I sunk deeper into the seat as his smirk grew. I crossed my arms on my chest and looked out of the window as he drove, “I know this perfect place,” He told me.

“A sandwich will do just fine,” I told him but he soon halted his car in front of a posh restaurant. A frown instantly climbed on my face, “This is so unnecessary,”

“I’ll pay,” He said as we got out of the car, “Don’t fvcking wear this damn skirt again,” He growled lowly in my ear as soon as we stepped inside the restaurant. I found myself unconsciously tugging the skirt down, “I don’t like how they’re looking at you,”

I ignored his words as the server led us to an empty table. It was fairly guarded, promising us the privacy that could be used to have any intimate moments.

I scooted away as soon as I took my seat but he was quick to pull me beside him by wrapping his arm against my waist, “This place is great, isn’t it?” He muttered against my ear.

“I fvcking hate it,” I mumbled before the server was back with some light drinks.

“You’d love it by the time we’d be done,” He said smugly while I contained myself from rolling my eyes at him.

“You’re so fvcking arrogant,” I commented but it didn't have an effect on him whatsoever.

“So, who do you work for?” I asked to kill the awkward silence. He turned to me before cocking an eyebrow.

“Why do you want to know?” He asked me, leaving my question hanging.

“Just curious,” I shrugged as I tried to get rid of his hands from my waist, “Just get them off,” I gritted at him. He removed his hand without any protest this time. I was surprised but I wasn't complaining either.

“I work for a private agency,” He answered me after some time, sipping from his drink. My stomach chose this moment to grumble. I ignored it and took a sip from my drink.

“What is it about?” I inquired.

“I cannot tell you that,” He grumbled dismissingly before finishing his drink. I nodded before picking up the menu and looking at it. Meanwhile, I felt his eyes on me.

He found him studying me pensively when I looked at him, “What?” I blurted out.

“Nothing,” He grumbled before looking in the menu, “How long have you working as a real estate agent?” He asked me after some time.

“Why? Quite some time,” I answered nonchalantly. After a prolonged stare, he commented, “You’re good at what you do,”

His comment took me by surprise for the second time today, “Thanks,” I offered him a small smile. His eyes instantly drifted to my lips before settling there eventually. Before he could do anything further, the server arrived and we ordered.

“Where do you live?” He questioned, maintaining his pensive stare on me.

“Cold Town, Itaville,” I answered him nonchalantly, fiddling with my drink. Meanwhile, my stomach was screaming at me to eat something already.

“One of those posh neighbourhoods? Why didn’t you get me a property there?” He frowned instantly and I shrugged, “Well, you had mentioned in your application that you’d like somewhere less crowded and more greenery. Cold Town is a concrete jungle. You wouldn’t have liked it there,” I told him briefly.

“Well, I’d have changed my mind had I known earlier that you live there,” A smirk climbed on his lips as he commented. I instantly rolled my eyes at him.

“I can assure you the house you chose is far better than the best Cold Town can offer,” I told him.

“Still… do I have an option to stop the transaction and maybe explore more options?” He smirked, leaning in a bit. I instantly leaned back a bit to put some distance between us and glared at him.

“You’ve already increased my work by making such a major change in the application. Don’t make it any harder, please,” I scoffed before finishing my drink.

His eyes grew more intense as he continued to tease, “What if I do?”

“I am sure that your friend will have some objections because you didn’t ask him prior to making that major change,”

“Well, he doesn’t really care much,” He shrugged. The server arrived with our food shortly after.

“Why? He is making a huge transaction. He should have been present here,” I commented as soon as the server had left. He arched an eyebrow at me before asking, “What if he chooses not to?”

“He must be filthy rich to not care about it,” I muttered before turning my attention to the food. My stomach calmed down as soon as I had swallowed my first bite.

The food tasted like heaven. I had to contain myself from not moaning in front of him. We were alone already and judging by the way his body was turned towards me, things could escalate pretty quickly if I made a wrong move.

“He’s just busy with work,” He commented as I ate.

“Where are you two living right now anyway?” I asked curiously.

“We’ve lodged in la Debora right now,” He informed me. Suddenly, it became apparent to me, “Do you work in that company that has the trident’s symbol in their logo? What is their name… I forgot it,” I spoke.

“Seidon,” He told me and I nodded, “Yes, that one,” He looked surprised at my knowledge.

“How did you know?” He inquired. I took my time to chew and gulp before answering, “la Debora is closest to their office and we had two clients from that company a few years back. Their application was somewhat similar. I just guessed it,” I spoke nonchalantly as I continued to eat.

“You know too much,” He commented and narrowed his eyes at me. I was instantly aware of the change in his behaviour.

Unconsciously, my eyes travelled to his head to look at his horns. They looked very big in this small guarded area. I had forgotten about them while we were talking but the change in the air had reminded me about them.

“Yeah, maybe,” I tried to dismiss it as I turned back to my food.

“What else do you know?” He pressed.

“About what?” I tried to maintain my nonchalant tone. I didn't like how the air around was growing thick with tension.

“Seidon,” He spoke sternly. I noticed that he wasn't eating.

“Not much really. Just that they’re quite secretive and so are their employees,” I commented as I glanced at his horns from the corner of my eyes.
