Evander

Aurora laid her wreath on the mantle and draped the tri-color cords across it. She set up the Polaroid with it sighing contentedly. I beamed as she put small touches on our home. She took off her boots rubbing her aching feet as she supported herself on the banister to the stairs. I scooped her up, bridal style. Her giggle filled the house as I marched her up the stairs, and I grinned widely. The sound filling my heart with joy.

“You know, Love,” I said lowly into her ear. “Watching you hold your ground with my brother made me more than proud,” I growled out lowly into her ear. “How's that?” She said, her hand draped around my neck and began playing with the ends of my unruly hair. I grinned at her. “When you put him in his place, it was innately sexy,” I growled again, causing her to shiver in response. She smiled a bit shyly. “Don’t be coy with me, Love, I know beneath your innocence is a sex goddess waiting for the right time to blossom.” Her cheeks pinked, as I stared down at her.

She stroked my cheek, fingers trailing through my beard, a gasp hitched in her throat as our eyes met. “My love,” she whispered. “What?” I asked moving towards the bed. Both her small hands cupped my cheeks. “Your eyes are glowing the clearest crystal blue I’ve ever seen like the ocean met the moon. My magic has settled within you?” She asked with a hint of concern. “I believe so love, I could feel it spreading through me at the rite and now I can sense your use of it. Your emotions are now clearer,” she smiled. A tinge of sadness flitted across her features and pulsed from somewhere deep inside her. Her long dark lashes fluttered as she made her emotions into words. “It is ours now,” she said with remorse. “I am sorry you now share my burden. If I could take it back, I would shoulder it alone.” She confessed her worry.

I growled as I landed us both on the bed, my size covering her slight form. One hand braced my weight as I straddled her, while the other traced from her ear along her jaw. My Alpha aura rose to the surface, but it felt different. Within the rage was a churning calm. I tilted her chin up, revealing that I knew she could toss me aside with a simple gust of air, but she allowed my dominance it’s quarter. My voice rumbled out with an uncharacteristic amount of grit as the words in my heart answered her sadness with conviction. “I will gladly share any weight you carry, My Love,” she took in a sharp breath, a shudder sifting through her emotions. “I will calm your storms as you calm mine. And we will carry each other's burdens together. There is no sorry I will hear none of it,” I demanded, my voice harsh in a tone I never meant for her to hear. My fingers still gripped her chin firmly. She didn't flinch or waver, a lone tear leaked from her right eye, but her emotions were raw, laid bare for me to feel. “I have always been the burden to others as I carried the weight alone. I know no other way to be,” she choked out. “You will learn my love, as I will teach you. You are my moon and I will worship you above the moon goddess herself until you realize our pairing is more than a match of souls for a purpose, you are mine as I am yours and we will weather our hurricanes together. Be that what predestined fate has in store for us or growing old together right here within our pack or alone in a world of our making.” Emotions churned and shifted before they submitted and I was almost inwardly blinded by the love her heart shone for me. Two souls bared for one another, our connected tether strengthened as I relished in the feel of her light, her love, the ambiance of our existence together. Anything that stood in the way of this. I would end it. She was irrevocably my most prized treasure and I was about to show her just how much of a goddess she was to me.
