Alaric said, "But I'm willing to bet that your daughter Vickie has," Mr. Bennett. "We may talk about it at our next session together. We'll have a conversation about it tomorrow; it can certainly wait until then. At this moment, I believe it would be best for me to take Katherine to a hospital. Some of the males were showing signs of discomfort by moving in their seats.
Mr. Smallwood opened his statement by saying, "Oh, yes, and while we're waiting anything may happen." "At any moment, at any location-"
"Are you saying that you're simply going to break the law on your own?" Alaric said. His tone became more agitated. "Regardless of whether or not you've got the appropriate suspect. Where is the proof that demonstrates this youngster have superhuman abilities? Where is your evidence? What kind of a struggle did he even attempt to put up?
Mr. Smallwood, whose face was flushed with anger, said, "There's a wolf around there that put up plenty of fight." It's possible that they're in it together.
"There is not a single wolf in sight. I spotted a dog. It may have been one of the dogs who evaded the quarantine. However, what does it have to do with the subject at hand? I'm telling you this because, from a purely professional standpoint, I believe you've hired the wrong guy.
The guys were hesitating, but their expressions revealed that they still had some reservations. Merit spoke up.
She told him, "I believe you should know that there have been instances in the past when vampires have attacked people in this county." "A very long time before Katherine arrived at this location. My granddad was one of the unfortunate ones. It's possible that some of you are familiar with it." She turned her gaze to Caroline on the other side.
That was the last word on the matter. Elizabeth was able to see the guys as they gave each other unpleasant looks and retreated toward their vehicles. Suddenly, it appeared like everyone was anxious to go to another location.
One of the people who lingered behind was Mr. Smallwood, and he stated to Mr. Saltzman, "You said we'd speak about this tomorrow. When my kid is hypnotized again, I want to be there to hear what he has to say.
After retrieving his daughter, Caroline's father hurriedly got into his vehicle and muttered something about how everything was only a mistake and that people shouldn't take it too seriously.

"Are you feeling okay? " Did they cause you any pain?
He disengaged himself from Alaric's sustaining arm and went away. "While I was having a conversation with Caroline, someone struck me from behind. I'll be OK from here on out." He cast a quick look in Alaric's direction. "Thanks. Why?"
Denis, who had just joined them, added, "He's on our side." "As I was saying... Oh, Katherine, I hope you're feeling well soon. There for a little moment, I really considered that I was going to pass out. They weren't serious about it at all. I mean, they couldn't possibly have been serious about it, could they?
Merit said, "Whether or not this is a serious threat, I do not believe that we should remain here." "Does Katherine really need the services of a hospital?"
Katherine responded with a no as Elizabeth carefully checked the wound on her husband's head. "I simply need rest. A spot for me to have a seat"
"I've got my keys. "Alright, let's go on over to the history room," suggested Alaric.
Denis was examining the darkness with apprehension as he looked about. She said, "The wolf, too?" before jumping back in surprise as Dominic materialized out of thin air out of the darkness.
He responded by asking, "What wolf?" Katherine made a little turn while grimacing.
He did not show any signs of emotion as he only said, "Thank you." But Katherine's eyes continued to linger on his brother with a look that might be described as something between confusion and concern as they headed to the school building.
Elizabeth intervened and took him aside in the corridor. "Katherine, how come you didn't see that they were approaching from behind you? How come you were such a wimp?
Katherine gave an evasive shake of the head, and then she continued, "When did you feed yourself last? When is it, Katherine? You never fail to provide an explanation whenever I'm around. What are you attempting to do to yourself, exactly?
"Don't worry about me," he assured her. "In all seriousness, Elizabeth. I'll search afterwards." "Do you promise?"
"I promise."
Elizabeth was so focused on the conversation that she had completely forgotten that they hadn't settled on a definition for "later." She followed him down the corridor as he instructed her to do so.
Elizabeth noticed a change in appearance when she visited the history room in the evening. It seemed as though the lights were turned up too high, which contributed to the eerie vibe that pervaded the area. Just now, all of the desks belonging to the pupils were moved out of the way, and five chairs were brought over to sit in front of Alaric's desk. After Alaric had done arranging the furnishings, he beckoned Katherine to join him in the soft chair that he had just set up.
"All right, I'm going to ask the rest of you to please take a seat."
They merely gazed at him. After a little while, Denis sat down on a chair, while Elizabeth remained standing beside Katherine. Dominic continued to relax in the middle distance between the group and the door.
door, Merit moved some papers to the middle of Alaric's desk, and then she placed herself on the corner of the desk.

"Well," replied Elizabeth.
Everyone glanced at everyone other. Elizabeth reached inside the first-aid kit that she had collected at the entrance and pulled out a piece of cotton. She then started rubbing Katherine's head with the cotton.
She spoke those words before adding, "I believe it's time for that explanation."
"Right. Yes. It seems that everyone has already concluded that I do not work in the field of history education...
Katherine said, "during the first five minutes." Elizabeth was startled when she had the sudden realization that the man's voice, which was soft yet menacing, was reminiscent of Dominic's. "And you are what exactly?"
Alaric made a motion of contrition and murmured, "A psychologist," in a tone that was almost uncertain. Not the sort with cushions," he immediately clarified as the others exchanged glances with one another. "I have a background in research and I work in experimental psychology. From Duke University. You are aware of the location where the first ESP studies were conducted.
"Are you talking about the ones where you have to guess what's on the card without looking at it?" Denis asked.
"Yes, well, obviously it has progressed quite a bit beyond that at this point. It's not that I wouldn't like putting you through a test with Rhine cards—especially while you're in one of those trances—but I just don't think you'd pass. The expression of scientific curiosity spread on Alaric's face. After that, he swallowed some saliva and continued speaking. "But-ah-as I was saying. When I was in college, one of my classes was in parapsychology, and I had to write a paper on the subject. I wasn't aiming to disprove the existence of supernatural talents; rather, I was interested in researching the psychological impact these abilities have on those who had them. The situation with Denis illustrates the concept well." The tone of Alaric's voice changed, becoming more authoritative. "What kind of mental and emotional toll does it take on her to have to cope with the consequences of her powers?"
Denis spoke out angrily, "It's terrible!" in response to the interruption. "I have no use for them any more. "I despise them."
"Well, I guess that proves it," answered Alaric. "You'd have made a terrific case study. My issue was that I was unable to locate somebody who really has psychic abilities so that I could test them. There were many impostors there, including crystal healers, dowsers, channelers, and almost every other kind imaginable. But I was unable to locate anything authentic until I was given a hint by a buddy who works for the police department.
"Down in South Carolina, there was a lady who said she'd been bitten by a vampire, and ever since then, she's been suffering telepathic nightmares. She said that this was the cause of her condition. At that point, I was so accustomed to being fooled that I anticipated that she would also turn out to be a con. On the other hand, she was not, at least not about the possibility of getting bitten. I was never able to provide any evidence that she was indeed psychic.
"How could you possibly know for certain that she had been bitten?" Elizabeth enquired about it.
"There was proof from the medical field. There were remnants of saliva in her wounds, and although they resembled human saliva, they were not exactly the same. It included an anticoagulant that was similar to the substance that may be found in the saliva of leeches... Alaric quickly recovered and continued on his way.
