CHAPTER 9
The first sunlight Infiltrated the widow's veil,shining on his face,He gasped back to reality. At first,his vision was blurry. He closed his eyes,shook his head and opened them again. Finally,he can see properly.
He examined the room, wondering where he was,and his brain ransacking how and when he got there. He was inside a big room with a single but big window.
He is lying on top of a big bed. He's still wearing the clothes from when they started the journey.
He shakes his head again,and the past events come rushing into his brain. It overflows his brain like the Nile river, causing her a great headache in the process.
He could remember how Thanatos was furious when he was able to control the Undead Sword. He could remember vividly how he single handedly killed thousands of undead. Then the battle with Thanatos and how he killed Zayto. Just thinking about it,he didn't know when a tear slipped from his eyes. Then he remembered how he went berserk and killed Thanatos. How his urges were not satisfied. How he almost killed her and then, the kiss. Did she really mean it? That was all he remembered before he was dragged into the land of Unconsciousness.
Standing up from the bed, Oliver walked towards the door in the room and he twisted the knob. The door made a creaking sound when it opened and he came out of the door.
Oliver descends the stairs leading to the room he came from. After he descended the stairs,He realized that he was in the throne room. He looked across the room and saw Thanatos dead body. “Greet hades for me”,He said and he laughed quietly.
“I see that you're awake”, A voice said softly and Oliver directed his gaze to where the voice is from. Standing there with her hands on her hand on her hips and her elbow pointing outward is Noella.
“Morning Noel”,He greeted with his head down. He's ashamed to look at her since he almost killed her last night. He couldn't control himself and his anger led to nothing but violence and destruction. “Look,I am sorry about last night. It wasn't my fault,I swear. Zayto is the only one I have and him being taken away from me……
“It's okay.
I totally understand. If I were to be in your shoes,I would do worse”,Noella interrupted and she smiled, revealing her white set of teeth.
“Thanks for understanding”, He said and Noella smiled again. “Now where is he?”,He demanded.
“Follow me”,Noella said and he followed her. They arrived in a room and lying on the bed with his body wrapped in a white cloth is Zayto.
He hurriedly entered the room and approached the bed. He touched his neck but he quickly removed his hand. Zayto's body is as cold as ice.
“I saw this in his pocket”,Noella said and removed an object from her pocket. It's a cross but with strange writings on it. Attached to it is a paper and it reads;
“I was told to give you this”.
Oliver collected the cross and wore it on his neck.
“How are we going to continue the quest now?”, Oliver asked miserably.
“Look,the cross is glowing”,Noella said and Oliver removed the cross from his neck and indeed,the cross is glowing blue and so are the writings on it.
“Did you know what this means?”He asked and Noella nodded positively.
Noella shapeShift into a witch and she pointed her wand at the cross and muttered some inchorent word.
“It's a song.
A song in Greece”,Noella replied.
“Sing it and I'm gonna play it”,Oliver said and Noella laughed.
“What are you gonna use?”,Noella asked mockingly.
“There are some things you don't know about me”,Oliver replied and he called.
“Jaybot?”.
“Yes”, Jaybot replied. His robotic voice is visible.
“I need a flute,'' Oliver demanded.
The sound of drilling is heard and within five seconds,an holographic image of a flute appeared and Oliver touched it. The holographic image was materialized into a real flute.
“Very impressive”Noella complemented, sounding impressed.
“Lalalalalalalala,mautak thala,zuun maimu,maimu,intaknaka”,Her voice sounded melodious and Oliver closed his eyes, enjoying the way she sang and he played the tune.
A clicking sound was heard and Oliver opened his eyes. The cross had opened and a scroll fell from it.
Oliver picked up the scroll and it reads;
You're one step ahead
And your enemies behind
Back in the days
Of the kings
Two sides discovered
But one remaining
Powerful and suparsing
But have a great weakness
Only pure blooded
Can live without this weakness
Discovering it is yet simple but hard
Not where you think
Not where you're
But in places that are hard to discover.
That is where the riddle ended.
“How are we ever going to solve this?”Oliver asked, feeling frustrated.
“I thought you said you guys are on a quest to find The legendary Celestial sword?”, Noella asked and Oliver Nodded.
After ransacking their brains for answers,Noella's face lit up in excitement.
“I think we have to find the side the riddle is talking about. It must have a connection with your mission”. “Give me the Cross”,Noella demanded.
Noella snatched the cross and examined it.
“I got it”,She screamed delightedly.
“Here”,She pointed at a side of the cross and true to her word,attached to the side of the cross is a small compass and right now,the compass is pointing to the west and two small images are present in the compass,a male and a female.
Oliver moved away from her and the male image in the compass moved as well.
“That's us”,Oliver said, barely able to contain his excitement.
“We have to follow the compass”,Noella said and Oliver Nodded.
“Let's go”,Noella urged and Oliver took one last look at Zayto before he joined Noella.
