Boxing
As I carried one of my hands and hit the boxing bag, my hand made a strange noise as I screamed in pain. I looked back at Falcon, who was watching me with an impassive expression.
“THIS IS CRAZY!” I exclaimed, nursing my sore hand.
Falcon raised an eyebrow. “You think that’s crazy? You just hit it once and here you are complaining."
“Why won’t I when this thing is above my power?” I complained again.
Falcon scolded, “Just because of a little pain, you’re acting all immature."
“So what? It is too hard! What is inside this bag that has to come out with a human fist instead of a scissor or blade?!” I snapped.
Falcon looked at me for a second before standing up, he walked towards another boxing bag and faced me, he hit one of his hands on the boxing bag, not tearing his eyes away from me, and at once, all that was inside came rushing out, something white in color.
I opened my mouth in awe at the sight.
Falcon asked, “So, did I use a scissor or blade?”
I looked at him for some moment, trying to put my words together. “But you are stronger than me,” I replied, trying to sound neutral.
Falcon scoffed. “I wasn’t born this way. Ari, I was also a frugal human like you, but ‘practice makes perfect’—that was the word that changed my strength."
“Then why shouldn’t I also practice, since it will make me perfect?” I asked.
Falcon replied, “Well, you are practicing already, so just hit it with all your strength, and I am sure it will burst out. I will leave you now,”
Without waiting for my response, he left.
With a deep breath, I raised both hands and continued striking the bag with all my might.
As Falcon walked through the corridor, he sighted Venom in front of his room door.
As Falcon got to the front of his room, he entered, and Venom also followed; they both sat down on a chair facing each other.
“Any latest news?” Falcon asked.
“Not at all, I just wanted to check up on Ari, but she wasn’t in her room,” Venom replied.
Falcon stared at Venom. “She is still training,”
Venom’s eyes widened. “What?! That was hours ago; how can she still be training?”
Falcon explained, “I am getting her prepared; it’s for her own good.”
Venom said, “But you should have at least taken it easy on her, you making her spend more than three hours may only discourage and hurt her,”
Falcon replied nonchalantly, “Discourage; no, but hurt; yes. She won’t get discouraged because there is nothing that will make her to, and about hurts, that will be a good sign because it will be a mark of a warrior,”
Venom murmured under his breath, “I hope she also sees it that way.”
Falcon added, “She needs to learn how to defend herself in time of trouble, in case anyone of us is not there, and especially when Dragon is still alive, I’m sure he will come back for her,”
Venom asked, “Why didn’t you kill him when you had the chance?”
Falcon smirked. “Because I want him to suffer slowly and painfully before he will finally die; it will be so interesting seeing him suffer still he beg for death, which won’t be given to him until I am satisfied and want him dead, especially when he will still come back for Ari,”
Venom commented, “You are so evil, Fal.”
Falcon grinned. “You aren’t that nice yourself.”
Falcon asked in sarcasm, “How was your visit to the torture room, is Stormy dead?”
Venom replied thoughtfully, “No, she isn’t, but it seems like she is hiding something.”
Falcon wondered, “That’s her problem, I wonder why Lilith hasn’t killed her yet?”
“But that doesn't mean you shouldn't keep an eye on Stormy even if she is in prison, she still has some cunning skills and as for Lilith also keep an eye on her, she is getting a little suspicious,” Falcon ordered.
Venom stood up and bent his head, “Yes boss, I will like to take my leave now,”
Falcon nodded his head, which Venom took as a yes, and he left Falcon’s room.
Back at the training room, I sat on the bare floor tiredly, sweat dropping out of my face little by little, and my hands were red in color.
The boxing bag finally opened after hours of hitting, and it wasn’t an easy one. When it opened some minutes back, it was the white foamy thing that came out of it together with a bottle of water, which I gulped everything down my throat, wanting more.
As I continued laying on the floor, I heard some footsteps, and no one had to tell me that it was Falcon.
I turned back, seeingHere is the continuation of the proofread story:
I turned back, seeing him approach me, and he sat on his knees when he got to my side.
“I knew you could do it; it only takes time,” he teased, and when I didn’t answer, he spoke.
“You can go to your room now, treat up your hands; they are too red,” Falcon said sarcastically as he looked at my hands, which were red in color, as he mentioned earlier.
Falcon said, “Also, take your bath, eat your dinner, and rest, because tomorrow, after breakfast, you will just be starting your training, because the one you did today was just the introduction.”
Although I didn’t respond because I was too tired, but one could easily see the expression of shocked on my face.
What did he mean by “just started”? I asked no one in particular.
“I’ll be leaving now,” I managed to say as I walked out of the training room, happy that he didn’t stop me.
Falcon smiled at himself for some minutes before replacing it with a cold gaze as he walked out of the training room.
I got to my room, feeling so weak and tired, that all that was on my mind was for me to take my bath, eat, and sleep.
As I stood up from my bed, going towards the bathroom, my room door opened, revealing Lina and Hellcat walking in.
When they both saw me, they rushed to my side immediately.
“Ari, what happened to you?” Hellcat asked, touching my forehead.
“You look like a half-dead person; is it because of the training?” Lina added, and I nodded slowly.
“I need to take my bath now,” I told them weakly and, without waiting for a reply, left.
“Wow! Boss must have trained her too hard,” Hellcat said sadly.
“Yeah, I am coming back; I need to get some food for her because I’m sure she will need it,” Lina said.
“I’ll follow you,” Hellcat said, and Lina nodded as they both went out.
After what seemed like forever, I finally came out of the bathroom, although I didn’t want to leave because the water was so warm, and that’s what I needed, but at that moment, my stomach betrayed me by groaning out loudly.
As I reached my main room, I was welcomed with the aroma of delicacies, and Hellcat and Lina were also sitting on my bed with smiles plastered on their faces, ignoring their smile; I went straight to where the food was kept and started devouring the food without even changing my towel.
I can change it later, I thought to myself as I continued eating.
Lina and Hellcat, who were amused at my sudden action, smiled widely.
“She must be really hungry,” Hellcat whispered, which Lina could only hear.
Lina nodded in agreement. “Yeah, I guess the boss was really harsh on her.”
I stood up and walked to my closet and dressed in something light. After, I joined my friends on the bed.
“Thanks for the food,” I appreciated them with a smile.
“It’s nothing; what happened to you today, was it because of the training?” Lina asked, and I nodded.
Hellcat stood up and took the aid box before coming back to the bed and started adding some medication to my hand.
“What kind of training was it that gave you all these bruises?” Hellcat asked as she continued applying the medications.
“More like a punishment,” I thought to myself, and I told them everything.
“Wow! That must have been very hard,” Hellcat said, and I nodded.
“Yes, it was; thanks for coming; I really appreciate it,” I thanked them with a smile.
“Anything for you,” Lina replied.
“Why we actually came was because the boss sent for you,” Hellcat informed me.
I furrowed my eyebrow. “What?!"
