The Plan

"It looks like you guys are planning something, don't you want to ask me to join in your plans?"

"Plan? David just invited me to-"

"I just asked Soraya to be my partner for next week's group assignment. That's all!" David said. Hearing David's answer, I immediately looked at him confused, I didn't know that David intended to hide his plans to go to the cinema.

Because David had given an answer, I, who was confused, immediately fell silent with my head bowed. I almost told Kimberly the thing that David wanted to keep a secret.

"Group assignment, huh? That's right! But I thought you were planning to spend the weekend together. Or maybe I heard wrong, huh?"

"Yes, it seems you heard wrong! OK, I'll excuse myself. See you later?" David said as he walked away leaving the two young girls who were in awkwardness. Especially me, who was still looking down in shame at the lies David told.

"Soraya, what are you doing? Let's go to class!"

I'm busy tidying up the books on my desk, while today's course has finished. Since morning and the conversation with Kimberly ended, for some reason I continued to feel a strange atmosphere.

As if someone was watching, as if someone was paying attention. Without needing to find out, I could guess that this unpleasant atmosphere came from Kimberly who was constantly observing me.

I knew what I had to do or rather, what Kimberly had to do because all this awkwardness came from her.

Kimberly got up from her place and immediately approached me who still hadn't moved. Kimberly still seems curious about what David and I discussed this morning.

"I know you've been watching me, can you tell me what you want?" Even though my question seemed serious, Kimberly knew that I was trying to hold back my smile.

"Aren't you curious?" I asked. I didn't mind telling Kimberly about my plans to go to the movies with David. However, remembering that David seemed to want to keep it a secret put me in a difficult position.

"Okay, I'll tell you. David invited me to see a film this Saturday at the cinema!"

"Really? He asked you out?"

"No, we're not dating! Just watching a movie together. We just happened to have a movie we wanted to watch."

"Is that so? Damn it, why don't you invite me too?" he asked disappointed.

"To be honest, I don't mind, but you can ask David whether you can come or not!"

David, who was passing in front of them, was immediately stopped by a curious Kimberly. Kimberly stood in front of him and blocked him.

"Wait a minute! I need an explanation from you!" Kimberly said while putting her hands on her hips.

"Explanation? What do you mean, Kim?" David asked. He frowned.

"Why didn't you invite me too? Why just Soraya?" Kimberly asked annoyed.

"Huh? What did you say?"

"You asked Soraya to watch a film together and kept it a secret from me! You're really going too far, David!"

"What? Watching a movie?" Kimberly's question surprised David. His eyes immediately fell on me who was still sitting in my place and wearing an awkward smile.

David was silent for a moment, then sighed. He looked a little disappointed and he tried to hide it.

"Okay, you can come too! Invite James and Diana too if you want!" He said as he walked away.

Seeing David's disappointed reaction made me feel guilty. I didn't think that David just wanted to go alone with me. In front of him, Kimberly looked more annoyed than happy after David let her participate.

"Tch, why do you have to keep everything a secret just to watch a movie?"

"Hmm...that-"

"It's okay, Soraya! You don't need to feel guilty. Actually, I was just curious what you were hiding. I didn't seriously remember coming along!"

"R-really?"

"Yes! I'm a very curious person, since I was little I've always been like this. OK, Diana said earlier that she was waiting for us in the canteen. Let's go!"

In a dark and quiet dorm room, a man sat in front of a brightly lit computer. His hand was busy moving the mouse cursor, while his eyes were focused on the screen in front of him.

The man chuckled, his laughter sounded like the sound of a mouse squeaking in a dirty place, just like the place where he was.

It was dark, the only source of light came from his computer screen. Meanwhile the incandescent lamp hanging in the sky was very dim. Not to mention the damp and rotten atmosphere of this room shows clearly what kind of human lives in it.

Used fast food boxes, wrappers and crumbs of potato chips and a moldy donut were scattered on the floor. Meanwhile, the people in this room are still looking at the computer screen without moving an inch.

"Tch, you damn bastard! How could a disgusting bastard like you roam free in this world. What were those bastards thinking when they let you go free? Just watch! I'll reveal who you really are!"

The cell phone on the table rang, the man gasped and reluctantly grabbed the cell phone and put it to his ear.

"Yeah Joe? What's wrong? I'm busy right now!"

"I've found what you asked for. Can you give me the money now?"

"Tch, fine. But send it to me, let me see it before I give you the money!"

"Ok, fine! I'll go to your place now!"

This man immediately ended the call. His face looked annoyed. His eyes returned to the monitor screen in front of him. He smiled seeing how his efforts were starting to bear fruit.
