Three Minutes Of Silence

"Mother Carla...! Help! Help me!" Soraya, who panicked, immediately ran down the middle of the corridor.

His panicked screams caused the dormitory residents to rush out of their rooms. Carla's mother, who heard Soraya's screams, immediately approached her, who was covered in cold sweat with a shocked face.

"Soraya? What's wrong? What happened? Why are you screaming?" Asked Mrs. Carla.

"Kerry he- he passed out in the room! Please call an ambulance! We have to take him to the hospital!"

"What? Oh my God, what happened?"

Soraya, Mrs. Carla and several students in the dormitory rushed to room 103, where Soraya and Kerry shared a room.

Just as Soraya said, Kerry was lying on the floor in a very weak state and had blood on his hands and clothes. A man called an ambulance which arrived within five minutes. After first, they tried to stop Kerry's bleeding until an ambulance arrived.

After the ambulance and medical personnel arrived, Kerry was carried on a stretcher to the ambulance. Soraya could see that Kerry was still half conscious and seemed to know what was going on.

"Josh... Josh..." Her weak voice called the name of her absent lover.

Seeing Kerry's condition, Soraya felt guilty. He thought he should have restrained himself, he thought he should have given in and forgiven Kerry, who had tried to apologize to him.

Because she was Kerry's roommate, Soraya had to accompany Mrs. Carla to accompany Kerry to the hospital until her family could be contacted. Soraya didn't mind that, but she was afraid that Kerry's family would ask about what really happened so that Kerry would hurt herself.

"Soraya, what actually happened? Do you know anything?" Mrs. Carla asked when their eyes fell on the doctor and nurses who entered the ICU room.

Soraya gasped, she felt very nervous. To be honest, he wasn't sure about telling Mrs. Carla that he and Kerry had been arguing before Kerry decided to hurt herself. Soraya felt hesitant, different from her previous belief in asking Mrs. Carla to give her an empty room that she could stay in.

"No, I don't know. Suddenly when I was about to enter the room, I saw Kerry lying on the floor." He answered hesitantly. He couldn't believe that he had made up a lie to cover up the real problem.

Soraya looked down, she tried to control her shaking hands. Beside her, Mrs. Carla sighed and got up from her place.

"Okay, I'll try to contact Kerry Smith's family. Do you have the phone number of any of his family members? His parents or siblings perhaps?"

"No, I don't know!"

"Okay, I'll go home to find a number for Kerry Smith's family to contact and ask them to come visit him. But for now, can you stand guard here? Do you have class tomorrow morning?"

"I have class at nine. But it's okay, I'll be here until his family comes."

"I understand, then I'll excuse myself. If you need anything, please contact me at any time. Do you understand?"

"Yes."

Carla's mother left, leaving Soraya sitting alone in the waiting room. When Mrs. Carla was right in the corridor of the hospital, Soraya could see a man walking towards her and passed Mrs. Carla.

"He?" Soraya was stunned. The man standing in the corridor was Joshua, Kerry Smith's boyfriend.

Josh seemed to be discussing something with Mrs. Carla for several minutes, until then Mrs. Carla walked away again after talking.

Soraya didn't know what they were talking about. But what made her nervous was that the man was walking towards her and it made her afraid to deal with him.

Josh stopped right in front of the door to the room where Kerry was being treated. Soraya was silent with her head bowed. He had absolutely no intention of talking or explaining anything to her.

After three minutes of silence, Josh turned to Soraya and looked at her. It seemed he was aware of the fear Soraya was feeling right now.

"Don't you have something to tell me? Hum, bitch!" Josh said.

His deep voice sounded very scary. This was the first time Soraya heard this man speak and just one sentence was enough to make Soraya even more scared.

Soraya was silent. He didn't want to say anything and he didn't know what to say either. He didn't know this man at all for whatever reason.

"You must have said something that made him sad. Don't you think?" This man asked again and Soraya remained in the silence he created.

"Hey, slut! Why are you silent? How long are you going to keep your stinking mouth shut? Do I have to rip your mouth open so you'll talk?" Josh said a sentence that sounded very cruel and of course it made Soraya tremble.

Soraya didn't know why she had to deal with them. He felt he had done nothing wrong since deciding to study in this city and live far from his family.

Tears welled up in his eyes. Soraya's face was downcast, unable to support her tears anymore. Water drops fell from his eyes, hitting the backs of his hands which were pressed against his shaking knees.

Soraya tried to cry silently, but she was too afraid to appear brave in front of someone who was much stronger than her.

"Kerry is a very good girl, she has never hurt anyone. That's why I swear, I will definitely teach the bastard who made her suffer a lesson!"
