Chapter 18: Trapped By A Kiss 2

Out of joy, she rushed to Xavier, giving him a surprise hug. It was all out of ecstasy. She realized what she was doing and immediately broke the hug, but instead of Xavier letting her go, he pulled her back. It wasn't a hug, this time it was a kiss. Rachael was taken by surprise. Her eyes widened the moment his lips pressed against hers.

She kissed him back despite the odds, wrapping her hand around his neck. His hands slipped underneath her waist and dragged her closer to himself, pressing her firmly on his erection. This was crazy, but Rachael couldn't stop. Her body yearned for his and so did his.

Their lips glided together simultaneously with their tongue swirling in each other's mouths. She was all caught up in the moment, but it eventually hit her. Xavier was her boss! Her heartbeat raced as she broke the kiss. One look in his eyes and she could see lust that had already built up in them. It was only for a split second though. His eyes went back to their normal cold look once more.

Rachael stepped back a bit, cheek flushed in embarrassment. He was the one who initiated the kiss, but she was the one who felt the most awkward. Why did he even kiss her? Did he find her as attractive as the pretty Blondie? She looked nothing like Claudia. She had brown hair and wasn't as pretty as her. Or did he feel the need to try out new things? As all this thought came into her head, anger followed. The anger of him craving only sex from her. Probably he even saw her as an innocent slut. If there was even a word like that.

"Why did you do that?" she asked, tugging her hair between her ear while she gazed at him with antagonizing eyes. Instead of saying something, he just stared at her. Truth be told, he didn't know why he did that. It was a strong urge that kept calling him and he couldn't resist it.

Now he was sure of the power the woman in front of him possessed. One kiss and he felt like he was going to explode. He was baffled at how she effortlessly did Astonishing things to him with that naive look on her face.

"Let's go" he instructed, ignoring her questions because he feared the answer he might give. The answer he dreaded the most.

Rachael complied. She followed him back into the car. Her questions still stood, but it was okay if he didn't give her any response. There was nothing more to it, she convinced herself. The both of them were just caught up in the heat of the moment. After all, they were human.

"You can take tomorrow off" Xavier spoke softly amidst the unbearable silence that already tampered with her forbearance.

Rachael said nothing, staring out the window. Maybe she needed a break from him. That way she could stop thinking about him all the time. If she could give in to a kiss so effortlessly, she wondered what would happen if he asked for more. If at all she fell deeply in love with him, she was doomed because he didn't look like the type who would want anything to do with her. He was an influential and powerful man afterall while she was just a regular blogger.

************
Lunch break had always been her favorite part of the day, but today was different. She couldn't get the food past her throat. Wendy's restaurant's food was good and all, but the stir in her stomach prevented the food from going down. This tension dealt with her.

Her little battle stopped when she heard the chair in front of her being tugged. Out of curiosity, she raised her head but soon regretted it. Her mouth dropped in horror alongside the fork which made a loud noise as it hit the floor. She felt her legs become wobbly, ready to fail her at any point. The first impulse she got was to run, but the moment she got up, he spoke.

"Don't even think about it" Magnus said shifting his chair closer to the table. Rachael froze at this point, not knowing whether to scream or run despite what he said. She did none, sitting there with profound foreboding.

"Good. I don't think you wanna drag too much attention to your self" he smirked, striking more fear into her already timid self. She looked around. Everyone either ate or talked. No one paid attention to how apprehensive she looked. She bet If she even did shout, none of them would come to her rescue.

"Magnus, what do you want from me?" Her voice was completely drained of its melody.

"Oh yeah," he leaned back on his chair as he beckoned on the waiter with his brown hooded eyes not leaving hers.

The young lady walked over to Magnus's side of the table, not paying attention to the details of the utmost tension that surrounded that table.

"My usual," he said and the waitress nodded.

So this wasn't even his first time here. At that point, It felt like she was the one who walked directly into the predator's nest.

"I plan on relocating if it is the apartment you are here for"

"But darling I'm not here for that apartment. I'm here for you" he pointed at her and she gulped.

"What do you want from me then?" she returned to her meal. Maybe if she acted more calmly, he might not perceive the aversion she felt inwards.

"I see you've already taken down the article about Callum"

"He threatened me"

"And he also threatened you to put an article of me instead".

"No, he didn't, I did that on my own. I'm not scared of you" she snapped at him. Oh, that was a lie. A big one. One look at those dreaded eyes and she felt her life been slipped out of her body.

"You see that's good. Now I know where exactly to channel my contempt to" he heaved closer. "Rachael sweetie. You see, people hardly get on my bad side, but when they do. Oh," he shook his head as his lips released a chuckle. A cold shiver ran down her spine.
