Chapter 40

Slowly, what was left of the vandalized boat came to a halt at the seashore. The boat had been damaged beyond recognition.
Oliver was the first to alight. His boot collided with the sand of the crimson island, and a cold wind stung his face.

Sebastian asked,“Where should we look?
“I smell blood”, Oliver said. “Follow me”.

After walking for approximately 10 minutes,they came to a stop at a small cave.
“She's there”, Oliver said and he dashed into the cave. He was welcomed with a shocking sight. There's Noella on the floor with blood coming from her mouth and her nose. She's unconscious.
“Like what you see”,A voice said and emerging out of the deeper part of the cave is alistair
“Hello baby boy”, Alistair smirked.
Rage flooded through Oliver and he attacked alistair. He made to slash her but she vanished into thin air.
On instinct, he bent low, and a spear whistled past his face, striking the wall in the process. As it touched the wall, it made a clicking sound.

Sebastian wanted to interfere but he held himself back

Leaving out a vicious battle cry, she appeared in front of Oliver and slashed at him. It was so fast, and her speed is incredible.

Despite her first attack, Oliver saw her moving slowly. At the last second, he easily stepped aside and bumped her on the shoulder.

Though it was a shoulder bump, it comprised force that made Alistair stagger back. She gazed at Oliver, and the look of awe in her eyes was visible.
“You have gotten better. I'll give you that,She said.
“Less talking and more fighting,”Oliver replied.
She twirled her blade and double-slashed at Oliver. This time, she doubled her effort, blade, power, and cut.

Oliver reacted on instinct to Alistair's attack. He had relied on them and he trusted them because they hadn't failed him before, and they would never fail.
Oliver leapt up to evade all the slashes at once.
He did it without using the power that was floating in his veins.
Surprisingly, it was the highest jump he had ever had.

He swirled his body in the air, came down with his head first, and elbowed Alistair in the middle of the head. A small moan escaped from her mouth.

Alistair spun back in anger and gritted her teeth. She slashed at Oliver from the right angle and used the second blade to attack him from the right parallel at the same time.

Yet, it's a futile attack.

Oliver did an acrobatic stunt to avoid the attack and kicked her in the neck at the same time. It was a perfect strike as it caught Alistair unaware.

The force threw her back, making her back collide with the earth.

Not wasting any time, Oliver emerged in front of her and attempted to trample her in the abdomen.

She barely rolls away at the last second to avoid the blow.

She tried standing up, and Oliver welcomed her with a kick in the mouth. A blood split out of her mouth, and she returned to the earth.

Alistair became infuriated and summoned her dark power. She had thought of beating Oliver in a fair duel. That's why she didn't attach any ability.

She was very wrong. He was so perfect in a duel that she couldn't beat him with her dual blade. She decided to step up her game.

She couldn't allow herself to be humiliated like that. Not before, and not ever. She was the daughter of The Dark Lord.

She might not be good with combat, but she was sure of defeating Oliver once she affixed magic.

She made a battle pose, and her eyes turned dark. Her blade blazed with black fire, and it became long, twice its former size.
Seeing what is happening, Oliver unsheathed the destiny sword. He spiraled it, and he could feel the blade throbbing in his hand.

Alistair twirled her double blade, and they emitted dark smoke and flame. Her eyes turned dark and one could see that she was ready to fight until death. She twined the two blades in her hand, and they radiated a black flame. She spun around and directed the flame at Oliver.

Oliver smirked.

What a childish play. He thought in his mind.

He easily raised his left hand and curved it, making a ball of water automatically appear in his hand.

He threw the water ball at Alistair, and a loud bang was heard as both elements collided, releasing a great smoke into the atmosphere.

With great velocity, she dashed at Oliver,raised her blade up above her head, and slashed at him. Easily, Oliver raised his blade and parried the blow.

Alistair wheeled around, twirled her blade, and attacked Oliver again. It's a deadly blow that carries great power. With the way she swung it, one could see that it was a single dead strike.

Yet, Oliver didn't bulge. He tightened his grip on his blade and blocked the blow. Scintillate flew out as their blades collided, and a loud metal clang filled the atmosphere.

They stood face-to-face against each other, with their breath coming out roughly. It's a breath of fury and death.

Oliver pushed Alistair backward, summoning the power of the light orb. Before she could react, Oliver followed with a death swing.

Alistair bent low to avoid the blade and blasted Oliver backward with a lightning bolt from her palm. The force carried him fifteen feet backwards and slammed his back against the cave wall.

Oliver disembarked on his feet and let out a small moan. He cracked his head and grabbed his blade firmly.

He summoned the four common elements of the universe. He filled his blade with his hand, and it started glowing. In the blink of an eye, he charged back at Alistair.
“Why is he holding back?. Why is he not using his other powers”, Sebastian asked no one in particular as he watched the ongoing battle.

He was faster than anything she had ever seen. His movements were so blurred that no one in the vicinity could see him except sebastian.

He slashed at Alistair, and his blade left a great mark on her arm, followed by a painful whimper which escaped her lips. It was so quick, she didn't expect it.

She slashed at him,but her blow was weak. Oliver easily blocked it and slashed her in the ribs. He planted his feet on her chest, and the force sent alistair flying into the air.

Before she could reach the earth, Oliver blasted her with fire.

With a great thud, Alistair collided with the ground and spit out blood. She tried standing up, but she groaned in pain and lay back on the ground.

She checked her wounds, and she was surprised at what she saw. It was healing very slowly. It has never happened to her before. That led her to believe that Oliver was greater than she was.

She grabbed her blade and used it to drag her weak body up. She wiped the blood on her mouth with the back of her palm and took in a deep breath.

She faced Oliver and then meandered her blade. Letting out a great furious scream, she flickered at Oliver again.

Oliver let out a yell, cried, and charged at Alistair in a great fierce attack. Their blades made a loud clang as they collided.

Left and right, they started whacking at each other. The battle went front and back, right and left, all over the cave.

Alistair doubled her effort and slashed at Oliver from different angles. She circles her blade around Oliver's and tries to cut him from the left angle.

He easily steps back to avoid the blow and bends low to evade a cut on his throat. He retaliated by kicking Alistair in the chest.

As his feet collided with her chest, a wave of wind gushed out and pushed Alistair backward.

Before she could regain her stance, Oliver appeared in front of her, snatched her by the neck, and squeezed her throat tightly, making Alistair gasp.
“You're so weak. Am not even using half of my powers”, Oliver smirked.

He filled his hand with a thick flame and punched Alistair twice. He threw her up and then raised her palm.

As he did this, a gust of wind pinned Alistair to the wall. He stretched his palm toward her, and a huge boulder surged out of the earth, aiming to crush her to death.

The boulder was a few inches from crushing Alistair when it stopped. Blake suddenly appears and he breaks the boulder into small particles with a punch
Alistair fell down but Blake was quick to catch her. Her wounds have fully healed but she's still weak.
“You'll regret ever doing that”, Alistair said and she vanished alongside blake.
