The punishment
"What did you do there?" Falcon asked.
Venom hesitated.
"I just... checked on her because I heard her murmuring," Venom replied.
Falcon's eyes narrowed.
"Is that all?" he pressed.
Venom nodded.
"Yes, that's all."
Falcon's gaze lingered on Venom before speaking.
"You may leave."
Venom turned to leave but stopped.
"Falcon, is everything alright?" Venom asked.
Falcon looked at him briefly before returning to his laptop.
"Yes," he replied coldly.
"Okay then, I'll leave now," Venom said and departed.
Falcon's thoughts turned to Ari. He wondered what Venom had really done in Ari's room and why Ari seemed shaken that morning.
Falcon's eyes narrowed, his mind racing with possibilities.
I continued training, sweating profusely, waiting for Falcon's arrival. It had been over three hours since he left, and it didn't seem like he wouldn't return soon.
After training for another hour and he wasn't back, I dropped the gun on the table before sitting on a bench with a bottle of cold water.
After resting for some minutes, I decided to leave the training room because it was getting towards evening. As I wanted to walk through the door, I saw Falcon at a distance and watched how he came in front of me.
"Leaving already?" Falcon asked in sarcasm.
I nodded.
"Yes, I can't keep on waiting forever, and besides, where did you go?" I asked with a questionable look on my face.
"It's none of your business!" Falcon snapped. Although he was a little bit angry that I lied to him.
"Go freshen up and when you're done, meet me at the gym. You only have twenty minutes for that," Falcon told me, and wanted to leave but he stopped after I called his name.
"I don't know where the gym is," I said.
Falcon looked surprised.
What has she been doing since all this while she's been here? Falcon questioned inwardly.
"I will send Lina for directions and she can also keep you accompanied for the meantime," Falcon replied and without waiting for me to talk or ask questions, he left.
I sighed sadly before I started walking to my suites. As I walked to my suites, I couldn't drop the feeling of why Falcon was distant.
Is he angry with me? I thought to myself.
Getting to my suites, I took my bath, changed my clothes and packed my hair in a ponytail.
When I was done dressing, a knock was heard on the door and it opened revealing Lina.
"Lina, I didn't know you will come this early. I haven't eaten." I told her.
Lina nodded.
"Yes, I know, we will visit for dinner before going to the gym," Lina said.
"Okay, thanks," I appreciated, smiling.
"You're welcome, let's go," She stretched out her hand for me and I held her, as we both left the room.
When we got to the dining table, some of the clan members were there, but they weren't much like the morning time because some of them had gone for one mission or the other.
I settled down with Lina and the others after greeting them.
"I'm really happy that you guys didn't go for any mission today, I will spend more time with you guys in the evening," I told them, eating.
"I know right, I'm also happy we are here," Hellcat said.
"I agree with Hellcat, so which time should we meet up in the evening?" Blaze asked.
"I'm not sure, because I don't know when Falcon will dismiss me today, but I'll try to come early. So let's just say by 7pm." I replied and they all agreed.
"Which place should we meet?" Klein asked.
"Why are you asking? Do you want us to meet in your suites?" Landon teased.
Klein glared at him.
"Keep shut man," and as Landon lifted his lips to talk, Lina spoke.
"That shouldn't cause an argument between you guys," Lina warned.
"Let's meet at my suites," I added and they nodded in agreement, we continued gisting, talking about a lot of things.
After we were done, Lina and I walked to the gym as we talked. When we reached the door we both wished ourselves goodbye before going our separate ways.
I entered the gym staring everywhere, the gym was quite unique and I kinda liked the style. Although it looks like other gyms, but it was quite different.
I continued walking everywhere looking for the sight of Falcon but he was nowhere to be found.
After some time, I sat down waiting for Falcon because I thought he wasn't in the gym. As I continued waiting for him, I heard the echo of a shoe walking towards me.
I looked back to see Falcon staring at me coldly, and before I could part my lips, he slapped me hard on my cheek.
I looked at him with surprise. This was the first time he had slapped me when I did nothing.
"Why did you do that?" I asked him with a frown on my face as I massaged my skin, and before I knew what was happening, another hot slap landed on my face, making me land on the floor hardly.
"Ahh!" I cried in pain.
What is wrong with him? I thought, and as if he read my thoughts, he spoke.
"You wanna know why l did that? It is because I hate lies, and most especially hearing it from the people I care for and trust, gets me really off!" Falcon yelled angrily.
I was quite surprised when he said he cared about me and trusted me, but the misery I still tried to find was why he slapped me.
"Why did you slap? Because I don't remember ever lying to you?" I yelled back at him.
"Wow! You have such a small brain. Follow me!" He snapped and without waiting for me, he walked out of the gym; I forced myself to stand up gently because the slap he gave me broke my lips, which made it bleed, as I also followed him.
Falcon entered his room, which got me a little surprised, but I couldn't do or say anything as I continued following him, entering through his door.
I looked everywhere as my feet stepped into his inner room; it was quite different from the time I used to serve him.
Falcon opened a door in his room and walked inside; I was surprised when I saw him entering further into his suites because this was the first time I would be seeing this private lodge of his.
As I entered inside, the surrounding were looking weird. At first, I thought it was a hall, but when I stared further, I noticed it looked somehow like a football field. Some minutes later, the roof above us started getting separated from each other, and this brought light into the field.
I was quite amused. Although I could see the cloud, it was covered with a transparent shield.
Falcon called my name, and I looked back at him. He was wearing a helmet and holding a baseball stick with a small ball.
He told me to stay in front of the net.
“When I throw this ball towards you, it must not enter the net, meaning that you must catch it and give it back to me," he told me, and I nodded, but I was still wondering why he had to bring me here instead of his clan members.
Or maybe it is part of the training, I said inwardly.
I stood in front of the net, waiting for his attack, and at once, he threw the small ball towards me, and I caught it; I was somehow relieved.
I walked towards him and handed him the ball, and before I could get back to the net, he threw the ball at me again, although I wasn't ready for that attack, I still managed to catch it.
As I was going towards him to give him the ball, he threw another ball at my face, and it hit me hard, which made me froze.
"Why are you standing? Get me the ball!" He snapped at me coldly, and as I walked up to give him the ball, he threw another one at my face, and another, sending me straight to the floor, and before I knew it, I started bleeding.
"Falcon?" I called his name with surprise as my gaze shifted towards him.
"You shouldn't have lied to me; get me the ball!" He yelled and I immediately stood up, picking up the ball that was on the floor.
As I looked back up to start walking, another one landed on my face, getting me to wince in pain.
That was when it occurred to me that it wasn't a practice but a punishment for lying to him, which I didn't seem to remember.
"Falcon, I'm sorry; what the hell did I lie about?" I asked him after another ball landed on my face.
"You should have told me Venom was in your room last night; Why did you have to lie about that!” He yelled again.
What? I asked inwardly.
Another ball landed on my face, making me bleed from my nose heavily.
"Falcon, I'm sorry I didn't tell you; I just thought it wasn't anything to worry about," I replied, even though it was quite painful because of my bleeding nose.
"Even after I asked you more than once, Ari, you should have told me the truth!" He yelled and threw two more balls at my face, sending me back to the floor hardly.
"I'm sorry, please stop; he just came because I was having nightmares," I begged, tears flowing from my eyes heavily.
"You should have told me when l asked!" He thundered, shaking the whole building, and he threw five balls at my face at once, making me lose consciousness.
