Chapter 39: The Paramour.

'Well done, David. Our plan is going just like we strategized it," She spoke cheerfully. At first, she never thought her plan to get to Mahir wouldn't work. He was persistent and unattainable. But, just within few months her dream was going to come true. She'd finally have him the moment he splits up with Bushra.
'Look, Zainab, if anything happens, we're both going down. Mr. Adam is someone you cannot joke with…"
'Oh nonsense, what could possibly go wrong? The moment it's time for them to split up and they do, I come into the picture to save him and we get married. It's simple," she stated. It's a brilliant idea, to her.
'It appears that he's in love her. Well… based on what I've learnt. What if they ask to terminate the contract before the time comes?" David was afraid of all the possibilities that could happen. But, it appears Zainab isn't.
'F*ck that! They are not terminating that contract, not when things have come to an end. Not when I'm so close to having him. I don't care how he treated me when I went to his office and threw myself at him. I don't care that he rejected me before. The moment he splits up with her, I am so sure he'll be looking for another wife, and that is what I come into the picture, duh! I am not paying you that amount of money just to discourage me with your noxious words!" She was fuming with anger and shaking with fear when the thought of not having Mahir to her possession crossed her mind.
Anything was possible but she believes they're meant to be and she was going to get married to him, not matter the circumstances.
'But I have to make sure he suffers before I do marry him. He has to pay for how he humiliated me in his office the first time we met."

When the tears weren't even half way down, Bushra was empty. She held her tummy and cried in silence. It has been a week since she found out she was carrying Mahir's baby. She couldn't find the courage to tell him. She doesn't even know where to start—the thought of how he'd react scares her to death.
The only had less than three months until the divorce and she couldn't find a single solution to her problems.
First, she hadn't told him about the penalty to be paid and the consequences to be faced if one of the parties refuse to abide by the rules. Second, deep down she didn't want to let go of him but now that she was pregnant, she has to find a way to have him divorce her. She knew he might not want to let go… possibly, he wants to. He was unpredictable.
For the past few months they've been good to each other, none of them ever spoke of the contract, not even once. They've never spoken of how they'd cope if they split up or if they still wanted to be together.
Now she's six weeks pregnant with a child she's not sure if the father would accept it. She didn't even care if her lawyer finds out, she was more worried about Mahir's opinion on the pregnancy.
'Hey," he whispered, breaking her from her ocean of thoughts. She looked up at him from her bed without saying a word to him. It was past ten pm and he was just coming back from work. He looked drained. He settled down on the edge of the bed, her eyes following his every move.
It appears that he's not even angry about how she has been deliberately giving him attitude ever since she found out she was pregnant. She was looking for any chance to fight with him until he eventually gets tired and divorce. It's her only way out of paying that fine and having her parents know the exact truth behind their marriage.
'How was your day? Did you cry? Your eyes look red and puffy." He observed, joining her in the quilt, and hugging her close to him. He shoved his face in her neck and sniffed it—he loved doing that especially when he had a long, tiring day. Her scent is always soothing to him.
She vehemently pushes him away and got off the bed. 'Wha—" he murmured bewilderedly. 'What's the meaning of what you just did, Bushra? What is wrong with you, please? Why are you acting this way?" He was worried that he might have done something wrong but whenever he sits and think about it, he didn't do anything to upset her.
'Get out of my room, right now," she told him, hands on her waist. 'But can I at least know what I did?" He asked again but she yelled over his voice, 'I said get out. Get out of my room! Is that too much to understand?"
He stares at her for a moment before getting off the bed and leaving.
She breaks down completely the moment he closed the door behind him. She wished she could tell him what was going on. She wished she could tell him she didn't mean any of the things she said and how she has been acting. He doesn't deserve to be treated that way but she doesn't see another way out of the tunnel.

