Chapter 39

He felt their voices going straight into the four layers of his brain and working inside the left hemisphere of his brain. He felt their voices getting a hold of his intellect and was trying to control it.


Emerging out of the water a few yards away from them are the Sirens. About a dozen in number. They increased their voices and started inching toward their boat. Finally, Oliver felt himself getting lost in their voices.

Seeing what was happening, Sebastian removed one hand from his ear, summoned a fireball, and threw it into their midst. Though he knew it was useless, he took the risk. If he did this, perhaps the Sirens would stop singing. His dragon powers surfacing

However, the fireball stopped a metre away from the Sirens. The one who seems to be their leader inches forward. She's a tall woman with long green hair, like a mermaid, and green eyes to match her hair.

She grabbed the fireball and tossed it in her hand. Gradually, the fireball increases in size until it reaches the size of a dwarf planet. It's also blazing with fire and rotating faster than before.

The woman stretched her hand forward, and the fireball darted toward their boat with unimaginable speed. Sebastian stretched his hand forward at the last second, and he controlled the fireball,he clapped his hand and the fireball exploded and the force made him lose his balance.

He glanced at Oliver,and he could see that he was about to jump out of the boat. He was about to fly when Sebastian grabbed him on the leg and dragged him back.

Oliver took control of the water, transforming it into sharp ice with the power of the light orb and he used to stab sebastian in the shoulder. The man didn't even flinch. He tightened his grip on him.

He suddenly had an idea. He removed the ice from his shoulder and he used it to stab Oliver. He removed the ice which was dripping with Oliver's blood.

Oliver formed another ice cube and wanted to stab Sebastian again, but the man easily deflected it.

He swerved behind Oliver and struck him on the veins in his neck, knocking him out. He took a deep breath and faced the Sirens in front of them. They were now a few feet away from meeting each other.

Seeing that Oliver was down, the leader of the Sirens became infuriated and urged the rest to increase their voice. The Sirens increased their tone.

Taking a deep breath, Sebastian focuses on the leader of the Sirens. He knew it was just a shot. He had one chance.

He moved back a little, and then rushed forward. As his feet touched the edge of the boat, he threw the ice that was dipped into Oliver's blood with all its might.

The blade went spinning in the air, and it impaled itself in the abdomen of their leader. It was so fast and blurry that she couldn't avoid it. She spits out blood and slumped down dead. Slowly, the remaining Sirens stop singing and face their leader.

Oliver snapped out of it and he got control of himself again.
Except for the sound of ripples, everything was as calm as a graveyard. The ice spike, which was filled with Oliver's blood, easily penetrated the Siren's leader. It has never happened before.

Only a bronze dagger with the Siren's victim's blood could easily puncture like that. The Sirens stop and swim toward their leader. The spike penetrated and came out from behind.


Oliver said,“But you said only a bronze dagger can kill a siren, that's just an ice spike, not a bronze dagger."

"Anything is possible," Sebastian replied and squatted beside Oliver, who had now recovered from the Siren's spell. "You came from a powerful lineage. Without a bronze dagger, you could easily kill any being. No matter the amount of power they were wielding."

The rumbling of the sea broke into their discussion. The water started rising, swirling around the Sirens and covering them.

Slowly, it formed into a portal. The portal grew wide, and a being emerged out of it. She's a woman, with long brown hair.

Her face was pale, and water was dripping from her hair. Her eyes were deep green with a red iris. Behind her stood the remaining siren. Their eyes held fury and vengeance.

"Venus," Sebastian mumbled, his voice barely more than a whisper.

He faced Oliver, "Prepare yourself, she's Venus." He yelled at him

Instantly, Sebastian filled his body with a thick fireball. His eyes turned red, and his dragon powers surfaced but he did not transform. Oliver unsheathed his blade and his left eyes turned to red.

Venus raised her hand and twisted it. Part of the sea raised and started rotating in her palm. It finally turned into a plasma ball and threw it at the boat.

Oliver moved forward and slashed the plasma ball. The force making him stagger.

Seeing that they were vulnerable, Venus moved, created a fireball, and directed it at the boat once again. This time sebastian moved forward and absorbed the fireball.

Venus gritted her teeth in anger. Slowly, she started levitating in the air, and she pointed toward the boat. "Advance!" she yelled at the rest of the Sirens.

Letting out a great battle cry, the Sirens filled their hands with thick orbs of flame and water. They charged toward the boat.

"What should we do?" Sebastian asked, his gaze now resting on Oliver.
Oliver replied “We fight”

"Great!" Sebastian exclaimed. "Let's show them what we can offer."

Oliver jumped out of the boat, and he formed an ice skateboard. He faced the Sirens, who were now some metres away from them. Gathering all the speed his power could offer, he dived at the Sirens.

The first siren darted at him,he slid under the Siren. He appeared behind her and drove his sword into her gut from behind.

The Siren gasped in shock, and the rest stood transfixed at the same spot. There's a look of terror and surprise in their eyes.

Sebastian flapped his dragon wing and he formed a fiery sword. He touched Oliver's shoulder and he rubbed Oliver's blood at the tip of the sword.

Rey raised his hand, with his elemental power, the sea raised itself, obstructing the view of the Sirens. Sebastian charged at them, cutting them down right and left. The blade easily sliced through their flesh, and green blood filled the sea.

Venus, seeing this, directed a huge orb at Oliver, and he easily deflected it. He freezes Venus' speck and lunges at him. He was a few inches away from reaching her when Venus suddenly evaporated.

Oliver stood still, his eyes wandering around and his ears searching for any sign of life, like an antenna. His survival instinct kicked in, and he swayed aside to evade a flaming spike that was directed at him from behind.

He did a dual backflip to avoid a plasma ball and slid into the sea with his skateboard. He slid toward Venus and started freezing the water underneath him, and that made it easy for him to reach Venus before she could make any attack.

He filled his hand with a thick flame and directed it at Venus. However, the latter suddenly vanished and appeared in front of Rey. She grabbed his hand, twisted it, and then threw him away.

Oliver went flying in the air before swivelling his body to dock on his feet. He was still trying to maintain his balance when Venus shot multiple plasma balls at him. It was so fast that Oliver didn't have time to react.

The plasma ball collided with him, and the force threw him against the boat. He moans in pain, and his clothes burn off his body. He quickly rolled into the sea to prevent his body from burning.


Venus conjured a huge wave of water and charged at sebastian. She was a few inches away when Oliver emerged from the water. He raised his hand, and ice shot out of the water. He directed them at Venus, as the latter narrowly escaped.

"Seems like you are tougher than I thought," says Venus while striding toward Oliver.


She was a few inches away from reaching Oliver,he drew a big X pattern in the air, and Venus went flying in the air.


A huge force carried her ten feet, twenty feet, thirty feet, and then forty feet backwards. She was still in midair when Rey leapt up to meet her. "

He pierced her stomach, chest, and gut.

With a loud thud, Venus collided with the sea and stopped breathing.The rest of the Sirens that were fighting Sebastian also gasped and became paralyzed. It's obvious that their life forces were connected.
They screamed in pain before drowning themselves in the sea.
