Chapter 33 Kidnapped
The distance between the two was several meters.
Elijah had witnessed that scene just now.
Yvonne wanted to greet Elijah, but she was deterred by his cold gaze.
"Playing with a married man, does it give you a great sense of accomplishment?" Elijah's voice was icy, his gaze sharp as a knife.
Yvonne's secret was instantly exposed, so she directly expressed her thoughts. "Seeing such a loving couple fighting for me, I do feel accomplished."
"There is no marriage that cannot be broken, only mistresses who are not trying hard enough. Miss Brooks, continue your efforts and strive to become Mrs. White as soon as possible." Elijah's expression revealed his deep disgust. "I have something to attend to, so I'll leave now. Don't forget to settle the bill."
Yvonne sensed his jealousy and smiled casually. "You don't need to worry about that."
Elijah found his car and drove hurriedly to Zero Club.
Louis was treating them tonight, and they had been taking turns calling him since the afternoon. He had been looking forward to dinner with Yvonne, so he declined it directly.
Finally, when Yvonne finished her overtime, they sat together for less than half an hour before she excused herself to the restroom and disappeared.
A waiter said Yvonne was in the parking lot, so he rushed over and saw Anthony holding Yvonne's hand. They smiled at each other, clearly like a reunited couple.
That scene somehow pierced his heart.
Philippe and the others were discussing recent interesting events, while Elijah silently drank his liquor.
He opened his phone, wanting to delete all of Yvonne's contact information, but after several attempts, he ended up giving in to his soft-heartedness.
"Elijah seems off today. Is it possible he's heartbroken?" Mason casually remarked. “Remember the divination I did for you. It's fine to find a woman to alleviate your loneliness for now, but it's best not to get emotionally involved. If you do, you'll be in trouble!"
"I'm not that bored," Elijah said nonchalantly. "Get a deck of cards and do another divination."
"Has the previous divination come true?" Philippe eagerly joined in. "Has Elijah had emotional setbacks?"
"No," Elijah said firmly.
Louis asked a waiter for an unopened deck of cards and handed it to Mason.
"What is Elijah going to divine?" Mason asked knowingly, "Career or..."
Elijah said in a deep voice, "Love." Philippe and Louis exchanged meaningful glances, saying "oh" at the same time.
Mason skillfully divided the deck of cards into several piles and let Elijah draw a few cards randomly.
The first card was the Four of Hearts.
"Elijah, you have too many expectations for your current relationship, but reality and ideals are different, so you are very disappointed with her right now."
As soon as Mason finished speaking, Philippe asked, "Is she surnamed Brooks or Clark?"
Elijah silently revealed the second card, the Three of Diamonds.
"Elijah's current relationship is at a critical turning point. It could either transition from ambiguity to a stable romantic relationship or come to a sudden end." Mason looked at Elijah. "The decision is temporarily in your hands."
Elijah appeared calm, but his heart was in turmoil. He silently pondered, "If I continue, will there be a satisfactory result?"
"The final two cards will reveal it." Mason's gaze fell on the two covered piles of cards.
After hesitating for a moment, Elijah casually flipped out two cards.
All the attention was now on Mason, who took a deep breath and hesitated to speak.
"Spit it out!" Philippe's curiosity soared, urging Mason.
"First, I want to make a statement. Tarot card divination represents only a specific period of time and is not set in stone. The future will change according to a person's magnetic field." Mason's words weighed heavily on Elijah's heart.
"Based on the current divination, Elijah's future relationships will be full of twists and turns, unlikely to have a happy ending." Mason consoled Elijah, "Of course, this kind of divination should not be entirely relied upon."
Elijah opened a can of beer and smiled lightly. "Cheers."
The atmosphere, which was originally lively, suddenly became somewhat melancholic.
"Just for reference, don't take it too seriously. I believe that what is meant to be will be, and anything is possible," Philippe reassured Elijah discreetly.
"You’re overthinking." Elijah forced a stiff smile and finished his beer in one gulp.
Only Louis didn't drink. He was the one who would send Elijah back to Rhode Hills.
Elijah's stomach was uncomfortable, but his mind was still somewhat clear.
Lying in Yvonne's bedroom, where she had slept, he closed his eyes, immersed in memories of Yvonne.
An incomprehensible pain surged up inside him.
He had always been rational when it came to emotions.
Seeing Yvonne and Anthony holding hands in the parking lot, he felt so jealous that his eyes turned red.
He couldn't let himself get deeper into this, it was not too late to stop now.
First, he blocked Yvonne's phone number and then deleted her WhatsApp.
After doing all this, he felt even more irritated, far from the imagined relief.
Yvonne had a good night's sleep.
Abigail had calculated her, but she immediately fought back and turned the tables.
However, in the future, she would need to be more careful at FA Center Company.
After waking up in the morning, she wanted to greet Elijah and end the unpleasantness from last night.
