The man stood in the corner of the room, his arms crossed tightly over his chest, his jaw clenched with barely-contained fury as he watched Nadine's interaction with Lucien.

He could grinning every moment with his little brother, the two of them seemed close from a distance but Diego knew his brother was up to no good and would try everything he could to spoil his plans.

Diego watched how her face lit up when she looked at the Lucien, her eyes were shining with affection and warmth. She reached out to touch his arm, a gesture that seemed so natural and effortless, but it cut the man like a knife. He couldn't tear his gaze away, even though every second that passed was like a drop of acid in his soul.

“Damn, that bastard! I knew he was up to no good,” Diego cursed angrily as he intentionally made his presence known to help but he acted like he wasn't aware which seemed to add more to his frustrations.

The moment he came uninvited, he already knew he was up to no good, ready to distroy his thousands years of plans.
They were both brothers and at the same time processed the same kinds of powerful powers but the only difference is that Lucien is unable to read everyone's mind unless he was giving an access or the person is a weakling.


Diego's muscles tensed the moment he heard their ongoing conversations, he could sense his brother was ready to stabs by their father's side and go against him. Diego clenched his fist, his breath coming in short, sharp bursts.The scene in front of him seemed to unfold in slow motion, each word, each gesture, a sharp reminder of that he needed to carry forward with his plans before it gets too late.

Before Diego would know he saw Nadine's hand pulling Lucien's hands with a pleading hand while calling out boss to him.

“Boss, mind reconsider having me as an actress under your entertainment?”

“Trust me, you won't regret having me.Or having my second instead. She's an inspiring model.” Nadine said but Lucien's expression seemed to change dramatically.

Lucien realized the lady he has an encountered with was definitely the one Nadine was speaking about. Even without her being here, she has seen together in the morning in the gym even though they cooperated and acted like they do not know others.

When he woke up this morning, he realized the lady has the perfect body shape to be a model that even without being told, he knew the moment she said out her foot out to the world she be immediately hire as those with body like her are easily hired.

“How about you give the both of us a chance, huh? Trust you won't regret hiring us,”

“It has always been our dreams to pursue each of our dreams. But my parents has been against it that the would literally cut you off the moment you say anything that has to do with entertainment industries,”

Lucien was about to say something when Diego walked up to them with a cold boring look, Nadine was unaware of his presence as her hand were still pulling Lucien while she was pleading to be given a chance. She was seeking for a response which was why she didn't the man was behind her.

“Nadine, go back inside your room,”Diego spoke up as he finally made his presence known to her. He could see how startled she was when she heard his voice.

“Alright,” Nadine muttered back in response as she stood up, she was exceptionally sad that she was close on getting a response from the man yet Diego didn't hesitate on cutting through it.

“Boss, do not forget to reconsider what I told you,” She mouthed before walking away.

“What a shameless man!” Nadine thought as she walked back inside. She couldn't believe she was about to get response from the man yet he suddenly barges in out of nowhere.

“Arrh.. He's so bent on frustrating me,” Nadine just wanted to crush the man in pieces.

Diego's eyes were dark, his expression stony, his stance rigid and aggressive.

"Hey," he said, his voice low and dangerous with his eyes fixed on his Lucien. "Do you mind if I have a word with you?"

“When have you ever asked to have a conversation with me, huh?” Lucien asked.

He has intentionally said so to his brother's reaction and just like he expected, the man was controlling his anger inwardly which made him chuckle.

But the Lucien didn't even glance in his direction, his attention still focused on Nadine's retreating figure,his grins ringing in the air.

Diego's chest tightened, his anger rising like a tide as he thought Lucien was biting more than he can chew.

“Are you worried that I'll tell her you plan on killing her to retrieve your dead lover who looks exactly like her?” Lucien coldly asked.

“You!” Diego immediately gripped Lucien’s neck and pushed her to the nearest wall, choking the hell outta her.

“Seemed am right. I can see the reason why I was unable to read what was going on your mind. You have it locked because you don't want me to know your next move huh,” Lucien said despite the fact that he was being choked up and the huge on losing his life.

Of course, Diego was more powerful than him that he could literally perish him if he loses control and let out his demons which he doesn't always let out unless it's in an important situation.

“Get that thought of your mind, Diego. She's dead, let her rest!”

“She's not dead to me. I'll fucking retrieve her soul back,” Diego screamed out.

“How? Father is aware of the old man! He's aware the old man died!” Lucien yelled out and almost immediately, Diego hand dropped off right from Lucien's neck.

“Damn! So there's a spy among my guards!” Diego asked before taking a step back.

“I'll have the spy head rolling on the ground,” He calmly said before walking away.


MAIN HALL

Diego stormed into the main hall, his gaze sweeping over the assembled guards, his voice a whip crack of authority.

“Master, how do you plan to have the spy fished out?” Alex asked as he stood besides the man. He knew for the spy to be working for his master's father, the spy is definitely not an ordinary person.

Even Diego realized the spy is a strong target for him not to know or sense anything about the spy.

“One of you here is a spy.” He said seeing the guards unbelievable expression, they all seemed shocked like it wasn't expecting.

Almost immediately Diego said so, he immediately scanned their expression while trying to read unto their faces and body language. And of course, it was one of the easiest task to pass for a high rank spy who undergoes hard training, the spy could realize pass that without being caught or give out a suspicious move.

The first step in fishing out a spy was to observe body language, Diego warcraft out of for any sign of nervousness, such as fidgeting with the hem of their clothes, avoiding eyes contact or excessive sweating. But they all seemed to pass the first test.

Diego moved to and fro looking into them one after the others.

“Alex, check the movement of the guards who have been leaving the mansion for past two weeks,” Diego said.

“And check the names of the guards that were on duty on the day I spoke to the old man last and the ones that were aware of his death,” Diego ordered .

“Did anything happen, master?” A guard asked which seemed to have Diego eyes on him. But immediately believed it's nothing but a trick to have him let down his guard and choose the wrong person as a spy.

At that moment, The man realized the spy might not be one. The spy might be more than two.

“Damn! He must have let down his guard for them to be able to enter without knowing,” Diego thought.

And almost immediately, Alex gave him a sheet that have the details of the things he had asked for earlier.

“Ask their personal details about themselves and their families and crosscheck it with the answer during their interview,” Diego said.

He believed there wouldn't be a way spy would say the exact thing unless the information he dropped during the interview was real.

Diego skimmed through the sheet of paper given to him, it was the details of how the guards has been leaving the mansion.

Minutes passed, After hearing each of their response on their personal details, Alex checked everything with the interview they had years back when seeking for job.

“Master, four people response to their personal details when seeking for job is different from their answers now while the others said exactly the same thing,” Alex whispered into the man's ears making him to grin.

Diego believed among those four, a spy would definitely be among them.

“ Take them away.”

“Stop,” Diego said stopping them while they were about to take them away.

“If they do not corporate. Have one of their legs chopped off,” He coldly said.

As Diego walked away, among the guards that had said the exact words when seeking for job and when asked again, he smirked evilly for passing the test.

It wasn't a narrow escape to him as he ate leaving no crumb.
