Chapter 22 – Meeting dangerous Werewolves – part 1

The cars parked on a clearing of grass after going to a small side street on the left side of the country road on which they were travelling.

Lucas Dalton signalled Aniya to join the three men near him the moment she exited her limousine, and Lisa followed her, with Davis right behind, leaving near the limousine Dan Rossi wondering where they were all going. When Aniya was near him, Lucas explained, “The house is along this street, almost three kilometres from here. Your friend can wait near the cars with our administratives and guard this road just in case someone arrives and we find ourselves surrounded.”

Aniya answered with a frown, “Lisa won’t do such a thing. She and Davis will go with me. I don’t trust any of you that much to be alone in the woods with the likes of you. You may trust one another, but I don’t.”

Lucian Davis exclaimed, “We could say the same thing about you, you... huff!”

That remark granted him a powerful punch in the stomach, and Aniya then raised Lucian’s head by pulling his ear up, and warned, “I won’t tell you another time, boy. You either show proper respect to a lady such as myself, or I will keep on punishing you as soon as I see you. Learn how to respect me and every woman around you, understood?”

Lucian raised his left hand, asking for her to stop, unable to mutter a single word because he was out of breath from Aniya’s punch. She then faced Lucas Dalton while twisting Lucian’s ear. “Give me five minutes to change into more appropriate clothes. I can’t walk or fight in this tight dress and heels.”

Without waiting for an answer, she let go of Lucian’s already red ear and went to her limousine, leaving behind a furious young man snorting. Lisa tilted her head and grinned. “You better do as she says, or you are going to face a lot of pain. I don’t know what you did for her to be so pissed with you, but if you want to be on her good side, you better keep your mouth shut and not annoy her.”

“I did nothing! That woman is just nuts!”

Two powerful slaps on both sides of his face made Lucian Davis fall on his knees, completely dizzy and unable to focus. Lisa then faced Lucas Dalton and asked, “Are you sure this guy is reliable? He is rather dumb! Aniya just told him to respect women, and he keeps on pushing his luck!”

“Well, he joined our Squad a few months ago, and we are still training him. He thinks that women are his inferiors, and we all tried to make him at least hide his thoughts and feelings towards women, but he keeps on failing to do so. I apologise. I will make sure he doesn’t open his mouth again until the end of this mission.”

Lucas then looked at Lucian Davis, who was already getting up and rubbing his cheeks, and when he noticed the serious look on his superior’s face, he didn’t say a word.
Aniya returned, wearing tight dark leggings and a dark t-shirt so close to her body that all the men gulped almost at the same time, and even the women couldn’t stop looking at her. Aniya approached while stretching her arms and rotating her neck, making her boobs bounce with each movement. Lisa concealed a smile because, as usual, Aniya seemed unaware of all the stares directed at her.
Aniya had tied to her torso a double holster, one for the gun that Lucian Davis gave her, the other carrying the gun she took from the secret compartment in her limousine.
Lucian noticed the other gun and remained silent, signalling everyone to check their weapons and to follow him.

While Aniya was pulling the ear of Lucian Davis, on the country road, Nick Kerrish exited the taxi and paid the driver, who asked, “Are you sure you don’t want me to wait for you? I can go find a quiet place to park where no one will be able to see me.”

“No, it’s better if you leave. Like that, you won’t know a thing if anyone asks you. It’s safer for you and me. I don’t know if something bad will happen, but bringing my girl to such a place so far away from the City for a meeting is too suspicious for my taste, and I don’t want you to be in any kind of danger if something goes wrong.”

“You think the young Miss will be in danger? She is so young and pretty, it would be a shame if something happened to her!”

Nick nodded with a worried look. “That’s why I came. I want to be sure she is not in danger. Her friend and bodyguard are with her, but still… Now go, don’t stick around, go to the City and do your work without worrying. If everything goes well, we will meet again. If not, it was nice to meet you.”