She checked WhatsApp only to find out that he had deleted her.
She tried calling twice, but it couldn't connect.
It seemed that Elijah wanted to draw a clear line with her.
Losing such a good partner was indeed a bit regrettable.
Yvonne revised a drawing for the whole day, but it was rejected every time.
Now that she knew it was Abigail causing trouble, she remained calm.
“Reject it if you want. I will keep making changes and resubmit until it is approved,” Yvonne thought.
Yvonne invited Hannah to a bar, and they enjoyed chatting while listening to live blues music.
Hannah asked Yvonne if she was dating Elijah. Yvonne smiled and shook her head. "Sleeping with a man like him can be okay, but dating is too tiring."
"But Philippe doesn't say the same..." Hannah realized she had said too much and covered her mouth.
Yvonne sensed something and asked with a smile, "When did you meet Philippe?"
"We haven't met in person, we just added each other as friends. We chat a bit when we have nothing to do." Hannah's gaze became a bit uneasy.
"Sounds suspicious. He's unmarried, and you're not married either. It's nice to chat more." Yvonne patted Hannah's shoulder.
Hannah smiled, pursing her lips.
They had a few more drinks. After leaving the bar, Yvonne called a cab and dropped Hannah off at home before heading back to Sunshine Community.
Yvonne sat in the back seat, supporting her head with one hand and closing her eyes to rest.
Feeling the speed of the car increasing, Yvonne opened her eyes and exclaimed, "Are we there yet?"
The driver remained silent.
Yvonne suddenly shivered!
She glanced outside and saw pitch-black darkness without any tall buildings in sight. Though she couldn't be certain where she was, it certainly wasn't downtown!
"Stop the car!" she shouted in despair.
The driver made a sharp turn, throwing her body forcefully against the car door.
She quickly composed herself and opened WhatsApp. She sent Hannah her location and a voice message. "Hannah, the cab driver has kidnapped me! Please help me call the police! I've been taken out of the downtown area!"
After a sudden brake, the driver turned around and tried to snatch Yvonne's phone.
At this moment, a black sedan suddenly appeared in front of the car, and two burly men came out from inside.
Yvonne tightly clutched her phone, refusing to let go.
The men dragged Yvonne down and snatched her phone. They forced her to unlock it and retract the message.
Every second counted, as it meant a higher chance for the message to be irretrievable, giving her a chance for salvation.
"My friend has already called the police. It would be in your best interest to let me go." Yvonne quietly assessed the three men in front of her, diligently memorizing their appearances.
The driver was thin and dark, while the other two had a scar and a squint on their foreheads.
Slap!
The driver's palm struck her face. "Whore!"
The man holding Yvonne's phone forcefully threw it onto the ground.
The screen shattered.
Yvonne's legs gave out, but before she could react, a cloth was stuffed into her mouth, her hands were bound, and a black hood was placed over her head.
Soon enough, she was taken to another car.
The car sped off, and Yvonne cried out in despair.
Now, in addition to Grace, she had another adversary, Abigail.
Elijah had saved her last time, but this time, her hopes were pinned on the police.
Before long, she was shoved out of the car.
The moment the hood was removed, she found herself in an abandoned warehouse.
The three men leered at her.
The driver pinched her face, laughing with a lustful expression. "Feels good."
Fear and panic filled Yvonne's eyes, but with a cloth in her mouth, she couldn't utter even a single word.
"Don't worry, we'll take care of what needs to be done first," Scarface said, pulling out a syringe and a small bottle of clear liquid from his pocket.
The scene of villains injecting drugs into their victims from movies flashed in Yvonne's mind, leaving her too scared to struggle.
As the two men held her down, she fought with all her might, but the liquid still found its way into her body.
She became weak, collapsing on the ground like a pile of mud, her labored breathing growing heavier.
Scarface took out a small camera and pointed it at Yvonne.
The driver and the other man began undressing.
Yvonne's body burned with unbearable heat.
"This medicine from Norway is truly impressive. It takes less than two minutes to take effect!" Scarface laughed, bending down and ripping open Yvonne's coat, taking the opportunity to give her a kiss on the face.
With a cloth in her mouth, all Yvonne could emit were painful and desperate moans.
At that moment, the driver's phone rang.
"Even if it's God calling, we'll finish what we started first!" Squint signaled for him to turn it off.
However, the driver answered the call, and after a few sentences, his face immediately turned grave. "We haven't touched her yet. Alright, we'll leave immediately."
Scarface cursed angrily, "The video is almost ready, and now you want to stop? Are you insane?"
"If you don't want to meet a gruesome end, pack up and leave this place," the driver said, already shutting off the camera.
The three of them quickly departed.
The drugs in Yvonne's body grew stronger, causing her to writhe on the ground like a snake.
She felt an intense heat throughout her entire body, her vision becoming blurry.
The sound of familiar footsteps grew closer and closer...