She impatiently tapped her fingers on the steering wheel as her eyes roamed around the parking lot. Soon, she spotted the woman she has been waiting for approaching her car. Bushra heaved a sigh of relief and unlocked the doors.
'Bushra, long time no see," the woman said cheerfully. 'Hey, Aydah. It's been so long. How are you?" Bushra said cumbersomely. She was already feeling anxious before spitting out what she had in mind. The morning sickness was kicking in, making it harder for her compose herself.
Her and Aydah attended the same university. They've been so close but things changed when they graduated. Aydah is a free and fun person to be with. Her only problem with Aydah is, she's too wild for Bushra's liking. She goes to parties, hangout with men more often than she does with her female friends. That alone had Bushra to keep her distance away from her.
'I'm doing so great, I mean duh," she claims and flips an invisible hair. Bushra let out a hearty laughter. 'You will never change, Aydah."
'I'm amazing, I know," she said mockingly and they both burst into new set of laughter. 'Okay, let's be serious now. So, you want me to seduce your husband and you'll confront him afterwards over cheating on you?" Aydah pointed out. She wasn't sure why Bushra would want to do such.
'That is correct," Bushra said as she nodded. 'But why? I'm sorry but I just have to ask why would you possibly want to do that. You're married to a millionaire… billionaire, right? He's rich, handsome, everything you could possibly ask…"
'It's complicated, okay? Now are you going to help me or not, Aydah? I'm paying you for this." Bushra was so stressed out already. Aydah was right, she has no reason to do that to him. But she has to find a valid reason to ask for a divorce despite not wanting to let go. She has to, she can't afford to jeopardize the contract they signed.
'I will do it, of course. You're paying so, I do not have a problem with it. I was just advising you as your friend."
They planned out everything; how Aydah would visit Mahir during his lunch break and seduce him into having an affair with her. Bushra know it would be difficult for Mahir to fall for that trap so easily, but it was worth to take a shot at it.
Anything to get her out of the marriage without any hitches.
The next day, Aydah dressed up and headed to Mahir's office. She approaches the receptionist's desk. 'Hey, good afternoon. I am here to see Mahir. Uncle Adam sent me," she said briefly as she gave her a tight-lip smile.
The receptionist went over her computer as she haphazardly looks at Aydah. 'I'm sorry I don't see your name…"
'Oh my God, when I told you Uncle Adam sent me, who do you think I'm referring to? His father obviously and I do not see anyone stopping me from seeing Mahir today."
She stares at Aydah briefly and sighed. It has been so long since she had encountered with such ladies coming to see Mahir and claiming his father sent him. She'd let her go and ended up getting shouted at, at the end.
'Unfortunately, he's on break at the moment and he doesn't attend to any visitors or client by this time…"
'I'll make it quick then," Aydah gave her another smile before heading towards the elevator. She hit the button and within few seconds, the door slide open. She takes a deep breath and walked in. Hitting the button Bushra told her to, she shifted back and wait for the elevator to take her to her destination.
Aydah has done this multiple times to different kind of men; whether old or young. But for some reason, she felt restless and uncomfortable doing it this time. Maybe because she respects Bushra a lot and the fact that she was about to seduce her husband. Or possibly because Mahir was a powerful person and he could end her in just a minute.
The doors slide open and she was at the top floor. She walked out and the first thing she encounters were his safe guards roaming around the door to his office. She awkwardly smiled at them and walked past them to his office.
They all stare at her awkwardly as she walked in. They knew it was his lunch hour and no one dared to interrupt him. Bushra and Mansur are the only people that had access to him without being questioned. Seeing Aydah in his office made them think maybe he knew she was coming and he gave her access to come see him.
He heard when the door opened and closed after someone walked in. The clicking sound of her heels got his attention and he raised his head up from his phone to see who it was. At first, his mind routinely thought of Bushra, thinking it was her.
He stares at her stoically, waiting to hear who she was and who gave her the permission to just walk into his office like she owned the place. He took in her appearance from head to toe—he felt moved by her baby-pink fitted dress and hot red lipstick. She tied her head with a matching color of scarf. Her cleavage was the first thing to be caught on sight.
He lowered his gaze, not wanting to be caught staring at her for too long.
'If it isn't the one and only son of Alhaji. Adam. Sani. Dan-Musa," she spoke temptingly to get his attention. It worked—he briskly snapped his head up and looked at her. She smiled seductively as she leaned over his desk, her cleavage becoming more visible to sight.
'Who are you and what are you doing in my office?" He questioned in a strict and lurid tone. Aydah's heart skipped a bit at the sound of his booming voice. She had never in her wildest dreams thought his voice was that deep and attractive. It made her knees go weak.
This was the man Bushra is trying to manipulate into divorcing her? If Aydah could get her way with him, she'd never look at any in her life again. It would only him and him forever. But here she was trying to seduce him because his wife was tired of the marriage and she wanted out.
She composed herself and walked around his desk. She walked slowly and steadily as she swayed her hips side. She saw his eyes wander to her hips. 'Oh, baby… you look so stressed out. I can make that go away if you give me the chance to get in your…" she lowered face to his and leaned in to kiss him.
He quickly shoved her face away and got to his feet. For a split second, he was about to fall into her trap. She's very attractive, he admits. But cheating on Bushra and having an affair was the last thing he could ever think of doing. And fornicating would never come to his mind, left alone practicing it.
'Don't making it hard for us by playing hard to get, I know you want it. We both want it." She walked towards him but he had bit her to it by calling the securities on her.
The whole men outside rushed in to arrest her.
'Take her to the guard room and interrogate her," he gave out the order. Aydah's jaw dropped as her eyes gaped in fear. If she had known this was how she's end up, she wouldn't have dared to play with him.
