Katherine took a few steps back while laughing audibly. "I know, it's such a tough decision," the speaker said. Elizabeth became aware, as the woman performed a little pirouette, that what she had just dimly recognized as the train of Katherine's dress was really Katherine's hair. It poured like molten gold down her back and spilled over the floor behind her as she walked. It seemed like it was trailing after her.
Katherine added, "It all depends on your taste," as she did a few exquisite dance steps and ended up in front of Dominic. "It all depends on your taste," She sent a mischievous glance in Elizabeth's direction. "But on the other hand, I have such a need for sweets." She grabbed Dominic by the hair and lifted his head so that she could sink her fangs into his neck. She then released his head.
"No! Don't do that; there's no need to continue hurting him..." Elizabeth made an effort to push through the ties, but she was unable to go further. The gate was made of strong iron and was set in stone; also, the ropes were of good quality. Dominic groaned even when he was asleep, while Katherine made animal noises as she gnawed and chewed at the flesh, and Dominic also moaned. Elizabeth saw his body convulsing in response to the excruciating agony.
"Oh, please stop; please stop right now!"
Katherine sat up and raised her head. She had a trickle of blood trickling down her chin. She said, "But I'm starving, and he's so delicious!" Dominic's body convulsed as she sprang at him again and delivered another blow. Elizabeth let out a scream.
She had the impression that I was like that. The was how I was in the beginning, on that very first night when we were in the woods. I inflicted such pain on Katherine, and I was so close to killing him...
She was engulfed in darkness, and she gladly gave in to it as it around her.
As Alaric's vehicle approached the school, it skidded on a patch of ice, and Merit came dangerously close to colliding with it. Both she and Matt quickly exited her vehicle, but they did not close the doors behind them. The same thing was done by Alaric and Denis up ahead.
"What about the rest of the town?" "What about it all?" Merit yelled as she approached them while jogging. As the wind picked up, the ice on her face caused her to shiver.
Denis sobbed when he stated the names of Elizabeth's relatives: Aunt Judith and Margaret. Her tone was high-pitched and terrified, yet her eyes betrayed a focused determination throughout the whole exchange. She cocked her head to the side as if attempting to recall something, and then she remarked, "That sums it up well. The dogs will also go for them since they are the other ones. Insist that they go someplace, like the basement.
Keep them in that spot!" "I'll do it. It's up to you three to lead the dance!" Denis changed direction and began to chase after Alaric. Merit sped off in the direction of her vehicle.

"Get back in there! Everyone must get inside, and then the doors must be locked! "He roared at the policemen of the sheriff's department.
However, there was not enough time. He arrived in the cafeteria at the exact same time as the first form that had been lurking in the shadows. One law enforcement officer was killed instantly, with no warning or opportunity to fire his weapon.
The sound of the subsequent one, which was magnified by the concrete patio, could be heard throughout the building. Students yelled and immediately started to flee the area, heading towards the parking lot as they did so. Alaric chased after them while shouting at them in an effort to get them to turn around.
Other forms emerged from the shadows, moving between the parked vehicles and approaching from all directions.
Panic ensued. Alaric did not stop yelling, and he did not stop attempting to herd the scared pupils inside the building. They were an easy target out in this wilderness.
Denis walked into the courtyard and turned to face Matt. "There ought to be fire!" she said. Matt sprinted inside the cafeteria and emerged a moment later carrying a box that was only about halfway full with dance programs. He hurled it to the ground and fumbled about in his pockets, looking for one of the matches that they had previously used to light the candle.
The paper caught fire and burnt fiercely after it was ignited. It created a secluded haven for protection. Matt kept waving people in the direction of the cafeteria doors behind the door as it closed. Denis went inside, where he saw a scene that was as as chaotic as the one outside.
She glanced all around for an adult who may be in charge, but all she could see were children who were freaking out. The red and green crepe paper decorations are what first drew her attention to the room.
The noise was so loud that not even a yell could be heard inside this building. She made it to the other side of the room by pushing her way through the crowd of people who were also attempting to leave. Caroline was there, donning the tiara of the winter queen despite being pasty due to the absence of her summer tan.
Denis dragged her over to the microphone and began speaking.
"You're excellent at chatting. Tell them to come in and to remain in the house! Tell them to begin taking the decorations down immediately. We need anything that will burn, whether it be trash can contents, wood furniture, or anything else. Tell them that this is the only opportunity we have!" She continued by saying, "You've got the crown on now—so do something with it!" while Caroline gazed at her, terrified and unable to fathom what was going on.
She did not wait to see whether Caroline would comply before acting. She immediately dove back into the chaos that had taken over the room. A little while later, she was able to make out Caroline's voice over the loudspeakers; it was at first uncertain and then frantic.
When Elizabeth finally opened her eyes again, there was not a sound to be heard. When Elizabeth finally opened her eyes again, there was not a sound to be heard.
When she attempted to concentrate on the harsh murmur, she found herself staring into a pair of emerald eyes that were filled with agony.
"Katherine," she referred to the name. She leaned toward him wistfully, wishing she had the ability to pull away from him. It was illogical, but she had the impression that if they could only hug each other, the situation wouldn't be quite as horrible.
There was an innocent guffaw heard. Katherine was the one who turned to face it instead of Elizabeth. Elizabeth saw his response and the series of emotions that ran over his face almost too swiftly for her to decipher them all. Shock, disbelief, the beginnings of delight, and finally dread all rolled into one. A dreadful experience that ultimately rendered his eyes opaque and blind.
