Chapter 47_ Trip To Italy

“Arya…. You know —-” Kane words were cut off when the door to the office was pushed opened again, and his father entered holding a brown file with him and at that moment, Kane, for the first couldn't help but be happy inwardly at the sight of his father and a smile crossed his features as he beamed at Franko Maranello. His father had just saved him from lying to Arya, and possibly caught in a tight spot.

Arya scrambled off Kane’s lap, standing upright as she lowered her head embarrassedly, and a hue of pink staining her cheeks. Oh God, Did he see us?’ Arya mused silently, watching as Franko approached them with a blank face.

“What's wrong, Arya? Do you feel sick?" Franko asked, and raised a brow at Kane as she looked between them suspiciously.

“Huh… N-No sir. I'm fine.” Arya replied flusteredly, and Franko gazed at her for a moment making Arya's heart raced at his stare but when he looked away and put down the file on Kane’s desk, he said to Arya.

"Follow me to my office.” He commanded, and Arya nodded her head as she followed him to Franko's office, leaving Kane behind in the room.

Now, in Franko's office, Arya sat on the chair opposite her Boss as she awaited what he had to say to her. She had regained her composure and was no longer flustered over what happened earlier. Looking up at Franko, she remarked, “Sir, You wanted to see me?"

Franko nodded his head, his tone serious as he looked back at Arya, “Look, Arya. This is very important and I can only entrust this task to you because I know how sufficient you are in any tasks given to you. Since you have been looking after my son, I have been seeing changes in him and how he handles things with maturity now. We have a problem in the Maranello subsidiary company in Italy, and I want to send you over there to straighten the workers there and put everyone in their places, making sure everything’s working perfectly over there. I will be sending you there as the head of the client relations department at Maranello Enterprises.”

Arya looked at Franko with widened eyes as she blinked her amber eyes severally, she couldn't wrap her head over his words. What did he just say? He was sending her to Italy? And — And as the head of the client relations in Maranello Group? Is this another promotion for her?’ Arya's thoughts raced as she mulled over her Boss's words.

“Kane will be coming with you. One more thing, Arya. You will be tested when you get there so I suggest you get over your fear and learn how to drive. Kane is there, he can coach you. I will find someone else to replace your position while the both of you start preparing for your trip. You have two months time to make preparations and once the two months are over. You and Kane will be flying to Italy.” Franko continued, and Arya just stared at him dazedly without saying a word. She was speechless beyond words. She couldn't believe she had just been promoted again, and that too in the span of one month!

“Sir. Do you mean to say that I’m now the new client relations department manager?” Arya asked, and Franko nodded at her.

“Yes, but before taking over the position. You will be undergoing an internship.” Franko remarked,

"Internship?” Arya repeated,

"Yes, you have the talent, but before putting you on the Job I need you to learn the skills of a good manager. You and Kane will be undergoing different tasks over there, and once everything is sorted out in Italy. Kane will take over his position as the rightful CEO of the Maranello Enterprises.” Franko said, stunning Arya once again with his words.

“CEO? Kane will become the CEO after the trip?" Arya asked, her voice raising slightly as she looked at Franko dumbfounded.

“Yes, but No one should know of this yet, I’m telling you this because It's your responsibility to look after him over there and make sure everything goes well. Whatever I discussed with you stays in this office, Ok? I don't want to hear it anywhere and Kane is not aware of this so you must keep it to yourself, Arya. Is that clear?" Franko stated with command oozing from his tone, and Arya bobbed her head signaling with her hands that her lips were sealed. Franko gave her a nod of approval, and excused her from his office.

As soon as Arya left Franko's office, and the door was shut, she couldn't help but want to shriek in happiness as she bumped her fists together, trying to contain her excitement. But as she realized the heavy responsibility that came along with the position, Arya's excitement dwindled slightly as doubts filled her mind. What if she couldn't control the people over there?

Just as she reached her office, she saw Kane with smiles all over his face as he beckoned her to come hug him. Arya, though curious to know what was making him happy couldn't help but walk towards him and throw herself at him as he embraced her tightly in his arms, and then, he got up, and twirled her around the office, making Arya giggled at his actions.

“Reason?" Arya asked once they were seated on the comfy couch in the office, and Kane grinned at her.

“Congratulations to the new head manager of Maranello Enterprises!" Kane said, and Arya looked up at him in surprise.

“You knew?" She said, and when he gave her a nod, she leaned forward and asked curiously, "What else do you know?”

Kane shrugged, "Of course, I knew about your promotion. I'm the CEO’S son, remember? I'm aware of everything that takes place here. And talking of changes, Are you ready to learn how to drive under my wings? We don't have much time to practice before our trip and I don't want anyone looking down on you. So my love, What do you say?”

Arya stayed silent for some moment before gazing at Kane with determination in her eyes as she said, “I’m ready, Kane. Damn this fear, I will overcome it and take the wheel of driving in my hands."
