♥ Chapter 60 ♥

Damien Darkmore.

I'm in my office, finishing up some patient reports, when my cell phone vibrates on the table. When I see Magnus's name on the screen, I answer immediately.

''Damien, we need to talk. '' Magnus's voice is heavy and full of frustration. ''Kael warned me that Yara's parents haven't stopped visiting the mansion since we went to Paris. They try to drag her back to that miserable life.

I close my eyes, feeling the anger already starting to build up in me. Magnus continues:

''I can't take this situation anymore. They know what they did to their own daughter, but they still try to interfere in her life. Ronan continues with his usual shit. Prostitutes, drinks... He and her parents still think they have some power over her.

''Bastards. '' I mutter, the anger boiling stronger. Just hearing about these bastards makes my body stiffen with hatred.

Magnus sighs on the other end of the line, and I can hear the sound of the glass being placed on the table.

''When you finish your duties, come to the company. Kael and I will be here to talk more about this. We have to resolve this situation once and for all. We can no longer allow them to disturb our Yara.

''Alright, Magnus. As soon as I'm done here, I'll be on my way. '' I respond, trying to remain calm, but irritation is already taking over me.

Magnus ends the call, and I let out a long sigh. The anger I feel towards Yara's parents is deep, but nothing compares to the hatred I have for Ronan. He was the one who hurt her, controlled her, and destroyed much of her self-esteem. My jaw clenches at the thought of how much she suffered at the hands of that wretch. But now she is happy. We are happy with her, and we will do everything necessary to ensure that happiness continues.

Yara belongs to us, and no one, absolutely no one, will take her from us.

I focus back on the documents in front of me, speeding things up as much as I can. I quickly sign the medical records, check the latest exams, and leave everything ready for my patients to be sent to the next shift. My thoughts are far away.

It took me less time than I expected to finish everything. As soon as I finish, I get up and grab my coat, leaving the office in a hurry. My responsibilities at the hospital are important, but nothing is more important than Yara right now. I go down to the hospital garage, where my car is parked.

I get into the vehicle, and when I start the engine, anger still pulses in the back of my mind. Ronan's name echoes in my head like a constant threat. She is ours now, and any attempt by him to interfere will be met with force.

I speed up, leaving the hospital behind and driving towards Magnus's company. I can already imagine Kael and Magnus ready to discuss the next step. We know what must be done. To ensure Yara's safety and so that she has the peace and happiness she deserves, this matter needs to be resolved once and for all. And we will not hesitate to do whatever is necessary.

Yara brought us happiness we never knew before. And because of it, we are capable of anything.

I arrive at Magnus's company and park the car in the garage, a reserved space that I have direct access to. I exit the vehicle with a sense of urgency.

Furthermore, I enter the building, heading straight for the elevator. I press the button, and while I wait, I run my hand over my face, frustrated. All we wanted was peace after Yara's divorce from Ronan. She deserved a new beginning without interference or shadows from the past. But instead, her parents and that bastard, Ronan, seem determined to destroy her life. Anger grows inside me just thinking about the situation.

The elevator doors open, and I step out, heading towards Magnus' office. The secretary, upon seeing me, nods in recognition. It is not necessary to ask permission to enter; I'm already familiar with the path. I give a quick wave and continue, entering the office without knocking.

As I enter, I see Magnus and Kael, but Kael is on the phone, his expression filled with fury. The atmosphere is tense and heavy with the energy of anger.

''These sons of bitches! How dare they! '' Kael shouts into the phone, anger evident in every word. ''Marcos, contact those bastard police officers and tell them to go after Ronan. Take him to that abandoned warehouse in town. I don't want to know anymore, this bastard dies today!

The intensity in Kael's voice is so shocking that I almost freeze. I've never seen him so enraged. I look at Magnus, who also seems surprised by Kael's outburst.

Kael finally hangs up the phone, and the tension in the office is palpable. Magnus and I exchange a worried look, and I step forward, asking:

''Kael, what happened? Why are you so furious?

Kael turns to me, his eyes blazing with a fury I can barely describe.

''Yara went shopping, and her poor parents tried to take her by force to Ronan's house. '' he says, the anger in his voice leaving no room for doubt. ''She managed to defend herself, but if it weren't for Thiago, Ronan would have attacked her. Marcos arrived soon after and resolved the situation. I can't take it anymore! This bastard deserves to die now, and then I can resolve her parents' situation. They deserve prison, these sons of bitches.

I feel anger rising through my body as I hear what happened. My heart races, and the indignation I feel is almost unbearable. The thought of Ronan hitting Yara again makes me furious.

Magnus, who has been silent until now, slams the table hard, his face contorted in a gesture of controlled rage.

''This ends today! '' he shouts, his voice full of determination. ''He tried to hurt her again. This bastard will suffer the consequences for messing with what is ours.

Magnus's statement only increases the intensity of the situation. The desire to resolve everything once and for all is palpable. We cannot allow Ronan to continue threatening Yara or her parents to continue to torment her. They need to pay for their actions and the suffering they caused.

''So what do we do now? '' I ask, voice steady, trying to maintain clarity amidst the storm of emotions.

Kael, his anger still visible, takes a step forward, his eyes fixed on us with an intensity that shows how determined he is.

''Marcos is already organizing the situation with the police to ensure that Ronan is taken to the warehouse. '' explains Kael.

Magnus, who remains clearly irritated, nods in agreement.

''Then we will wait for them in the shed. It's today that we're going to put an end to this damn thing.

With the decision made, and our determination renewed, we headed to the warehouse, aware that our mission is to protect Yara at all costs. The peace we seek for Yara is within our reach, and we will do whatever it takes to ensure she can live without further threats. Even if ensuring it means getting blood on our hands, we don't care.
