The Sinful Angel (2)

I tilted my head and crossed my hands. This angel seemed to always be the one in control. Somehow, I got a sexual vibe from wherever this is going. And that was never good. I didn’t know if it was because of my natural ‘Lady’ hormone, making me more attracted to the princes, or if it was just me getting aroused by the angel’s proposal of what might be a dangerous game.

“Your study doesn’t seem to be going anywhere anyway,” he then said, “So why not have fun, Ari?” His eyes twinkled with amusement. “Oh, and of course, you can’t use commanding words. Only I can in this game.”

I got goosebumps all over me when he said that. But I gulped down my saliva and raised my chin. “Deal.”

He grinned devilishly. “Relax, Ari,” he said with a husky voice, “I just want you to hand me your coffee for the first question.”

*Dear… Beelzebub!* This angel was really intimidating. He always created this invisible tension whenever we interacted. And yes, I meant sexual tension. He was the only one who could do that among all the princes. Well, except maybe Xander, but we were still not talking then. So, Xander didn’t count.

I grabbed my mug and handed it to him. He brushed my skin slowly, making sure I felt the fireworks he sent through those fingers. I had to gulp down again. The tension was increasing.

Right at that moment, I thought Michael was actually the perfect candidate for the Dark Lord. I mean, just look at this guy! He acted more like the devil than the real demon himself.

He finally took the mug completely from me and took a sip. “I’m a fallen angel, Ari,” he said. “Demons killed my family and I wanted revenge.”

I blinked. “You… have a family? Angelic family?”

“That’s two questions and now I want you to sit closer to me.”

*Shit.* I dragged the chair closer to him but made sure we were still a few feet apart. After my experience with this angel, I didn’t really want to get too close to him.

“Yes. Angels create families just like humans do too.” He waited for a moment. I knew that he was waiting for me to slip up another question, so I was proud that I kept my mouth shut. “So, I hunted the demons and killed them myself. Apparently, when you’re an angel, you’re not supposed to carry a grudge. You’re supposed to just forgive. When heaven finds out what I had done, they cast me out to the Earth.”

I was stunned to hear the rest of the story. It was heartbreaking. But when I saw Michael, it was even more heart-wrenching because he told it in a nonchalant way.

“I’m so sorry, Michael, about your family.”

“It was long ago.” His lashes drooped slightly.

I cleared my throat. “Um… my question needs more answers than that. You still haven’t explained to me how you get to be the four princes.” I gave him a small smile, letting him know I wouldn’t fall for his silence. I would not waste my questions.

“Smart,” he grinned at me. “I met Crishella. She was an opera singer and when I told her I was an evil angel, she laughed.” For a short second, his face became serene. “I became her muse ever since. Honestly, I could have just stayed hidden in plain sight from human civilization. But something in her performance brought me out of my hiding.”

I remembered the dream I had about an opera singer who died, crushed by the chandelier at the night of her performance. That was why I saw Michael’s face.

“She bought me as a slave.”

“A what?” I exclaimed.

“Ah, three questions,” he said, “Sit closer, Ari.”

*Shit.* I slipped again. Reluctantly, I dragged the chair even closer. Honestly, I didn’t move much but the fact that I was being uncomfortable put a smile on his face. He was truly an evil angel.

“A slave. Because of my dark skin,” he said, “I was Crishella’s slave while Alexander was her lover. We didn’t know that I was one of the prophesied princes too at that time until we met because of the third girl. Alexander offered me loggings and freedom.”

I needed to wrap my head around it. So, even when an angel is black, humans are still racist. Michael was Crishella’s slave before but he became a successful CEO. And that they started mentioning the third Lady as the third girl.

“Is your desire for control because you were once a slave?” I dared to ask.

He half stood. Hovering his lips near mine, he only watched my face. I could feel his breath tingling my skin. The tension was definitely building and I knew then that whatever he did was working on me.

“It was more like a slave on the outside but being the top in the bedroom kind of situation,” he whispered.

*Oh, shit.* I hoped I did not pee on myself. My cheeks went hot.

“This has been fun,” he whispered again, ‘But you should relax more, Ari. We are supernaturals. We are not beasts. And you are not here to be our snack every time. So relax.”

He straightened his back. “In fact, if you ask one of us to be your playmate instead, we’d be happy to oblige.”

I furrowed my brows at him. “You are one sinful angel, you know that, right?”

He roared in laughter as he walked away to the stairs, leaving me with some things to contemplate. I shook my head but grinned, anyway. Michael was weird. But surprisingly, he managed to make me more relaxed.

I had to admit. I was avoiding the rotational date thing because I didn’t like the fact that I slept with two of them so quickly. With Alexander’s words echoing in my mind, I didn’t want to feel like I was a slut… for supernatural creatures. I knew the prophecy made me more attracted to them but I was a little blaming them for taking advantage of me too. That was why I isolated myself in the lab. I felt more secure inside the lab than any other part of the mansion.

Obviously, I was wrong.

I had the voice to stop them all the time. But also… I should never feel ashamed of my sexual urges, unlike what Alexander told me. The curse made me this way, and it was not like I made any of them uncomfortable.

Thinking like that, I felt lighter. I shut down my journal and finally descended the stairs. I was going to take a walk in the mansion because I hadn’t done that freely.

My feet took me to the garden. And I was admiring the beautiful evening wind breeze when I stumbled upon Alexander watering roses in one corner of the garden. I was just about to turn and walked away quickly but Alexander had noticed me.

“It’s time for our date, isn’t it?” he asked without looking.

Every time my mood was lightened, I met Alexander. And if my memory served me right, he would scorch me again with his words.
