Satire War
"If you ask if we have anything important, the answer is not really! I'm not sure it's important, but Diana seems to have a different opinion."
"Is it true?"
"Yes, that's it! But Kim, didn't you seem very interested in this a few minutes ago? So, why are you still here?" Diana asked. For some reason, he has the most important sentiments towards a friend who he finds quite annoying like Kimberly.
"If you asked me what I was up to, didn't I already tell you, huh? Miss gossiper!" Kimberly said. This time the target of his sharp mouth was Diana.
"What did you say? Gossiper? You really can't be left alone, can you? Just go to your own devices!"
"Just as you please? Aren't you the one who really wants to gossip here?"
"Hey you two, never mind! Everyone is paying attention to you!" I said. I tried to warn Diana and Kimberly about the consequences of their stupid fight.
Hearing my reprimand, Diana and Kimberly fell silent with sour faces. But their eyes couldn't leave one of them. I sighed, laughing a little, I closed his sketchbook tightly, which had become a sacred object that was very important to me. Even though I tried to keep them away from the book full of secrets, Diana and Kimberly still seemed curious.
"Okay, if you two are calmer, I think I will listen to your explanation."
"What explanation?" Kimberly asked. Either because she forgot or pretended to be stupid, Kimberly asked a question that annoyed me and Diana.
"I thought you guys wanted to talk about something!"
"Tch, this idiot! Alright, I'll explain!" Diana said while cursing in annoyance.
"Who do you mean stupid?" Kimberly asked in protest.
"Of course you are! Aren't you not interested? Why don't you just go?"
"I want to hear how you explain it to him. I'm sure you will exaggerate the story!" Kimberly said in a tone that made Diana's anger rise even more.
"This bastard-"
"Diana, never mind! OK, if you want to talk, just say it! I'll listen. But please don't fight anymore!" I asked.
"Okay, like this. Have you opened the website listed on the art faculty student group? The link sent by an unknown person at 9.13 last night? Have you opened that site?"
"Website? What website? I don't know!" I said innocently.
"You joined the art faculty student social media group, right?" Diana began to doubt, seeing how empty my eyes looked which showed that she didn't know anything.
"Group? What group?"
"S-so you're not joining the group? Oh my gosh, Soraya, are you serious?" Diana felt very shocked and my reaction seemed very exaggerated. Beside me, Kimberly laughed loudly at this ridiculousness.
"Hahahaha... my goodness, how is that possible? Have you seen Diana? How could Soraya know what the fuss was about when she didn't join the group?" Kimberly said sarcastically with a very loud and annoying laugh.
Rather than being angry at Kimberly's insults, Diana was more shocked by the innocence of the young girl in front of her who gave her an innocent look full of questions.
"What are you actually talking about? I don't have social media. My parents forbid me from having a social media account."
"Really? Why did your parents forbid you?"
"My parents just don't want me hanging out with weird people on the internet. My mother said there are so many criminal cases that occur using social media, because of that-"
"Wait a minute! Just because your parents forbid you from having social media, you really don't have a single account? Are you serious, Soraya?" Diana asked stunned and for once Kimberly quite agreed with Diana.
I smiled faintly and it showed that I really followed my parents' words and was a good child.
"My father and mother are very disciplined and strict, which is why it is difficult for us to oppose, especially my mother who is very perfectionist and strict."
"Does your mother work?"
"Yes, my mother is a biology teacher at the high school where I study."
"So your mother is a teacher? No wonder she is very disciplined. What about your father?"
"My father is a firefighter. In contrast to my mother who is talkative and strict, my father is very humorous and relaxed. But when it comes to social media, they both agreed to forbid my siblings and I from using it."
"What's the reason? Has there ever been an incident that traumatized your father and mother?"
"I don't know the details, but my mother said that when I was little I almost knocked over a kidnapping victim. That's why my mother-" I stopped my sentence as I tried to recall memories that I could barely remember at all.
Hearing what I said made Diana and Kimberly understand enough, especially how scared my mother was considering how innocent and careless I was.
"I'm pretty sure your decision to study here was met with opposition from your mother. Isn't that right?" Kimberly asked.
"How did you know?"
"Yes, of course! It's very easy to predict how the plot will play out. I'm sure you are the favorite child in your family, that's why your parents are so worried, especially since you almost became a kidnapping victim. However, I feel a little jealous of you-" said Kimberly. His face, which was originally excited, suddenly turned sad.
"Why are you jealous? I would actually be happy if my parents didn't restrain me so much! Tsk, I didn't think you could be jealous of things like this!" Diana said sarcastically.
"People like you will never understand. The daughter of a rich family who has never experienced hardship in her life can understand!"
