Chapter 42

Oliver strolled in the heart of Insengard. The loud cheering of people filled the atmosphere as two men collided with each other with their long pointed lances.
Oliver checked the compass and he realized that the red dot have disappeared and the compass is no longer moving. It is now pointing to the South. He decided that he would wait until the lance battle is over the he will look for clues. He smirked as he watched the ongoing lance battle. He can defeat the two them in his sleep. He thought as he moved into the crowd.

One of them was wearing black armour and short black protection to match his armour. He also had a black long sword with a silver hilt.

The other man was wearing a purple steel dress and pushed out a breastplate. He also had a silver lance and a black shield that covered his face.

The two duck each other's lances and balance on their horses' backs. They kicked the horse harder, and the determination in their eyes was visible.

They were on a plain sandy dust field with banners of the Insengard flying everywhere.

There's a long, medium-sized barricade between the two knights, which prevents them from crossing the line.

They will have to knock each other down from the horse.

Sitting at the uppermost part of the terrace is King Drax of the Insengard Territory.
Sitting all around the arena are hundreds of people, including the soldiers of Insengard. The arena consists of different beings from the middle land.

The neighing of horses filled the air, and the knights stared at each other, each looking for their opponent's weakness.

All the crowds became silent and watched the next move of the knight. They had to circle each other twice, yet none of them could make their opponent fall from the horse.

If neither of them falls again, they will both be disqualified from the match. That's because this is the third round.

They kicked their horses, each charging at each other with their lances pointing out in a straight line.

Thick tension filled the atmosphere, and the crowds opened their mouths wide in anticipation of what was going to happen next.

Hastily, the black Knight presents his lance, attempting to knock the silver Knight out of his horse.

Unfortunately, he made a mistake.

The silver knight had already predicted his attack, and he blocked the thrust with his small shield.
Before the black knight could present his lance again, the silver knight directed his lance to his armour temple, and he found a small opening.

He added strength to the hilt of his lance and hit the man harder on the side of his temple. The man groaned and fell off the horse.

He descended to the earth with his neck, and it broke in the process. The crowds yelled in happiness, followed by great applause for the silver knight.

Someone yelled from the crowd “ Rex was undefeated,” and the rest roared out again. “He's the best lance man in the middle land.”

The silver knight removed his helmet and rode his horse slowly to the king. He leapt down from the horse and bowed his head slightly.

“May the gods bless you abundantly,” The king blessed him, and the crowds roared out.

Slowly, the king arises from his seat and everywhere becomes silent. “People of Insengard,” he called and they replied to him by roaring. “Is there any knight that wants to challenge our greatest and finest knight?” He asked, and the crowds became calm.

They looked at each other, hoping to see any knight that'll challenge Rex. However, it's futile. It's obvious that nobody would dare challenge him.

As expected, nobody came out. Not even from the amphitheatre. “If there's no one to challenge again, that makes him the champion of...”

The king was saying when a voice cut him short, “I'd love to challenge your champion, .”

It's a soft voice, yet it carries great authority. All eyes drifted to the voice, but they couldn't see his face because the sun was shining brightly on his face.

Oliver walked out and the people laughed. Nobody knows who he really is and they have underestimated him. He thought he might have some fun.

He raised his face, and they met with that of the king. The king quickly covered his eyes as he met the boy's gaze. It was like the sun was shining in his eyes.

King Drax closed his eyes briefly and rubbed them. He opened it and stared at the boy once again. This time, he could see him.

King Drax asked. “ Who are you and Are you sure you want to challenge our greatest knight?”

The boy smirked, “I'm Oliver, last descendant of Lord Jade and yes,I want to challenge your finest knight” The crowds gasped, followed by mocking laughter.

Oliver becomes enraged at their laughter. They are underestimating him, which would be their greatest mistake.

The king seems to know Oliver as he stared at him.

“If that's what you want to do, then proceed but see me when the fight is over.” The king permitted

“I need an armor”,he demanded. He could have easily summon his silver armor from Jaybot but he wants it to be a fair fight. The silver armor will boost his power.
The king nodded to one of his men and the man escorted Oliver to a big room. Oliver choosed a steel armor made out of silver. He walked out of the room and he climbed on his horse. He's holding the horse rein with one hand and his lance is in the other one.

He saddled his horse very well and led it to the beginning of the line.

Three lines were provided for the lance man and a barricade between each of them.

He watched the man intensely, and he could see that he was holding the lance in his left hand. That means he's a left-handed user.

He walked to the right line, leaving the man no choice but to stay in the middle.

Even from afar, he could see the irritating look on the man's face. He had left the man no choice but to block before he would return to the left line.

That's when Oliver is going to strike. That's what he will use to his advantage.

A horn sound filled the atmosphere, “Begin.” The king's voice followed..

Letting out a guttural cry, they kicked their horse, held the reins with one hand, and held the lance with the other hand.

As expected, Rex didn't point out his lance. He's a left-handed user, just like Oliver had predicted.

He let go of his horse's rein, making him hold his shield with his right hand while the lance was returned to his left hand.

In the blink of an eye, the two beings collided, and their horses left a cloud of great dust behind.

Oliver presented his lance, and Rex raised his shield in the hope that Oliver wanted to knock him down through the opening at the temple of his steel.

However, Oliver had another plan. At the last second, he lowered his arm and he directed his lance at the horse's neck instead, making sure that the sharp round of the lance hit the vein at the horse's neck.

The crowds were already chanting loudly, hoping that Rex had successfully blocked the blow. How wrong are they?

The horse let out a loud and painful shrieking as he felt the lance's sharp mouth hitting the veins in his neck and cutting it in the process.
The horse crumpled down, and Rex went flying in the air before slamming into the earth, and the dust particles filled his mouth.

Instantly, everywhere becomes as silent as a graveyard. It was like nobody was in the arena.
