-HER-

I was aware of him following me when I left the place to get some fresh air. Derek didn’t seem to be in the mood to talk to me and I didn’t want to annoy him more for the night. I knew that he wouldn't notice if I even chose to disappear. He couldn't care less about me.

Although it was a mystery for me why Theodore was coming after me even when he had brought another woman with him. What was he up to?

I walked straight to the parking lot where there was no one. He followed me so very closely. At one point I could bet that I felt him breathing down my neck. The air buzzed with tension and my stomach churned sickly.

The alcohol was slowly starting to hijack my senses but I clung to them as if my life depended on it.

“Anna,” He drew out. I stopped and looked over my shoulder. He seemed pissed… on me? What did I ever do to him?

“Why are you following me?” I grumbled.

“Who was that guy?” He demanded instead. I ignored his question and proceeded to walk to my car. He followed me closely. When I reached my car, I finally turned to him and demanded, “What do you want from me?”

I was careful to maintain a healthy distance between us as I leaned on my car side for support. The effect of alcohol was eating away my balance. His eyes blazed with a mixture of rage and possessiveness.

“I asked you a question. Just answer that,” He gritted. With each word, the intensity in his eyes climbed a new high.

“Why does that matter to you? Did I ask you about the woman you brought with you? I was minding my own business,” I intended to sound stern but my words were starting to overlap over each other. Although the rise in tension in the air was enough for me to know that he had understood what I had said.

“I’ll ask you again,” He stepped closer, gritting his teeth, “Who is that guy, Annelise?” He asked. A shiver ran down my spine at the tone of his voice.

“Just a friend,” I mumbled, reminding myself how Derek was being very nasty tonight. I knew that he was still inside the pub, texting away Amanda. It was making me feel like shit and as if to make it worse, Theodore brought another woman with him. It somewhat made me aware of how no one took me seriously. I was always the one left out.

His eyes remained on me for longer than necessary. He was searching for any signs of lying but I was too drunk to even care for that. Instead, my eyes were drifting back and forth from his face to his horns. I secretly had this urge to touch them and find out of they were real or not.

“You can leave me alone now,” I nodded at him, crossing my arms on my chest and looking up at him. He was standing very close to me. I got a whiff of the cologne he wore along with a flowery scent, which I was damn sure belonged to the woman.

“You’re drunk,” Was the only thing he said next while his eyes remained on me. I just couldn’t stand the intensity of them so I had to look away.

“Yeah, I may be. You should go back now. She must be waiting for you,” I mumbled as I tried to move away from him but he placed his hands on either side me, on the car and trapping me. I froze in my place and didn’t dare move a muscle in my body.

“Are you jealous of her?” He asked heatedly. My eyes snapped back to his face. He had a smirk playing on his lips while his eyes burned with lust. I glared at him because deep down I was offended by him being right about me being jealous of the woman he brought.

“No,” I tried my best to sound adamant but my drunkenness was getting into the way. This made him smirk him even more.

“No?” He teased, “Don’t want to have something like we did at the dinner?” He suggested while slowly pressing his body against mine.

“Wouldn’t you be cheating on her?” The question left my mouth even before I could contemplate about it. My words took him by surprise for a moment before the smug look was back on his face.

“You are jealous,” He commented.

“Just fvcking leave me alone,” I again tried to sound determined while I tried to push him back but he didn’t budge at all.

“I will if you accept that you’re jealous,” He told me. I couldn’t confirm if it was due to the effect of the alcohol or if it were his words that flooded my insides with so many emotions. A lump started building in my throat while I looked him back in the eyes.

Would he really leave me alone if I admitted that? I knew he was playing with me. I knew it too well because I've been played a lot of times before. I was slowly starting to give up on the idea of having someone. It was starting to get obvious that no one wanted to do anything with me.

“Yeah whatever,” I mumbled, looking away to blink some unwanted tears away. I didn’t know why I was getting emotional all of a sudden. “You can leave me alone now,” I told him nonchalantly after I had gotten control over my tears.

“And what are you going to do alone here?” He pressed, instead of leaving me alone.

“That’s none of your concern,” I told him while I again tried to push him back. I was slowly starting to get frustrated. I couldn’t hold it anymore. I just wanted to go home and cry myself to sleep. It appeared to be more fun than being in the pub surrounded by so many people but still feeling left out and alone.

“Are you going to drive yourself home like this?” Maybe it was my imagination but the tone of his voice changed instantly. He genuinely sounded concerned.

“Yeah, now get off me,” I whined.

“You’re drunk. You shouldn’t drive like this,” He spoke.

“Doesn’t matter. Just leave me alone already!” I whined again.

“Theodore!” A feminine voice interrupted us. I froze. I knew who it belonged to – the woman who came with him. He turned around to face her. Meanwhile, I stepped away from him- as far as it was possible before I finally looked at the woman.

She was tall, blonde and breathtakingly beautiful. She reminded me so much of Amanda. She was here for him.

“What are you doing here?” She asked but a frown climbed on her face when she looked at me. She scrunched her nose as if I were something disgusting before she asked, “And who’s that?”

“Hello,” I mumbled. This made her fix her eyes on me and give me a death stare. I unconsciously took some steps back.

“What are you doing here, Vipsania?” Theodore asked the woman.

“I came looking for you, Theo and why are you with this woman? Who is she?” Vipsania demanded. She looked angry.

“I am sorry. We were just talking about his new real estate purchase,” I tried to ease the tension between us but the only thing that I got in return from her was a glare.

“I am not talking to you!” She spat at me before she turned to Theodore.

“Let’s go inside, Vipsania,” Theodore said as he stepped closer to Vipsania, ignoring my presence completely. The unbothered look and coldness in his tone made it hard to believe that he was concerned about me just a few moments ago.

“You didn’t tell me who she is!” Vipsania raised her voice at him as he stepped beside her and placed a hand on the small of her back.

“You don’t really need to know about her,” I heard him tell her before he walked away with her. The only thing that I could do was watch them walk away, just like everyone else in my life.