The taxi driver twisted his moustache, wondering if he should stay or not, as Nick entered the forest on the left of the country road to follow Aniya and her companions, and with one last sigh, he made a U-turn and drove to the City.
When the taxi was already out of sight, Nick saw himself surrounded by trees and bushes. He made a slight smile as he took a long sniff and ran in the direction where he knew Aniya would be.
In a matter of minutes, Nick saw the group of six men and two women carefully walking along the path that led to the house they were searching. He hid behind a large pine tree and waited for them to make the next curve of the path so that he could walk in the middle of the trees, bushes, and tall grass without being spotted or heard.
A few metres from where Nick was hiding, Lucas Dalton signalled to his group to hide in the forest on the right side of the path they were walking on, and carefully, they approached the house.
Aniya saw two jeeps parked on the right of the house and some white smoke coming from the chimney of the house, a clear sign that someone was cooking in there.
Lucas Dalton signalled to Aniya, Lisa, and Davis to approach the jeeps and use them as cover, and while Davis could cover the window, Aniya and Lisa could go to the front door and count till thirty before barging in.
Aniya nodded and watched as the Squad went past the jeeps to cover the remaining windows and the back door if there was one. As she counted in silence, Aniya approached the window and crawled on the ground beneath it so that no one inside could see her, followed by Lisa, while Davis crouched near the window, his two guns ready.
Aniya stood against the frame of the door on one side, and Lisa was on the other, looking at her and waiting for the countdown to end. Aniya made a slight smile, and even when she reached zero, she remained still and, with her eyes closed, concentrated on the noise of the voices inside the house and the Squad members around it.
When Aniya heard the back door being kicked, she did the same and entered with her gun ready, pointed at the head of one of the three surprised men seated at the table. The noise of the doors being slammed open attracted a fourth man, who came from the kitchen with a spatula in his right hand.

The man smiled as he saw Lisa, and spoke with a grin, “So we meet again, ginger. How are your parents? Scared to death, I hope?”

A shot echoed inside the house, and Adrian Gordon dropped the spatula as he went with his hand to his shoulder wound, made by Lisa’s smoking gun, and she asked, “Hurts, doesn’t it? It seems my father could not kill you last night, and it puzzles me how you are still alive, but do not worry, I know a wonderful method to end your miserable life.”

Two shots were heard, and Adrian Gordon fell sideways on the ground, screaming, hit on both knees. Lisa pointed the gun at his head next and grinned, “Oh, come on, this won’t kill you, you will heal in no time. There is no silver in these bullets, but it sure looks painful!”

To everyone’s surprise, he laughed. The three men at the table joined in his laughter, and while Lisa was frowning, Adrian Gordon shouted, “You should have used silver, ginger. That at least would slow me down, but normal bullets? Those just tickled me! I will show you something that doesn’t tickle! Don’t worry, it will end quickly!”

He let out a scream, half of anger, half of pain. The three men at the table joined him, and Davis, who was still outside looking through the window, frowned at what was happening inside and rushed through the front door, standing next to Aniya, with his two guns pointed at the men at the table.
To Aniya’s surprise and everyone else’s, the four screaming men contorted and ripped their clothes with inhuman strength. In a split second, claws appeared on their hands and feet, which they used to remove their flesh and to rip apart their Human bodies.
While the two members of the Hunter Squad that barged through the back door froze in their spot, unable to believe what was happening, Aniya took the gun that Lucas Dalton gave her that had silver ammunition and fired against one man that was near the table. The gun didn’t fire, and Lisa, together with Davis, used their guns to fire at the heads of every man that was turning into a Werewolf in front of them.
The three men at the table shook their heads because of the bullets, Lisa pulled her katana from the sheath at her back, and with incredible speed, she jumped forward and sliced the heads of the three Werewolves that were almost turned.
As the heads rolled on the floor, the fourth Werewolf got up. Adrian Gordon, fully turned into a dark brown Werewolf, jumped on Lisa, only to get her katana piercing his chest, and Aniya emptying the barrel of her normal gun on his head at close range, with Davis shooting at the Werewolf’s eyes.
With a growl, the Werewolf jumped back, freeing his body from the katana, and went straight to the window behind him, using his claws to push aside two Hunters that were in his path, almost slicing them in half. He jumped through the window, and the shattering glass hit Lucas Dalton, who was outside the house, covering that window. In a split second, the Werewolf ran into the forest and disappeared.
Aniya went to Ethan Quaid to put pressure on the large wound on his chest to stop the bleeding, while Lisa went to Peter Neylan to check his right arm.

Aniya shouted for Lucas to come, and he rushed through the back door, followed closely behind by Lucian Davis, and they looked pale, as Aniya was shouting, “Call my father! Tell him to grab the first aid kit from my limousine and to use one car and come here! Quick, before your friend here bleeds to death!”

While Lucas Dalton was taking his phone from his pocket and his hands were trembling as he dialled, Lucian Davis kept on mumbling, “Why… How… How they could turn into Werewolves… In broad daylight? That’s impossible… impossible… impossible...”

Lucian fell to his knees, mumbling in a low voice the same words over and over, his eyes blank, his face white. He was going into deep shock, and Aniya shouted to Lucas Dalton when he finished the call, “Slap that guy for me and take him out of that! He is in shock and he will lose it if you don’t make him snap out of it!”
