♥ Chapter 33 ♥
Ronan Blake.
As soon as the damn lawyer leaves, my anger explodes. I pick up the glass vase that my secretary had placed on the table and throw it against the wall with all my might. The sound of glass shattering echoes through the room but is drowned out by my screams:
''Bastard! I'm going to kill this bitch! How dare you disrespect me like that? How dare you send a lawyer? And even worse, how dare you ask for a divorce?
My breathing is labored, and my chest is rising and falling rapidly as I try to control the hatred that consumes me. Yara has always been mine. She belongs to me. It doesn't matter that I never loved that woman; the pleasure was in the power, in knowing that she was under my control, cleaning my house, preparing my meals. She was a gift from my father, and now she dares to run away from me?
I leave the office furious, ignoring the scared looks from the employees. I pass through the lobby without looking at anyone, leaving the company straight to my car. Furthermore, I put my foot down on the accelerator with only one destination in mind: Yara's parents' house. If she thinks she can get rid of me so easily, she is very mistaken.
The anger only grows with every kilometer I walk. Finally, I arrive at their house. I park anyway and get out of the car, heading straight to the door. I don't even bother knocking, I just walk in.
''Where is she?! '' I shout as soon as I enter the room. My in-laws are sitting on the couch, watching television. When they see me, both of their expressions turn into pure contempt.
''Ronan, what is this? '' asks Yara's mother, a strict and controlling woman known for her severity.
''Yara divorced me! '' I growl, my tone full of indignation. ''That ingrate sent a lawyer to my office with the divorce papers! How dare she do this to me?
I see their gaze narrow. Instead of surprise, I see irritation.
''Ungrateful! '' exclaims Yara's mother, her voice cutting like a knife. ''After everything we did for her, after we approved the marriage with you, this is how she thanks us? How disrespectful!
Yara's father suddenly stands up, his face turning red with anger, and points an accusing finger at his wife.
''It's your fault that she has that courage! '' he yells, walking up to the woman. ''If you had educated her even more harshly, she would never have done something like that!
Yara's mother shrugs, feeling the weight of his words. Fear flashes across her face, but she tries to control herself, even as anger begins to build in her chest. She looks at her husband but says nothing, just pressing her lips into a thin line, holding back the tears.
''It was you! '' he continues, getting closer, his voice full of contempt. ''You were always soft on her, you always let her think she had a choice! Now look what happened!
Without warning, he raises his hand and slaps her across the face. The dry sound echoes through the room, and she puts her hand to her cheek, where the skin burns. Her gaze drops to the ground, submission evident in her posture, but anger grows within her like a flame.
''You are a disappointment, just like your daughter. '' he says, spitting the words with venom. Yara's mother remains silent, her head lowered, accepting the words and the blow.
I watch the scene with grim satisfaction, seeing that at least Yara's father understands the gravity of the situation. Still, my blood boils with anger over the divorce.
Yara's father turns to me, trying to regain some composure.
''Let's find that girl. '' he says, firmly. ''Don't worry, Ronan, she will come back to you. Let's not let this shame fall on our family without an answer.
I nodded, relieved to finally see a proper reaction.
''Better this way. '' I respond, trying to control my heavy breathing. ''I won't let her think she can get away from me so easily. She will pay for this disobedience.
Yara's father agrees with a determined nod, while her mother stands still, still holding her pained face but not saying a word. I am determined to regain control of the situation and bring Yara back to where she belongs, by my side, where I can keep her under control.
''Do you have any idea where she might be? '' asks Yara's father, frowning.
I growled, irritated, feeling the anger boil inside me.
''I'm sure she ran to those Darkmore brothers' house. She wouldn't even have enough money to send a lawyer! '' I spit out the words, my face turning red with anger.
Yara's father nods, agreeing with my conclusion.
'' Very good. We will go to that place and bring her back to you. They can't do anything because she's my daughter. '' he says with cold conviction.
''I can't get close to her. '' I say coldly, trying to control the frustration growing inside me. ''That damn thing got a protective order against me. If I get any closer, I could be arrested.
Yara's father explodes with anger, his face turning red.
''What an ungrateful girl! '' he shouts, enraged. ''Inventing things to humiliate us like this! She will regret this humiliation, I swear!
He steps forward, breathing heavily, his eyes filled with fury. Yara's mother shrinks further, trying to disappear into her own skin, while he continues to curse.
''I won't let it go cheaply. Let's take this girl and show her that no one can embarrass us like that! '' Yara's father barks, clenching his fists.
I nod, approving of his words, as I think about my next step. The situation is complicated, but I know I won't give up. I can't let Yara and those Darkmore brothers think they won. She will pay for every attempt to run away from me.
''We need to find a way to bring her back without me needing to get close to her. '' I suggest, already starting to come up with a plan in my mind. ''And when she's back, I'll make sure she never tries anything like that again.''
Yara's father nods, calmer now, but still with determination in his eyes.
''Let's go there. She is my daughter, and I will do whatever it takes to bring her back where she belongs. '' he says, with conviction.
''Perfect,'' I reply, a cruel smile forming on my lips. ''They don't know who they are dealing with.
When I have her in my hands again, I will beat her until she can no longer stand up.
