Kael Darkmore.

I've been in my office since six in the morning. I was woken up by the insistent ringing of my cell phone. When I picked it up, I saw that there were messages from my private investigator. Curiosity and anxiety immediately seized me, and I opened the messages. My heart raced as I read the content. Ronan, that bastard, had been cheating on Yara for a long time, and not only that? He had also assaulted her. Every line I read and every piece of information I saw made my blood boil with rage.

Anger consumed me. I couldn't believe he had the audacity to lay a finger on Yara. I'm a judge, and I know the laws and how they work, but when it comes to her, my obsession changes the rules of the game. There are no limits to what I'm willing to do to protect her and make sure she's safe.

I knew I had to act quickly. I immediately called Lorenzo, who will be Yara's new lawyer, asking him to come to the mansion as soon as possible. There was no time to lose; today, Yara was going to sign the divorce papers and put a definitive end to her relationship with Ronan.

The day had only just begun, but there was no time to rest. I needed to prepare everything to ensure that Yara was safe and that Ronan paid for his actions. The obsession I feel for Yara drives me to act, to ensure that she is protected, and to bring justice for everything she has suffered.

Finally, I hear the mansion's doorbell ring. Lorenzo had arrived. It wasn't long before I heard knocks on my office door.

'' Come in.

As he enters, I see him straightening his tie, trying to hide the fact that he's dressed in a hurry.

''Good morning, Kael,'' Lorenzo says, trying to sound calm, but I can see the curiosity and concern in his eyes.

''Good morning.'' I gesture for him to sit down. ''Thank you for coming so early.

He nods, taking a seat in the chair opposite my desk.

'' I imagine it's something urgent. What did you find out?

I hand him my cell phone, showing him the messages and files I've received from the investigator. Lorenzo analyzes every detail carefully. I see his expression harden as he reads.

''This is more than enough to start contentious divorce proceedings. We have clear evidence of adultery and assault.

'' Exactly. And I don't want this to drag on. We'll get on with it today. Use whatever you have to. If you have to forge something, do it. I want Yara to be free of this bastard as soon as possible.

Lorenzo nods, understanding the urgency and gravity in my voice.

'' I'll prepare all the documents right now. We need Yara to sign as soon as possible. In addition, we can apply for a protective order, considering the evidence of aggression. This would keep Ronan away from her during the process.

'' Good. Do whatever is necessary. I don't want that bastard anywhere near her again. And if he tries anything, let him be arrested immediately. I can make sure the court tries him quickly.

Lorenzo starts organizing the papers in his briefcase, preparing to draw up the necessary documents.

'' Kael, I understand that you want to resolve this quickly, but we need to keep everything in line. You're a judge, and we need to be careful not to compromise your position.

'' Don't worry about my position, Lorenzo. I've handled worse cases and come out unscathed. Just do as I ask.

Lorenzo puts a hand on my shoulder in a gesture of support.

''Let's make sure she's safe and gets justice. We'll start these divorce proceedings today, and we'll do whatever it takes to finish.

I nod, feeling some of my tension ease. I know Lorenzo is right. He's the best lawyer to handle this.

'' I'm going to talk to her now. I'll explain everything and make sure she knows she's not alone.

Lorenzo agrees.

'' I'll wait here. I'll advance the preliminary documents. Once she's ready, we can proceed with the signing.

I leave the office and walk to Damien's room, where Yara is resting. Every step I take is full of determination. Today is the beginning of the end for that bastard. And the beginning of a new life for Yara, far from any pain or fear.

As I reach the bedroom door, I take a deep breath before knocking. I hope she's awake, we need to get this over with as soon as possible. The door opens, and I see her tired face. I feel my heart squeeze as I notice her appearance.

''I hope I didn't wake her. ''I say, trying to keep calm.

She shakes her head slowly, confirming that she is awake. I notice the mark on her face, now purple, and my jaw twitches involuntarily, trying to control my anger.

'' Yara, are you ready to sign the divorce contract?

Her eyes widen in shock.

''Are you ready yet?'' she asks, stuttering.

''Yes.'' I confirm. ''All you have to do is sign it, and Lorenzo will take care of the rest. Lorenzo is the lawyer who will be taking on your case.

I see his eyes glistening with tears.

''And… what if he doesn't sign?'' she asks, her voice trembling.

I stroked her cheek, trying to convey reassurance.

''You're safe with us. Your lawyer will apply for a protective order, which means he can't come near you. And if he tries, he'll be arrested.

Relief started to show on his face. I moved closer, placing a soft kiss on his forehead.

''Don't worry, my angel. You'll soon be free of this man. Let's go.

I hold out my hand to her, and, with a sigh of relief, she takes it tightly. I take her to my office, where Lorenzo is already waiting.

When we arrive, Lorenzo gets up.

''Good morning, Yara. '' He greets her professionally.

He signals for Yara to sit down in the chair next to the desk and begin to prepare the documents.

''Here's the divorce contract. '' Lorenzo says as he places the document on the table. ''As Kael mentioned, you just need to sign here, and the process will start immediately.

Yara looks at the document with a mixture of nervousness and hope. I can see the tension in her eyes, but also a glint of determination.

''This is what we need to do to make sure you're free of Ronan,'' I say, trying to reassure her.

Seeing that she's still tense, I quickly begin to explain.

''Once you've signed, I'll arrange the protective order myself. This will ensure that Ronan can't get close to you. As soon as you sign, Lorenzo will immediately go to Ronan to make sure he signs the papers too.

Yara takes a deep breath and, with her hand trembling slightly, begins to sign the document. I watch her every move, feeling a mixture of pride and relief at seeing her make this brave decision.

'' That's it,'' says Lorenzo, checking that the contract has been duly signed. ''Now, I'll get the protective order and start the divorce proceedings.

'' Just sign it, I'll make sure the protective order is issued immediately. This will ensure that Ronan can't get close to you. In addition, we'll start divorce proceedings. I'll make sure that everything is dealt with as a matter of priority. '' I say without much ado.

I turn to her with a soft look.

''You're safe, my angel. As soon as Lorenzo leaves, he'll go to Ronan to make sure he signs the documents. Don't worry about anything else.

She looks at me, her gaze filled with gratitude, and a slight smile appears on her lips. I feel a tightness in my chest, knowing that there's still a long way to go, but also a sense of mission accomplished, for now.

'' Okay, everything's perfect. '' says Lorenzo, double-checking the documents to make sure everything is in order. ''I'll go to Ronan now and get him to sign. As soon as he signs, I'll bring the signed papers back to you.

He gets up from his seat, looking determined. I feel a sense of relief, knowing that Lorenzo is taking care of the crucial part of the process. Because if it were me, I'd have had that son of a bitch killed by now. I don't mind getting my hands dirty.

''Thank you, Lorenzo. '' I say softly.

He nods slightly and hurries out of the office, determined to resolve the situation as quickly as possible.

I turn to Yara, who is looking relieved and a little calmer. I try to convey a silent comfort, knowing that the worst is about to be resolved.

''There's no need to worry, Lorenzo will manage. He's a better lawyer. '' I say, trying to strike a lighter tone.

If he can't get the bastard to sign, I'll send someone to get rid of the son of a bitch myself.
