In the course of their chat, Katherine said, "I'm going to murder you now." "If you don't stop me, I'll murder all of your pals while I'm submerged in the river. I don't believe the dogs have completed the task as of yet. On the other hand, I'll see to it on my own."
"Give Elizabeth her freedom," Katherine said. Even though it was muffled, his voice remained enticing all the same. Katherine, completely disregarding him, said, "I haven't decided how to do it." "You may be skewered by me.
There is only a little bit more light left for it now. And I have them in my possession." She exposed her hand by reaching down the front of her gown and pulling it out to her side. She counted aloud, "One-two-three," before hurling three rings—two silver and one gold—towards the earth. Their stones glowed a brilliant blue, much like Katherine's eyes and the stone on the necklace that was around Katherine's neck.

She felt the silky bareness of her ring finger as Elizabeth's hands began to furiously curl around one another. It was authentic. She couldn't believe how exposed and vulnerable she felt when she wasn't wearing that circlet of metal. It was essential to her existence, essential to her ability to survive. If not for it-

Katherine remarked this as she casually scuffed the rings with the toe of one foot and then continued, "Without them, you'll die." "However, I'm not sure whether that's a slow enough pace." She moved her way nearly all the way back to the other wall of the tomb as the weak light cast a glittering effect on the silver outfit she wore.

At that same moment, Elizabeth had the inspiration for the project.

She had the ability to move her hands. enough for them to be able to feel one another and enough for them to realize that they were no longer numb. The ropes were less tightly wound.

But Katherine had a lot of strength. Incredible in its level of power. And she is also quicker than Elizabeth. Even if Elizabeth managed to get away, she would only have the opportunity to perform a single skit.

She rotated one wrist and could feel some give in the ropes.

Katherine remarked that there were alternative routes available. "I could slash you and enjoy seeing your blood spurt forth. I enjoy watching."

Elizabeth clenched her teeth and applied pressure to the rope while maintaining her grip. Even though her hand was twisted into an agonizing position, she continued to apply pressure. She experienced the sting of the rope sliding away from her grasp.

"Or rats," Katherine was adding with some thought in her voice. "Rodents may be entertaining. I was able to instruct them when to begin and when to conclude."

Having the other hand available to work made things much simpler. Elizabeth made a conscious effort to conceal the fact that anything was occurring behind her back. She wished she could have telepathically communicated with Katherine, but she was too afraid to try. Not if there was even a remote possibility that Katherine may overhear.

On the ground was a rectangle of light that was gray in color. The brightness of dawn It was entering the crypt via the gap in the lid. Katherine was no stranger to being exposed to such light. But...

Katherine broke into a grin, and her beautiful blue eyes sparkled. "I know! I'll get you nearly completely drunk and then make you watch while I murder her. I'll give you just enough strength so that you can see her passing away before it's your turn to go. Doesn't it seem like a workable strategy to you?" She clapped her hands in a blithe manner and then repeated her pirouette as she was dancing away.

Elizabeth reasoned that there was only one more step to go. She watched as Katherine made her way towards the bright rectangle. Only one more stage to go...

Katherine went forward and did it. "Well, that settles it!" She made the first move to turn around. "What a fantastic-"

Now!

Elizabeth rushed her as she struggled to free her tense arms from the last loops of rope. It was exciting, like the rush of a cat on the prowl. One last, frantic dash in order to catch the victim. One opportunity. One ray of light

Katherine was the recipient of the brunt of her attacker's force. They were both thrown into the rectangle of light as a result of the crash. The impact of Katherine's skull jarring into the stone floor was felt by her.

She then experienced the excruciating anguish, as if her own body had been submerged in a toxic solution. It was a sensation quite similar to the searing dryness brought on by hunger, but much more intense. A factor of one thousand times more powerful. It was really intolerable.

"Elizabeth!" Katherine shrieked, both in her head and with her voice.

Katherine, the notion occurred to her. Katherine's eyes slowly focused as a burst of power erupted from underneath her. Her lips became contorted with wrath, and she began to bare her fangs. Because they were so lengthy, they caused a cut on the bottom lip. That twisted lips erupted in a roar as it opened.

Elizabeth's clumsy fingers groped about at Katherine's neck as she attempted to grab her throat. Her fingertips curled around the cold metal of the blue necklace that Katherine wore. She wrangled the chain with all of her effort, and she could feel it giving way. She attempted to grasp it, but her fingers seemed thick and clumsy, and Katherine's clawed hand frantically scrabbled at it in an attempt to get a hold of it. It whirled out into the darkness and disappeared.

"Elizabeth!" Once again, Katherine's horrifying voice was heard on the phone.

She had the impression that light was flooding through her whole body. As though she were completely see-through. Only the brightness caused suffering. Katherine's twisted face, which was below her, was fixedly staring upward into the icy winter sky. It sounded more like a screeching that was becoming louder and louder as time went on.

Elizabeth made an effort to pull herself up, but she just lacked the ability to do so. The skin on Katherine's face was splitting and breaking apart. It became the target of many lines of fire. The level of yelling increased dramatically. Katherine's hair was on fire, and her skin was beginning to turn black. Elizabeth sensed flames coming from both the ground and the sky. both in the upper and lower regions.
