Chapter 19

During dinner, Grandpa scolded Kenneth for not visiting him for years. I buried my head and secretly enjoyed listening to him being scolded.
"Grandpa, a man's career is the most important."
"Kenneth works hard outside to earn money and support the family." I added in speaking well of him. My family highly appreciated me.
"Only Grace has such a good temperament. Any other young lady in her position wouldn't be able to endure this."
"Yes, Grace is knowledgeable and reasonable, coming home every day to accompany the elderly, family, unlike Kenneth..."
Throughout the whole time, Kenneth kept his lips slightly curved. I suspected that he didn't actually listen. Because he was watching me closely for any slight movement. When I wanted to pick up the spaghetti, he would roll it up with a fork and place it next to me. When I wanted to eat the lobster meat, he would meticulously peel it and put it into my bowl. When I wanted to wipe my mouth, he had already handed me a napkin. Until...
"No wonder there are no signs of Grace being pregnant even after three months of marriage. If a person doesn't come home, how can there be any signs?"
Finally, Kenneth's expression changed slightly.
"We've only been married for three months. Don't rush us," he sighed helplessly.
However, Dolly, who was happily eating, suddenly said, "Mom, you said you can only kiss friends on the cheek, but I saw Aunt and Uncle kissing each other just now."
I almost choked on the food I had just eaten. All the eyes at the table were staring at me and Kenneth. The atmosphere became extremely awkward. I secretly looked at Kenneth, but he remained calm and only smiled helplessly.
"Kids, don't talk nonsense. Eat your food," the adults quickly stopped her.
"I'm not making it up. Aunt even sat on Uncle's lap, and Uncle..." Dolly stopped herself just in time.
My face turned red from embarrassment. This is terrible.
"Well, it's understandable for newlyweds," everyone tried to ease the awkwardness for us.
I felt even more embarrassed. I kept my head down and ate my food. Suddenly, my phone rang.
Kenneth: "Don't eat cilantro."
Me: "What?"
Kenneth: "I don't like the taste."
Me: "What's it to me?"
Kenneth: "If you want to come to my room tonight, then don't eat it."
Me: "Seriously?"
He really is inexplicable.
But I won't listen. Cilantro is my love. Who cares about going into his room? I deliberately picked up a lot of cilantro, but he took it all and walked away.
"You!" I glared at him.
Not wanting to argue with him in front of my family, I could only maintain a smile and endure it.
