Canvas
Levi, who was originally just silent and observing for three minutes, now started moving his brush as if painting something on the canvas in front of me.
"C-could it be possible that he painted me? It's impossible for me to be the model for a painting by a great painter like him? What dream did I have last night?" I thought. My chest heaved, I couldn't hold back the smile that spread across my face.
"Stop smiling weirdly like that! You disgust me, stalker!" He said.
As he wished, I immediately stopped smiling. I thought that I just misheard, what he said just now really shocked me.
"I-I'm sorry-" I froze, frozen in my place. From initially feeling happy because I thought that I would be used as a painting model, in an instant I felt like I was falling with just one sentence.
The atmosphere became very quiet, the only thing that could be heard was the sound of the wind blowing and birds chirping. This silence somehow makes me feel even more afraid.
Levi pulled out his brush and glanced at me, who was frozen stiff for a glance. This strange man realized that he had just made one of his students feel very afraid of him.
"Seems like you're very easy to shut up with just words, huh?"
"Huh? W-what? I-I just-" I stammered. My eyes started to get wet and I felt confused.
Levi took a deep breath and exhaled slowly, he tidied up his painting tools as if he wanted to end his activity.
"I'm done with my business! I'll be leaving soon. You too, better go back to your house because it's going to be dark and rainy soon!"
"O-okay, I'll-"
"Listen! Forget what I said earlier. I didn't mean it, except for the stalking part!" He said flatly without emotion.
I was silent, my mouth open. I didn't understand what he actually said, but one thing I understood was that this strange, stiff and cold man meant to joke and was just scaring me.
"Is he kidding?" I thought. I swallowed hard.
"D-did you paint me, sir?" I asked. I'm quite curious about this one. Remembering that Mr. Levi acted as if he wanted to be the object of my painting.
"Yeah, do you mind?"
"N-no, I was just a little curious. Because I thought you wanted to paint me earlier."
"I'll finish it! When it's finished, you can take a look if you want!"
"Huh? Really? Are you serious, sir?" I asked. Just like before, this time I didn't know whether this man was serious or just joking.
Hearing my question full of disbelief made Levi do nothing but look at me.
"Go home!" He said before he finally walked away with all the painting equipment in his hand.
Levi brought his canvas leaving me just silent in my place with so many questions in my head.
"Is he serious? He really painted me? But, he is Levi William Stanley, a talented young painter whose work has been entered into famous art galleries around the world. Is this serious?"
A big smile spread across my lips, I couldn't contain my excitement. Even though for a few moments the strange and cold lecturer scared me with the way he looked at me, it cannot be denied that right now I really feel happy.
I had completely gotten over my annoyance at Kerry once again bringing her boyfriend into the bedroom they shared. Really, that was outrageous and made me angry. But a timid girl like me doesn't have enough courage to express my true feelings.
After making up my mind, I returned to my room. My eyes glanced at the clock on my hand which showed 5.45 in the afternoon. It's been over an hour since I left them and I'm sure that they should have ended their intimate session and stopped thinking that they could continue for however long they wanted.
In front of me, the bedroom door that was ready to be knocked was waiting for me. Suddenly I felt a strange vibration in my body, I didn't want to hear those sickening sounds again from behind the door.
"Okay, I have to go in now! Don't expect them to continue!" I muttered with my hand ready to knock.
However, just before I knocked on the door, it opened, revealing Kerry's grinning face.
"You're back, aren't you?" Kerry greeted me with a happy smile as if nothing had happened.
My eyes widened, but only for an instant, I immediately stopped it. Not without reason, the reddish scar on Kerry's neck caught my attention.
The scar is strange and it seems like this morning it wasn't there yet. I swallowed hard, even though Kerry's wound looked quite obvious, it was impossible to question or discuss it.
I averted my eyes and decided to step into the room and ignore what was happening to Kerry. My attention was drawn to my bed which looked neat, exactly the same as when I last left my room this morning.
"Is there any problem?" Kerry asked. He immediately approached me with a strange smile, making me feel uncomfortable.
"No, it's okay! I'm going to take a shower first!"
