so hard that Oliver felt like his ribs were cracking; it was like they weren't healing.

It hurled Oliver away, and the latter went flying in the air, crashing against the wall breaking it in the process, before he finally crashed to the earth with a loud thud. He felt a terrible headache as his head collided hard with the earth.

He looked up, dazed and confused, the world spinning in his eyes.
In the blink of an eye, the beast appeared in the position he thought Oliver might have landed. However, the latter wasn't there again.

From behind, Oliver jumped onto its back, filled his sword with a thicker flame, and then plunged his blade into its neck, making sure that it penetrated the veins in his neck and burned it.

It became furious, turned around, flung his arm, and threw Oliver away. He went flying in the air, smashed into the wall and slumped to the ground. By now, Oliver could feel his eyes seeing stars from another dimension.
It snarled and widened its fangs as it started approaching him.

“Should we help him?"Noel asked sebastian.
“No!. I want to see what he can really do. He is not really using his powers. If it is in death,if the creature is about to kill him,we can Intervene but for now. Let's just watch”,He replied to Noel and Noel frowned.

It raised his foot and brought it down on Oliver's head. He rolled out of the way, and its feet Left a huge footprint at Oliver's position.

Oliver gritted his teeth in anger and the sword glowed.
“Let's get serious.
Demon Art; Ultimate Combo, light and darkness”,
Oliver yelled and the undead sword floated to him. He grabbed it by the hilt and he muttered some words in a strange language.
“Arisesa and combanie Το ξίφος της δικαιοσύνης ”.
“Arise and combine The sword of Justice. THE DESTINY SWORD,IN THE NAME OF COSMIC AND DIVINE, LIGHT AND DARKNESS,IN THE NAME OF LORD JADE”.
The two swords leapt from Oliver's grip. A portal opened in the sky and they both entered it. Lightning flashes in the portal and a golden light fills it. A sword floated to Oliver and the portal closed and vanished. The Blade is golden and the hilt is black and white. There is a writing on it which says – Destiny Sword–.
Oliver twisted the sword in his hand and he charged at the beast,with one quick slash, Oliver despitated the beast. The sword glowed and a large explosion followed. The beast exploded.
Oliver had a wide grin on his face as he approached his teammates.
“Well done Oliver”, Sebastian smiled at him.
“I thought you said the Tunnel of Blood is a safe route. Why is there a Bête du Gévaudan?”Oliver asked Sebastian
“Did I?.Scratch that. The Tunnel of Blood is for you. I specifically said we should pass this route because Of you. This is where you will discover more of your powers. Like you have already discovered the Destiny Sword. The combination of the celestial sword and the undead sword ”, Sebastian answered.
“So why didn't you guys help me?. I thought we are team”,Oliver asked Sebastian
“If we do. You wouldn't have discovered the Destiny Sword. I am a guardian Oliver,your guardian and I can't allow anything to harm you but please trust me”, Sebastian replied to him.
